The Secret
Prasanthi Nilayam, The Haven Of Peace, The Chosen Abode Of The Almighty Supreme, boasts of ultimate unparalleled blessings… and how fortunate it is to be a part of the chosen land that did penance to win His ultimate grace?… Let’s tune into Sathya Sai Speaks revealing the supreme significance of being in close proximity to HIM… from Peddabottu’s Autobiography.
“Of what use is so much learning?
Is it possible to erase the fate, written on your forehead?
If evil feelings are harboured in the head,
It blunts the mind and dries it up to a trickle!”!
These sentences are proved in our Prasanthi Nilayam. “Ksheene Punya Marthya Lokam Vishanthi.” (When merits are reduced we are sent back from heaven to earth?” If the merits were increased then whatever merit was in store would not decrease. Because of previous merits one gets close to Swami. For those who makes efforts to receive His grace by staying in His proximity, this merit too will be added to their store of previous ones, and they will get closer to Him. As they do not do that, they will stay in My proximity only until the previous merit is finished. As soon as that is over, they go away. This is the prapthi (destiny) of people in Prasanthi Nilayam. At least now they can realise and act accordingly. There is no barrier. If you think and make amendments now, it is good. If you have no luck then there is nothing else left to do. How foolish people are, who ruin their lives.
“You can fill an empty head easily
When there is nothing inside.
You cannot fill a head full of all sundry things.
Is it possible to empty the head,
Full of all sorts of things of the Kali age?
Is it possible to fill the head with holy feelings,
Unless it is emptied completely?”
“Like trees that do not bear fruit and
Cows that do not yield milk
What is the use of being born and of dying?
You are born to realise the result
If you die without realising it,
Then what is it that you have realised, and
What is it that you have gained?
These are heartbreaking deeds
To Sai Who knows all your hearts.”
The Secret – A Sacred Reflection On Inner Truth And Divine Living
The Secret is not hidden in distant mountains, rare books, or complicated rituals. It lives quietly within the human heart. Many people search outside for peace, happiness, success, and meaning, but the greatest truth is discovered when the mind becomes silent and the heart turns toward God with sincerity.
Human beings often believe that happiness depends on outer circumstances. They think that more wealth, praise, comfort, position, or control will bring lasting joy. But worldly things are temporary. They may give excitement for a short time, but they cannot satisfy the soul completely. Real peace comes from within.
The Secret teaches that the source of lasting happiness is divine awareness. When a person remembers that God is present within as love, conscience, peace, and truth, life begins to change. The same world remains, but the way of seeing becomes different. Problems become lessons, duties become worship, and service becomes joy.
Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba often reminded devotees that love is the foundation of spiritual life. Without love, prayer becomes dry, knowledge becomes proud, and service becomes mechanical. With love, even a simple act becomes sacred. A kind word, a forgiving heart, and a helping hand can carry the fragrance of divine presence.
The Secret becomes meaningful when we understand that transformation begins inside. We may want others to change, society to improve, and circumstances to become easier, but the first step is self-purification. When our thoughts become pure, our words become gentle, and our actions become selfless, the world around us also receives peace.
Many people hide their pain behind smiles and their fears behind busy lives. They may appear strong outside, but inside they long for comfort and direction. Spiritual life teaches that we do not need to carry everything alone. When we surrender sincerely to God, the heart receives strength beyond ordinary understanding.
The Secret also reminds us that silence has great power. In silence, we can hear the voice of conscience. In silence, we can see our mistakes without excuses. In silence, we can feel God’s nearness. A noisy mind runs behind desires, but a quiet mind begins to recognize truth.
The Divine does not ask for showy devotion. God looks for sincerity. A small prayer offered with love is greater than a grand display filled with ego. A simple service done quietly is more valuable than a public act done for praise. The heart’s purity is the real offering.
The Secret finally teaches that love must expand beyond the self. If devotion remains limited only to personal comfort, it is incomplete. True spirituality makes us sensitive to the suffering of others. Feeding the hungry, comforting the sorrowful, helping the weak, and speaking kindly are ways of worshipping God in living beings.
A person who understands this sacred truth becomes less restless. Such a person does not depend completely on praise or fear criticism too much. Inner peace grows because the heart is anchored in the Divine. Success is accepted with gratitude, and difficulty is faced with patience.
Prayer, namasmarana, bhajan, meditation, and seva help reveal this hidden wisdom. Prayer opens the heart, the divine name purifies the mind, bhajan fills life with devotion, meditation brings stillness, and service removes selfishness. Together, these practices help the seeker move from outer confusion to inner clarity.
The greatest secret of life is not merely to know about God, but to live in God-consciousness. This means seeing God in all, doing duty with love, avoiding harm, and remembering that every action has spiritual value. Life becomes sacred when every moment is offered to the Divine.
A devotee should not wait for perfect circumstances to begin spiritual living. The present moment is enough. Today we can speak more gently, forgive one person, serve someone in need, pray with sincerity, and reduce one selfish habit. Small steps taken with faith slowly create deep inner change.
In the end, The Secret is a sacred reminder that the treasure we seek outside is already waiting within. Love, peace, strength, wisdom, and divine grace are hidden in the purified heart. When we live with truth, humility, compassion, and surrender, life becomes peaceful, purposeful, and blessed by God’s eternal presence.
