The Oneness Of Sathya Sai and Shirdi Sai…
Madhav Dikshit was an accountant working for a firm in Mangalore and regularly had his lunch at the lodge. We often used to meet in this place and have interesting conversations about life in Shirdi and the final days of Shirdi Sai Baba. I told him about the valuable information that Shirdi Baba had given to his uncle before His ‘Maha Samadhi’, viz. I will leave My body soon and will come again as a boy of eight years of age. I further explained to him that Dabholkar wrote all these details in the Marathi version of the book Sri Sai Satcharita on the second page. Madhav Dikshit was fully aware of all these details, but what he did not know was that Shirdi Baba had already incarnated in the form of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. He could not believe it as he said that he was constantly in touch with the devotees in Shirdi and they were not aware of this fact!
I requested him to accompany me to Puttaparthi and told him of my experience with Beloved Swami, which he listened with interest. On my next visit to Puttaparthi during my holidays, Dikshit and his wife as well as some other devotees came along, making a group of twelve. After travelling about eight hours via Bangalore, we arrived in Puttaparthi just as Baba was coming out of the interview room. As soon as He saw me, He asked: “Have you brought Dikshit with you? He stayed with Swami for eight years, is it not so?” Madhav Dikshit was surprised and replied, “Yes Swami, You are exactly right.”
He took us into the interview room and materialised Vibhuti and distributed it to all. Everyone was very happy to receive this Divine Vibhuti and also to see it being materialised! Swami put some questions to Dikshit in front of us, which we were not aware of at the time: “Do you get any more headaches after I slapped you on your forehead at Shirdi?” Madhav Dikshit was stunned; tears streamed down his cheeks and he fell at Swami’s Feet – performing sashtang pranam at His most Divine Lotus Feet. Baba said: “This is not enough, further proof will be given during the personal interview!”
In the personal interview with Madhav Dikshit, Swami gave all the details of the incidents that happened in Shirdi.
But the most important revelation was about Kakasaheb Dikshit. Beloved Swami said: Kaka was a lazy fellow. Shirdi Baba did not say that He would appear as a boy of eight, but that He would come after eight years. Kaka did not record these details straightaway and did not remember the important facts correctly. Swami revealed the minutest details about what happened with Madhav when he was in Shirdi, which convinced him beyond any doubt that Sathya Sai Baba is the incarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba.
The Oneness Of Sathya Sai and Shirdi Sai – A Sacred Reflection On Divine Continuity
The Oneness Of Sathya Sai and Shirdi Sai is a beautiful spiritual truth that fills the devotee’s heart with faith, love, and reverence. Though the divine forms appeared in different places and times, the love, compassion, wisdom, and mission behind them remain one. The body may change, but divine consciousness is eternal and continuous.
Shirdi Sai Baba lived a life of simplicity, compassion, and spiritual power. He taught faith, patience, surrender, and love for God through everyday actions. He welcomed people of all religions and backgrounds, removing narrow divisions created by caste, creed, and social pride. His life showed that true spirituality is love, humility, and trust in the Divine.
The Oneness Of Sathya Sai and Shirdi Sai teaches that the same stream of grace continued through Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The message expanded into love, service, unity, education, healthcare, and spiritual transformation across the world. The form was different, but the divine purpose was the same: to awaken humanity to the God within.
Both Sai forms emphasized that God is not limited by religion. Shirdi Sai Baba lived beyond labels and united Hindus and Muslims through love and wisdom. Sathya Sai Baba honored all faiths and taught that all names and forms belong to the same Supreme Reality. This unity is one of the most powerful lessons for mankind.
The Oneness Of Sathya Sai and Shirdi Sai becomes meaningful when devotees stop seeing only outer difference and begin recognizing inner divinity. Shirdi gave the message of Shraddha and Saburi, faith and patience. Parthi gave the message of love all, serve all; help ever, hurt never. Together, these teachings form a complete path of devotion and service.
Miracles were seen in both lives, but miracles were never the final goal. They were signs of divine compassion and instruments to awaken faith. The greater miracle is inner transformation. When a restless mind becomes peaceful, an angry heart becomes gentle, and a selfish person becomes service-minded, Sai’s grace is truly active.
The Oneness Of Sathya Sai and Shirdi Sai also reminds us that the Avatar comes for the welfare of all beings. The Divine does not come to create followers only; He comes to create better human beings. He teaches truth, compassion, humility, discipline, and selfless love so that life may become sacred and society may become peaceful.
A true devotee of Sai should not merely compare forms, names, places, or miracles. The devotee should practice the message. If we believe in Sai but continue to hurt others, speak harshly, live selfishly, or ignore suffering, our devotion remains incomplete. Sai must be worshipped through pure conduct and loving service.
The Oneness Of Sathya Sai and Shirdi Sai finally teaches that divine love never ends. The physical form may appear and disappear, but grace continues to guide sincere hearts. Sai lives through prayer, conscience, namasmarana, bhajan, seva, sacred teachings, and the silent experiences of devotees who remember Him with love.
Both Shirdi and Parthi are not only holy places on earth; they are sacred symbols within the heart. Shirdi reminds us to trust, wait, surrender, and accept God’s will. Parthi reminds us to love, serve, purify, and see God in all. When these lessons are lived together, the devotee’s life becomes balanced and blessed.
The connection between the two forms should inspire unity among devotees. There should be no argument, pride, or division in the name of Sai. The Lord who came to unite hearts should not become the cause of separation. A true Sai devotee respects every sincere path and sees the same divine light in all.
In the end, The Oneness Of Sathya Sai and Shirdi Sai is a sacred reminder that divine grace is one, though forms may be many. Shirdi Sai and Sathya Sai came to guide humanity toward faith, patience, love, service, and God-realization. When devotees live these teachings with humility and sincerity, Sai’s presence remains alive in their hearts forever.
