suchiramanunayanē prīṇayitvā mṛgākṣīṃ gatavati kṛtavēśē kēśavē kuñjaśayyām ।
rachitaruchirabhūṣāṃ dṛṣṭimōṣē pradōṣē sphurati niravasādāṃ kāpi rādhāṃ jagāda ॥ 59 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
श्रीकेशव ने बहुत देर तक मनुहार करके मृगनयनी राधा को प्रसन्न किया और फिर कुंज की शय्या पर चले गए। संध्या के समय, जब राधा सुंदर आभूषणों से सुसज्जित थी और उसके मुख पर उदासी का कोई चिह्न नहीं था, तब एक सखी ने उससे कहा।

English Meaning:
After patiently persuading and pleasing the doe-eyed Rādhā, Keśava went to the bed prepared in the bower. At dusk, when Rādhā was adorned with beautiful ornaments and her face shone free of sorrow, one of her companions spoke to her.

॥ gītaṃ 20 ॥

virachitachāṭuvachanarachanaṃ charaṇē rachitapraṇipātam ।
samprati mañjulavañjulasīmani kēliśayanamanuyātam ॥
mugdhē madhumathanamanugatamanusara rādhikē ॥ 1 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
हे भोली राधिका! मधुसूदन ने तुम्हें प्रसन्न करने के लिए मधुर चापलूसी भरे वचन कहे और तुम्हारे चरणों में प्रणाम किया। अब वे मनोहर वंजुल वृक्षों से सजे कुंज में प्रेम-क्रीड़ा की शय्या पर तुम्हारी प्रतीक्षा कर रहे हैं। इसलिए तुम भी उनके पीछे-पीछे वहाँ जाओ।

English Meaning:
O innocent Rādhikā! Madhusūdana has spoken sweet words of persuasion and bowed at your feet. Now he awaits you upon the bed of love in the charming bower adorned with graceful vañjula trees. Follow him there, dear Rādhā.

ghanajaghanastanabhārabharē daramantharacharaṇavihāram ।
mukharitamaṇīmañjīramupaihi vidhēhi marālavikāram ॥ 2 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
हे सुंदरी! तुम्हारे भरे हुए नितंबों और उन्नत स्तनों के भार से तुम्हारी चाल स्वाभाविक रूप से धीमी और मनोहर है। तुम्हारे रत्नजटित नूपुर मधुर ध्वनि करते हुए बजें। हंस के समान सुंदर चाल से अपने प्रियतम के पास पहुँचो।

English Meaning:
O beautiful one! With your full hips and shapely breasts, your gait is naturally slow and graceful. Let your jeweled anklets ring melodiously as you approach your beloved with the elegant movements of a swan.

śṛṇu ramaṇīyataraṃ taruṇījanamōhanamadhupavirāvam ।
kusumaśarāsanaśāsanabandini pikanikarē bhaja bhāvam ॥ 3 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
हे युवतियों को मोहित करने वाले कामदेव के पुष्प-बाणों के प्रभाव में बँधी प्रिये! कोयलों के समूह की अत्यंत मधुर कूक सुनो। उनके प्रेममय स्वर के अनुरूप अपने हृदय में प्रेमभाव जगाओ।

English Meaning:
O beloved, captivated by the commands of the flower-armed god of love! Listen to the exceedingly sweet cooing of the cuckoos, which enchants young hearts, and awaken within yourself the corresponding mood of love.

anilataralakisalayanikarēṇa karēṇa latānikurambam ।
prēraṇamiva karabhōru karōti gatiṃ pratimuñcha vilambam ॥ 4 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
हे हाथी की सूँड़ जैसी कोमल जंघाओं वाली प्रिये! हवा से काँपती कोमल पत्तियों के समूह मानो लताओं को आगे बढ़ने का संकेत दे रहे हैं। तुम भी अब विलंब छोड़कर अपने प्रियतम की ओर चल पड़ो।

English Meaning:
O beloved with graceful, elephant-trunk-like thighs! The clusters of tender leaves trembling in the breeze seem to urge the vines forward. Cast aside your hesitation and proceed toward your beloved without further delay.

sphuritamanaṅgataraṅgavaśādiva sūchitahariparirambham ।
pṛchCha manōharahāravimalajaladhāramamuṃ kuchakumbham ॥ 5 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
हे सुंदरी! कामदेव की उठती प्रेम-तरंगों से मानो तुम्हारे प्रियतम के आलिंगन का संकेत मिल रहा है। अपने वक्षस्थलों पर झूलती इस मनोहर हार-माला से पूछो, जिसकी स्वच्छ मोतियों की धारा तुम्हारे स्तनों पर सुंदरता से विराजमान है।

English Meaning:
O beautiful one! The stirring waves of love seem to announce the embrace of Hari. Ask this enchanting necklace, with its clear stream of pearls resting upon your breasts, as though it too bears witness to the longing for union.

adhigatamakhilasakhībhiridaṃ tava vapurapi ratiraṇasajjam ।
chaṇḍi rasitaraśanāravaḍiṇḍimamabhisara sarasamalajjam ॥ 6 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
हे चंचल प्रिये! तुम्हारी सभी सखियाँ जानती हैं कि तुम्हारा सुंदर शरीर प्रेम-मिलन के लिए सज्जित है। तुम्हारी करधनी की झंकार मानो प्रेम के उत्सव का नगाड़ा बजा रही है। अब संकोच छोड़कर मधुर भाव से अपने प्रियतम के पास जाओ।

English Meaning:
O playful beloved! All your companions know that your beautiful form is ready for the delights of love. The ringing of your girdle sounds like a drum announcing the festival of passion. Abandon your shyness and hasten gracefully to your beloved.

smaraśarasubhaganakhēna karēṇa sakhīmavalambya salīlam ।
chala valayakvaṇītairavabōdhaya haramapi nijagatiśīlam ॥ 7 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
हे सुंदरी! अपने हाथों की सुंदर, प्रेम-बाणों जैसी नख-रेखाओं की शोभा लिए, अपनी सखी का सहारा लेकर ललित भाव से आगे बढ़ो। अपनी चूड़ियों की मधुर झंकार से अपने प्रियतम को अपनी ओर आने का संकेत दो और उन्हें अपनी चंचल चाल से अवगत कराओ।

O lovely one! Gracefully leaning upon your companion, move forward with your beautiful nails, charming like the arrows of love. Let the sweet music of your bangles announce your approach and awaken your beloved to your graceful movements.

harivinihitamanasāmadhitiṣṭhatu kaṇṭhataṭīmavirāmam ॥ 8 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
श्री जयदेव द्वारा रचित यह गीत उस प्रेममयी अवस्था का वर्णन करता है जिसमें हार की शोभा भी फीकी पड़ जाती है और मान का भाव पीछे छूट जाता है। जिन भक्तों ने अपना मन हरि में समर्पित कर दिया है, उनके हृदय और कंठ में यह मधुर गीत निरंतर विराजमान रहे।

English Meaning:
May this song composed by Śrī Jayadeva, describing a love that surpasses the beauty of ornaments and leaves pride behind, dwell eternally in the hearts and upon the lips of those who have dedicated their minds to Hari.

English Meaning:
He anxiously imagines, “She will look at me, speak of love, and delight me with embraces of her entire body. O friend, she will come to me and rejoice in our union.” Thus consumed by longing, your beloved waits in the dark bower. At the sight of you, he trembles, his hair stands on end, he rejoices, breaks into perspiration, hastens toward you, and nearly faints from the intensity of his love.

हे सखी! कुंजों में फैला हुआ अंधकार उन चतुर प्रेमियों और शीघ्रता से मिलने जाने वाली प्रेमिकाओं के शरीरों को ऐसे आलिंगन कर रहा है, मानो वह नीले वस्त्र के समान हो। वह आँखों में काजल, कानों में ताम्रवर्णी पुष्पों के गुच्छे, सिर पर नीले कमलों की माला और वक्षस्थलों पर कस्तूरी का पात्र धारण किए हुए प्रतीत होता है। इस प्रकार अंधकार प्रेम-मिलन के लिए निकले युगलों के अंग-अंग से लिपट रहा है।

English Meaning:
O friend! The darkness spread throughout the bowers embraces the bodies of clever lovers and eager women hastening to their secret meetings, like a beautiful garment of deep blue. It seems to wear collyrium upon its eyes, clusters of copper-hued blossoms at its ears, a garland of blue lotuses upon its head, and a vessel of musk upon its breast. Thus the darkness lovingly envelops every limb of those seeking union.

kāśmīragauravapuṣāmabhisārikāṇāṃ ābaddharēkhamabhitō ruchimañjarībhiḥ ।
ētattamāladalanīlatamaṃ tamiśraṃ tatprēmahēmanikaṣōpalatāṃ tanōti ॥ 62 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
कश्मीर केसर के समान गौरवर्ण शरीर वाली अभिसारिकाओं के चारों ओर सुंदर आभूषणों और अलंकरणों की रेखाएँ चमक रही हैं। उनके आसपास फैला यह तमाल-पत्तों जैसा गहरा नीला अंधकार उनके प्रेमरूपी स्वर्ण को परखने वाली कसौटी के समान बन गया है।

English Meaning:
Around the fair-bodied women hastening to their lovers, whose complexions resemble the golden saffron of Kashmir, delicate ornaments and decorative lines gleam beautifully. The deep darkness, black as tamāla leaves, becomes like a touchstone upon which the gold of their love is tested.

hārāvalītaralakāñchanakāñchidāma-kēyūrakaṅkaṇamaṇidyutidīpitasya ।
dvārē nikuñjanilayasyahariṃ nirīkṣya vrīḍāvatīmatha sakhī nijagāha rādhām ॥ 63 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
कुंज-भवन के द्वार पर श्रीहरि खड़े थे। उनके हार, झिलमिलाते स्वर्णाभूषण, करधनी, बाजूबंद, कंगन और रत्नों की चमक से उनका शरीर प्रकाशित हो रहा था। द्वार पर इस प्रकार सुसज्जित हरि को देखकर सखी ने लज्जा से भरी राधा को आगे बढ़ने के लिए प्रेरित किया।

English Meaning:
Hari stood at the entrance of the bower, his form illuminated by the sparkle of necklaces, shimmering golden ornaments, jeweled girdles, armlets, bracelets, and precious gems. Seeing him standing there in such splendor, the companion gently urged the shy Rādhā forward.

हे राधे! इस सुंदर कुंज के भीतर, जो प्रेम-क्रीड़ा का मनोहर निवास है, आनंदपूर्वक प्रवेश करो। तुम्हारा मुख प्रेम के उत्साह से मुस्कुराता रहे। यहाँ माधव तुम्हारी प्रतीक्षा कर रहे हैं; उनके समीप जाओ और प्रेममय आनंद में रम जाओ।

navabhavadaśōkadalaśayanasārē ।
vilasa kuchakalaśataralahārē ॥ 2 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
नवीन अशोक-पत्तों से सजी कोमल शय्या पर आनंदपूर्वक विहार करो। हे सुंदरी! तुम्हारे वक्षस्थलों पर झूलती हुई हार-माला तुम्हारी सुंदरता को और निखारे।

पद्मावती के सुख और आनंद से प्रेरित इस गीत को कविराज जयदेव गाते हैं। यह प्रेममय गीत हृदय में आनंद और माधुर्य का संचार करे।

Hari has carried you in his heart for a long time and is now exhausted and deeply tormented by the god of love. He longs to taste your lips, sweet as nectar and red like the bimba fruit. Since he stands before you like a servant devoted to your lotus feet, why should you hesitate?

उस चंचल नेत्रों वाली राधा ने संकोच और आनंद से भरे हृदय के साथ गोविंद के निवास में प्रवेश किया। उसके सुंदर नूपुर मधुर झंकार करते हुए बज रहे थे।

English Meaning:
With eyes full of restless longing and a heart mingling apprehension with joy, Rādhā entered Govinda’s abode. Her beautiful anklets chimed melodiously as she walked.

rādhāvadanavilōkanavikasitavividhavikāravibhaṅgam ।
jalanidhimiva vidhumaṇḍaladarśanataralitatuṅgataraṅgam ॥
harimēkarasaṃ chiramabhilaṣitavilāsaṃ sā dadārśa guruharṣavaśaṃvadavadanamanaṅganivāsam ॥ 1 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
राधा का मुख देखते ही श्रीहरि के चेहरे पर अनेक भाव खिल उठे, जैसे चंद्रमा के दर्शन से समुद्र में ऊँची-ऊँची तरंगें उठने लगती हैं। राधा ने उस हरि को देखा, जो प्रेम के एकमात्र रस में डूबे हुए थे, लंबे समय से इच्छित मिलन के आनंद से परिपूर्ण थे और जिनका मुख महान हर्ष से दमक रहा था। वे मानो स्वयं कामदेव के निवासस्थान थे।

English Meaning:
At the sight of Rādhā’s face, many expressions blossomed upon Hari’s countenance, like towering waves rising in the ocean at the sight of the moon. She beheld Hari, wholly absorbed in the essence of love, filled with the joy of the long-desired union, and radiant with overwhelming delight—as though he were the very abode of the god of love.

śyāmalamṛdulakalēvaramaṇḍalamadhigatagauradukūlam ।
nīlanalinamiva pītaparāgapatalabharavalayitamūlam ॥ 3 ॥

उनका कोमल, श्याम शरीर उज्ज्वल पीले रेशमी वस्त्र से सुशोभित था। वे ऐसे प्रतीत हो रहे थे, मानो नीले कमल के आधार पर पीले पराग की परत छा गई हो।

उनके सुंदर केश ऐसे लग रहे थे, मानो चंद्रकिरणों से आलोकित जलधाराओं वाले मेघ हों और उनमें मनोहर पुष्प सजे हों। उनके ललाट पर चंदन का निर्मल तिलक ऐसा चमक रहा था, मानो अंधकार में उदित हुआ स्वच्छ चंद्रमंडल हो।

vipulapulakabharadanturitaṃ ratikēlikalābhiradhīram ।
maṇigaṇakiraṇasamūhasamujjvalabhūṣaṇasubhagaśarīram ॥ 7 ॥

प्रेम के आवेग से उनके शरीर पर रोमांच छा गया था और वे प्रेम-क्रीड़ा की कलाओं में अत्यंत मनोहर दिखाई दे रहे थे। उनके शरीर पर जड़े अनेक रत्नों से निकलती किरणें उनके आभूषणों को चमका रही थीं और उनके रूप की शोभा को और बढ़ा रही थीं।

praṇamata hṛdi suchiraṃ vinidhāya hariṃ sukṛtōdayasāram ॥ 8 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
श्री जयदेव कहते हैं कि श्रीहरि की दिव्य शोभा उनके आभूषणों की सुंदरता को भी कई गुना बढ़ा देती है। पुण्य के उदय से प्राप्त इस आनंदमय हरि को अपने हृदय में लंबे समय तक धारण करके उन्हें श्रद्धापूर्वक प्रणाम करो।

English Meaning:
Śrī Jayadeva declares that Hari’s divine splendor multiplies the beauty of his ornaments. Enshrine this blissful Hari, the precious fruit of accumulated merit, within your heart for a long time and bow to him with devotion.

atikramyāpāṅgaṃ śravaṇapathaparyantagamana-prayāsēnēvākṣṇōstaralataratāraṃ patitayōḥ ।
idānīṃ rādhāyāḥ priyatamasamālōkasamayē papāta svēdāmbuprasara iva harṣāśrunikaraḥ ॥ 66 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
राधा की आँखों के चंचल तारों ने तिरछी दृष्टि की सीमा को पार करते हुए मानो कानों तक पहुँचने का प्रयास किया। जब उसने अपने प्रियतम को देखा, तो उसकी आँखों से आनंद के आँसुओं की धारा बह निकली, जो पसीने की बूँदों की तरह चमक रही थी।

English Meaning:
Rādhā’s restless pupils seemed to strive to travel beyond the limits of her sidelong glances and reach her ears. At the moment she beheld her beloved, a stream of tears of joy flowed from her eyes, glistening like drops of perspiration.

bhavantyāstalpāntaṃ kṛtakapaṭakaṇḍūtipihita-smitaṃ yātē gēhādbahiravahitālīparijanē ।
priyāsyaṃ paśyantyāḥ smaraśarasamākūlasubhagaṃ salajjā lajjāpi vyagamadiva dūraṃ mṛgadṛśaḥ ॥ 67 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
जब राधा की सखियाँ सावधानीपूर्वक कक्ष से बाहर चली गईं और वह शय्या के समीप पहुँची, तब उसने बनावटी खुजली के बहाने अपनी मुस्कान छिपा ली। कामदेव के बाणों से व्याकुल और अत्यंत मनोहर अपने प्रियतम के मुख को देखते हुए उस मृगनयनी राधा की लज्जा भी मानो धीरे-धीरे दूर चली गई।

English Meaning:
When Rādhā’s attentive companions quietly left the chamber and she approached the edge of the bed, she concealed her smile by pretending to scratch herself. Gazing at the beautiful face of her beloved, whose charm was heightened by the arrows of love, the doe-eyed Rādhā seemed gradually to leave even her shyness behind.

॥ iti śrīgītagōvindē rādhikāmilanē sānandadāmōdarō nāmaikādaśaḥ sargaḥ ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
इस प्रकार श्रीगीतगोविन्द में राधिका और श्रीकृष्ण के मिलन का वर्णन करने वाला “सानन्ददामोदर” नामक एकादश सर्ग समाप्त होता है।

English Meaning:
Thus ends the eleventh canto of Śrī Gītagōvinda, entitled “Sānandadāmōdaraḥ,” which describes the joyful union of Rādhikā and Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
