Verse 1

Sanskrit (Transliteration):
Ārtānāṁ duḥkha-śamane dīkṣitaṁ prabhum avyayam ।
Aśeṣa-jagad-ādhāraṁ Lakṣmī-Nārāyaṇaṁ bhaje ॥1॥

Meaning:
I worship Lord Lakshmi Narayana, the eternal and imperishable Supreme Lord, who is dedicated to removing the suffering of those in distress and who is the foundation and support of the entire universe.

Verse 2

Sanskrit (Transliteration):
Apāra-karuṇāmbhodhiṁ āpad-bāndhavam acyutam ।
Aśeṣa-duḥkha-śānty-arthaṁ Lakṣmī-Nārāyaṇaṁ bhaje ॥2॥

Meaning:
I worship Lord Lakshmi Narayana, the infallible Lord, who is an infinite ocean of compassion, the true friend and protector during times of difficulty, and the one who removes every form of sorrow.

Bhaktānāṁ vatsalaṁ bhakti-gamyaṁ sarva-guṇākaram ।

I worship Lord Lakshmi Narayana, who is deeply affectionate toward His devotees, attainable through sincere devotion, and the treasure-house of all divine virtues, bringing an end to every sorrow.

Suhṛdaṁ sarva-bhūtānāṁ sarva-lakṣaṇa-saṁyutam ।

I worship Lord Lakshmi Narayana, the well-wisher of all living beings, who possesses every auspicious quality and who grants peace by removing all suffering.

Cid-acit-sarva-jantūnāṁ ādhāraṁ varadaṁ param ।

I worship Lord Lakshmi Narayana, the supreme giver of boons and the eternal support of all conscious and unconscious beings, who destroys every kind of sorrow.

Yaḥ paṭhet prātar utthāya Lakṣmī-Nārāyaṇāṣṭakam ।
Vimuktas sarva-pāpebhyaḥ Viṣṇu-lokaṁ sa gacchati ॥

Meaning:
Whoever rises early in the morning and recites this Shri Lakshmi Narayana Ashtakam with devotion becomes freed from all sins and ultimately attains the divine abode of Lord Vishnu (Vaikuntha).
