हिंदी अर्थ:
जय हो, जय हो! हे जगत् के रक्षक और संसार के पालनकर्ता! हे समस्त सद्गुणों के परम धाम, श्री मध्वनाम, आपकी जय हो।

English Meaning:
Victory, victory to the protector and sustainer of the world! Glory to the sacred name of Madhva, the abode of all noble virtues.

हिंदी अर्थ:
जब भगवान हरि ने कच्छप रूप धारण करके मन्दर पर्वत को धारण किया और शेषस्वरूप को भी धारण किया, तब उनके पीछे-पीछे चलने वाले तथा देवताओं को मार्ग दिखाने वाले वही वायु हमारे कुलगुरु हैं।

English Meaning:
When Lord Hari assumed the form of the Tortoise and supported Mount Mandara, also bearing the form of Shesha, Vayu followed Him and guided the Devas. That Vayu is our revered family preceptor.

हिंदी अर्थ:
जिसके शरीर में वायु का निवास रहता है, उसमें हरि स्थित रहते हैं; और जब वायु शरीर से निकल जाते हैं, तब हरि भी वहाँ से प्रस्थान करते हैं। जो भीतर और बाहर से शरीर के नियामक हैं, वही वायु हमारे कुलगुरु हैं।

English Meaning:
Where Vayu dwells within the body, Hari abides there; when Vayu departs from the body, Hari too departs. Vayu, who governs the body from within and without, is our revered family preceptor.

karuṇābhimāni suraru dēhava biḍalu
kuruḍa kivuḍa mūkanendenisuva
parama mukhya prāṇa tolagalā dēhavanu
aritu peṇanendu pēḻuvaru budhajana ॥ 3 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
जब करुणा के अधिकारी देवता शरीर को छोड़ देते हैं, तब वह अंधा, बहरा या गूंगा-सा प्रतीत होने लगता है। जब परम मुख्य प्राण भी शरीर से निकल जाते हैं, तब ज्ञानीजन उस शरीर को मृत शरीर कहते हैं।

English Meaning:
When the deities presiding over the senses depart from the body, it becomes like that of a blind, deaf, or mute person. When the Supreme Vital Breath, Mukhya Prana, leaves the body, the wise recognize it as a lifeless body.

gurukulatilaka mukhya pavamānanu ॥ 4 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
देवताओं, मनुष्यों और सभी प्राणियों के भीतर जो परम श्रेष्ठ रूप से स्थित होकर उनका नियमन करते हैं, वे हरि के अतिरिक्त किसी अन्य के अधीन नहीं हैं। गुरुकुल के तिलक, मुख्य पवमान अर्थात् वायु ही इस प्रकार सबके नियामक हैं।

English Meaning:
Among Devas, humans, and all living beings, the one who abides as the supreme regulator is dependent on none other than Hari. Mukhya Pavamana, Vayu, the crown jewel of the Guru lineage, thus governs all beings.

हिंदी अर्थ:
त्रेतायुग में भगवान रघुपति की सेवा करने के लिए वे वायुपुत्र हनुमान के रूप में प्रसिद्ध हुए। बालभाव में उन्होंने सूर्य-मंडल को फल समझकर उसकी ओर छलांग लगा दी। तीनों लोकों में उनके समान कौन हो सकता है?

English Meaning:
In the Treta Yuga, desiring to serve Lord Raghupati, he appeared as Hanuman, the son of Vayu. As a child, he leapt toward the solar orb, mistaking it for a fruit. Who in all the three worlds can equal him?

taraṇigabhimukhanāgi śabdaśāstrava paṭhisi
uravaṇisi hindumundāgi naḍeda
parama pavamāna suta udayāsta śailagaḻa
bharadiyaididagītagupame uṇṭē ॥ 6 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
सूर्य के सम्मुख रहकर उन्होंने शब्दशास्त्र का अध्ययन किया और पीछे तथा आगे चलते हुए सूर्य के साथ-साथ विचरण किया। परम पवमान के पुत्र ने उदय और अस्त पर्वतों को अत्यंत वेग से पार किया—उनकी गति की तुलना किससे की जा सकती है?

English Meaning:
Facing the Sun, he studied the science of language and moved along with the Sun, keeping pace before and behind him. The son of Supreme Pavamana crossed the mountains of sunrise and sunset with immense speed. What can compare with such a swift movement?

akhila vēdagaḻa sāra paṭhisidanu munnalli
nikhiḻa vyākaraṇagaḻa iva pēḻida
mukhadalli kiñchidapaśabda ivagillendu
mukhyaprāṇananu rāmananukarisida ॥ 7 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
उन्होंने समस्त वेदों का सार पहले ही ग्रहण कर लिया और सभी व्याकरणों का ज्ञान प्राप्त किया। उनके मुख से कभी कोई अशुद्ध शब्द नहीं निकलता था। इस प्रकार मुख्यप्राण ने भगवान राम की पूर्णतः अनुकरणीय सेवा और मर्यादा को धारण किया।

English Meaning:
He mastered the essence of all the Vedas and learned the entire science of grammar. Not even the slightest improper word ever came from his mouth. Thus Mukhya Prana perfectly reflected the exemplary service and discipline of Lord Rama.

हिंदी अर्थ:
हनुमान ने सूर्यपुत्र सुग्रीव की रक्षा की, समुद्र को लांघकर धरती की पुत्री सीता को देखा और राक्षसों के साथ महान युद्ध किया। उन्हें पराजित कर तथा दिव्य अस्त्रों का सामना करते हुए वे लंका से लौटे।

English Meaning:
Hanuman protected Sugriva, the son of the Sun, crossed the ocean and found Sita, the daughter of the Earth, and fought mighty battles with the demons. After overcoming them and facing divine weapons, he returned from Lanka.

śaradhiyanu kaṭṭi balu rakkasaranu
orasi raṇadali daśaśirana huḍiguṭṭida
mereda hanumanta balavanta dhīra ॥ 9 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
उन्होंने भगवान हरि अर्थात् श्रीराम को चूड़ामणि प्रदान की, वानर सेना को संगठित किया और समुद्र पर सेतु बनवाया। उन्होंने भयंकर राक्षसों का संहार किया और युद्ध में दशमुख रावण को भी परास्त करने में महान पराक्रम दिखाया। ऐसे बलवान और धीर हनुमान की महिमा अद्भुत है।

English Meaning:
He gave the Chudamani to Lord Hari in the form of Sri Rama, united the Vanara forces, and helped build the bridge across the ocean. He destroyed mighty demons and displayed extraordinary valor in the battle against the ten-headed Ravana. Such were the strength and courage of Hanuman.

जब श्रेष्ठ वानर नागपाश में बंधकर मूर्छित हो गए और सूर्यवंश के तिलक श्रीराम की आज्ञा हुई, तब हनुमान पर्वत सहित संजीवनी औषधि को उठा लाए और वानरश्रेष्ठों को जीवन प्रदान किया। हनुमान के समान कौन हो सकता है?

English Meaning:
When the foremost Vanaras were bound by the serpent weapon and rendered unconscious, and upon the command of Sri Rama, the jewel of the solar dynasty, Hanuman brought the Sanjivani herb along with its mountain and restored their lives. Who can equal Hanuman?

vijaya raghupati mechchi dharaṇisuteyaḻigīye
bhajisi mauktikada hāravanu paḍeda
ajapadaviyanu rāma koḍevenene hanumanta
nija bhakutiyane bēḍi varava paḍeda ॥ 11 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
रघुपति श्रीराम ने उनकी विजय और सेवा से प्रसन्न होकर सीता को उनके प्रति सम्मान प्रकट करने को कहा। हनुमान ने मोतियों का हार प्राप्त किया, परंतु उन्होंने राम से किसी पद की इच्छा न करके केवल अपनी सच्ची भक्ति का वरदान माँगा।

English Meaning:
Pleased with Hanuman’s victory and devoted service, Raghupati Sri Rama had Sita honor him. Hanuman received a pearl necklace, yet instead of asking Rama for any position or worldly reward, he sought only the blessing of true devotion.

bhīma vikrama rakkasara muridoṭṭida
ā mahima namma kulagururāyanu ॥ 12 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
वही मारुत द्वापरयुग में भीम के रूप में प्रकट हुए। सोमवंश में जन्म लेकर उन्होंने पार्थ के साथ रहते हुए अपने महान पराक्रम से राक्षसों और शत्रुओं का विनाश किया। वही महान विभूति हमारे कुलगुरु हैं।

English Meaning:
That same Maruta appeared in the Dvapara Yuga as Bhima. Born in the lunar dynasty, he accompanied Partha and destroyed demons and enemies through his tremendous valor. That glorious being is our revered family preceptor.

karadinda śiśubhāvanāda bhīmana biḍalu
giravaḍidu śataśṛṅgavendenitu
harigaḻa harigaḻiṃ karigaḻa karigaḻiṃ
areva vīrarige sura nararu sariyē ॥ 13 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
जब बालक भीम को हाथ से छोड़ दिया गया, तब जिस पर्वत पर वे गिरे वह उनके भार से चूर होकर शतशृंग कहलाया। वे ऐसे वीर थे कि उनके समान बल और पराक्रम वाले देवता और मनुष्य भी दुर्लभ हैं।

English Meaning:
When the infant Bhima slipped from the hands holding him, the mountain upon which he fell was crushed and came to be known as Shatashringa. Such was his extraordinary strength and valor that few among gods or humans could equal him.

kurupa garaḻavanikke nere uṇḍu tēgi
hasiduragagaḻa myāle biḍaladanorasida
araginaramaneyalli uriyanikkalu vīra
dharisi jāhnavigoyda tannanujara ॥ 14 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
भीम ने कुरुओं द्वारा दिए गए विष को निर्भय होकर पी लिया और उसके प्रभाव से भी बचे रहे। भूखे विषैले सर्पों के ऊपर उन्हें छोड़ दिया गया, फिर भी वे उनसे अप्रभावित रहे। जब लाक्षागृह में आग लगाई गई, तब वीर भीम अपनी माता और भाइयों को लेकर सुरक्षित रूप से गंगा के तट तक पहुँचे।

English Meaning:
Bhima fearlessly consumed the poison given by the Kauravas and survived its effects. Even when he was cast among hungry poisonous serpents, he remained unharmed. When the lac house was set ablaze, the heroic Bhima carried his mother and brothers to safety toward the banks of the Ganga.

ella sujanarige haruṣava tōrida ॥ 15 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
उन्होंने बक और हिडिम्ब नामक राक्षसों तथा संसार के लिए कष्टदायक अन्य दुष्टों का नाश किया। शक्तिशाली असुरों को पराजित करके और द्रौपदी का हाथ थामकर उन्होंने सभी सज्जनों को प्रसन्नता प्रदान की।

English Meaning:
He destroyed the demons Baka and Hidimba and other wicked beings who troubled the world. After defeating powerful adversaries and joining hands with Draupadi, he brought joy to all virtuous people.

rājasūyāgavanu māḍisidanu
ājiyoḻu kauravara balava savaruvenendu
mūjagavariye kaṅkaṇa kaṭṭida ॥ 16 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
राजवंश के लिए वज्र के समान शक्तिशाली जरासंध अर्थात् मागध राजा का वध करके उन्होंने राजसूय यज्ञ सम्पन्न कराने में सहायता की। युद्धभूमि में कौरवों की सेना का संहार करने का संकल्प लेकर उन्होंने तीनों लोकों को ज्ञात अपना पराक्रम प्रकट किया।

English Meaning:
He destroyed Jarasandha, the powerful king of Magadha, who was like a thunderbolt to the royal lineage, thereby helping make the Rajasuya sacrifice possible. He took a solemn vow to overcome the strength of the Kauravas on the battlefield and displayed his valor known throughout the three worlds.

हिंदी अर्थ:
दानवों और दुष्टों का विनाश करने के लिए, मान-सम्मान की निधि द्रौपदी के मन की इच्छा को जानकर, वे वन में गए और किम्मीरा आदि राक्षसों का संहार किया। उन्होंने द्रौपदी के लिए सौगंधिक पुष्प भी लाकर दिया।

English Meaning:
Desiring to destroy demons and wicked beings, Bhima understood the wish in the heart of Draupadi, the treasure of honor. He entered the forest, destroyed Kimmira and other demons, and brought the Saugandhika flowers for her.

हिंदी अर्थ:
दुष्ट कीचक द्रौपदी के सौंदर्य पर मोहित होकर उसे सताने लगा। तब भीम ने मल्लयुद्ध के स्थान पर उसे बुलाकर उसके शरीर को चूर-चूर कर दिया और उसके बलवान कुल के अभिमान को नष्ट कर दिया।

English Meaning:
The wicked Kichaka, infatuated by Draupadi’s beauty, began to harass her. Bhima confronted him at the wrestling ground, crushed his body, and destroyed the pride of his powerful lineage.

vairi duśśāsanna raṇadalli eḍageḍahi
vīra narahariya līleya tōrida ॥ 19 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
उन्होंने कौरवों की सेना का सामना करके शत्रुओं को परास्त किया और अनेक कौरव योद्धाओं को नष्ट किया। युद्ध में शत्रु दुःशासन को भी पराजित करके उन्होंने भगवान नरहरि की लीला के समान अपना वीर पराक्रम दिखाया।

English Meaning:
He confronted the Kaurava forces, defeated his enemies, and destroyed many Kaurava warriors. In battle he overcame the enemy Dushasana and displayed heroic valor reminiscent of the divine play of Lord Narahari.

English Meaning:
When Ashvatthama, the son of the Guru, released the Narayanastra in battle and weapons rained forth, Bhima, protected by the grace of Hari, countered its force with his mighty roar.

प्रचंड पराक्रमी भीम ने गदा धारण करके युद्धभूमि में पृथ्वी पर उपस्थित सभी दुष्टों को चारों ओर से परास्त किया। ऐसे महापराक्रमी वृकोदर का प्रताप देखकर तीनों लोकों में उनके सामने कौन टिक सकता था?

English Meaning:
The fiercely valiant Bhima, wielding his mace, defeated the wicked warriors spread across the battlefield. Beholding the might of Vrikodara, who in the three worlds could stand before such tremendous valor?

dānavaru kaliyugadoḻavatarisi vibudharoḻu
vēnana matavanaruhaladanaritu
jñāni tā pavamāna bhūtaḻadoḻavatarisi

In the Kali Yuga, recognizing the influence and doctrines of the demonic forces, Pavamana, Vayu himself, incarnated upon Earth as a great knower of truth. He became renowned as Sri Madhvacharya, a treasure of spiritual glory.

nirbhayadi sakaḻa śāstrava paṭhisida
urviyoḻu māye bīralu tattvamārgavanu
ōrva madhvamuni tōrda sujanarge ॥ 23 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
बाल्यावस्था से ही बदरिकाश्रम में मध्वमुनि ने निर्भय होकर समस्त शास्त्रों का अध्ययन किया। जब संसार में माया और भ्रम का प्रभाव फैल रहा था, तब उन्होंने सज्जनों के लिए सत्य तत्त्व का मार्ग स्पष्ट रूप से दिखाया।

English Meaning:
From his early childhood, Madhva Muni fearlessly mastered the scriptures at Badari. When illusion and confusion spread throughout the world, he clearly revealed the path of truth and spiritual reality to the virtuous.

durvādigaḻa matava nere khaṇḍisi
sarvēśa hari viśva satyavendaruhidā

हिंदी अर्थ:
उन्होंने उन कुतर्कियों के मतों का पूर्ण खंडन किया जो कहते थे कि समस्त विश्व ही परमेश्वर हरि है। उन्होंने देवताओं और समस्त दिव्य परंपरा के मध्य यह सत्य प्रतिपादित किया कि हरि ही परमेश्वर हैं और यह विश्व सत्य है।

English Meaning:
He thoroughly refuted the doctrines of those who argued that the entire universe itself is identical with Lord Hari. Among the divine beings and the sacred spiritual tradition, he established the truth that Hari is the Supreme Lord and that the universe is real.

padakeragi akhiḻa vēdārthagaḻanu
padumanābhana mukhadi tiḻidu brahmatva
yaidida madhvamunirāyagabhivandipe ॥ 25 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
मैं उन मध्वमुनिराज को प्रणाम करता हूँ, जो पुनः बदरिकाश्रम गए, व्यासमुनि के चरणों में प्रणाम किया और उनके मुख से समस्त वेदों का अर्थ जाना तथा परमात्मा के स्वरूप और ब्रह्मतत्त्व का ज्ञान प्राप्त किया।

English Meaning:
I bow to Madhva Muni, who again went to Badarikashrama, bowed at the feet of Sage Vyasa, learned the complete meaning of the Vedas from him, and attained knowledge of the nature of the Supreme Lord and Brahman.

English Meaning:
Victory, victory to Madhvacharya, the sun who dispels the darkness of false doctrines. Victory to him who is like a lion before the elephants of disputation. Victory to him who is like a thunderbolt shattering the mountain of Charvaka pride. Victory to Jagannatha, Lord Madhva!

तुङ्गा नदी के तट की गुरु-परंपरा के श्रेष्ठ आचार्य को अपने हृदय-कमल में स्थापित करके, वे सज्जनों को बिना किसी कमी के सुख प्रदान करते हैं। हमारे अंतःस्थित मध्वस्वरूप भगवान रंगविठ्ठल को श्रद्धापूर्वक शरण ग्रहण करें।

English Meaning:
Enshrining the revered Guru of the Tungabhadra lineage within the lotus of the heart, He bestows unfailing happiness upon the virtuous. Let us wholeheartedly take refuge in Lord Ranga Vitthala, who abides within us as the inner Self of Madhva.

सोम या सूर्य ग्रहण के समय, पवित्र नदी के तट पर ब्राह्मणों को एक हजार गौओं का दान करके श्री मुकुन्द को अर्पित करने से जो फल प्राप्त होता है, वही फल इस मध्वनाम को लिखने और पढ़ने वाले को प्राप्त होता है।

English Meaning:
The merit gained by donating a thousand cows to worthy Brahmins on the bank of a sacred river during a lunar or solar eclipse and offering the act to Sri Mukunda is attained by one who writes and reads this Madhva Nama.

जो संतानहीन हैं, उन्हें योग्य पुत्र की प्राप्ति होती है। हर स्थान पर विजय और सफलता प्राप्त होती है, शत्रुओं का नाश होता है और अकाल मृत्यु का भय दूर होता है—केवल सूत्रनामक श्री मध्व की स्तुति करने मात्र से।
