Truth is God
THERE is God everywhere and there is no second entity anywhere. God is the truth, the only truth. In every article or thing, God is, as the basis, as understanding and understandability, as the source of Divine light, as’ Atma. Know that All exists, has awareness and bliss because of the Atma which All is. Truth is a word that is frequently used on platforms but the concept is still very hazy and often mistakenly interpreted. In reality, man is afraid of probing into his own truth, lest his pet opinions and attitudes be proved hollow and dangerous. As a result, his actions and thoughts pursue disturbing and discordant paths. What exactly is truth? Is it the description of a ‘thing seen’ as one has seen it, without exaggeration or under-statement? No. Or, the narration of an incident in the same word as one has heard it narrated? No. Truth elevates; it holds forth ideals; it inspires the individual and society. It is the Light that illumines Man’s path to God. A life inspired by Truth will enable man to live as man – not degrade himself to the status of a lower species. From dawn to dusk, from the moment of wakefulness to the moment of sleep, if he devotes himself to his own deeds, is that a life inspired by the Truth? No. By his good thoughts translated into good words and manifested as good deeds, man must promote Truth in society and prove its usefulness. He is the image of God. He must be aware of the image of God that shines in society also.
People are fascinated by the false
The thought that arises in the mind, the word that sprouts from the tongue and the deed that engages the hand must all three be fully co-ordinated. Each one must be in conformity with the other two. They must be in unison with each other. If you have one plan in your mind and talk of a different one and execute something else, it is a false life, not a true one. The ancient texts condemn such a person as a Dhuratma (evil person) and extol the person whose thought,Word and deed are all in line as a Mahatma (greatest soul). Nowadays, people are fascinated by the false and keep away from the true. They ignore the true and pursue the false. They are not eager to know the Truth, the eternal and the Absolute. Truth is the One Awareness, the One Divine Energy that activates every living being, nay, every particle of matter. The tiny seed of a banyan tree does not reveal to the human eye or to the microscope, the gigantic tree which it contains. The Divine Energy within it prompts it to expand and become the banyan. Every cell, every spot, every atom is Divine, full of vast destiny. The recognition of this Omnipresence of God is the mark of the theist. The atheist may proclaim that God is not, but, deep inside him one can find the awareness of the Omnipresence. That is his truth. Now, about my Truth. It is impossible for anyone to discover and declare the truth that is Sathya Sai. To ensure peace and prosperity is the task on which Sathya Sai has come amidst you. “Lokah samasthah sukhino bhavanthu” (Let all the worlds be happy). All mankind have to be happy; all must rest; in peace; all must be gladly engaged in fulfilling their duties. I long to shower anandha on all. It is not an easy achievement to recognise and identify Divinity. Yet, when the time is ripe and the fortune is imminent, that is to say, pretty soon, even that can be won by you.
Protect your mother-tongue and Motherland with all your energy. Make yourselves fit for this, by making the best use of the opportunities in the school. Progress as much as you can, without hesitation. Develop character as well as intelligence and health. The most reliable source of strength is in you, not in money, or kinsmen, or physical acumen, but, in yourself, the Atman (divinity). Know it; delve into it; draw sustenance from it; see it in all; serve it in all.

Truth is God: A Spiritual Path of Honesty, Courage, and Inner Purity
Truth is God is a powerful spiritual message that teaches human beings to live with honesty, purity, and moral courage. Many people search for God through rituals, temples, scriptures, prayers, and pilgrimages. These paths have their own value, but the deepest connection with the Divine begins when a person lives truthfully. Truth is not only a word spoken by the tongue; it is a way of thinking, feeling, acting, and living.
The teaching of Truth is God reminds us that real spirituality cannot be separated from truthful conduct. A person may pray every day, chant holy names, or visit sacred places, but if life is filled with lies, cheating, hypocrisy, and selfishness, devotion remains incomplete. God is not pleased by outer show alone. The real offering is a pure heart, honest speech, and righteous action.
Truth gives strength to the soul. A truthful person may face difficulty for some time, but the conscience remains peaceful. Lies may give temporary benefit, but they create fear inside. A person who lies must remember the lie, protect the lie, and often create more lies to hide the first one. This makes the mind restless. Truth, on the other hand, makes life simple and fearless.
Truth is God also teaches that truth should be practiced with love and wisdom. Speaking truth does not mean hurting others carelessly. Truth should not become a weapon of pride or harshness. A mature person speaks truth with kindness, timing, and compassion. The purpose of truth is not to insult, but to guide, correct, and purify.
In daily life, truth can be practiced in many simple ways. A student can be truthful by studying honestly and not cheating. A worker can be truthful by doing duty sincerely. A businessperson can be truthful by avoiding fraud and unfair profit. A friend can be truthful by being loyal and clear. A devotee can be truthful by accepting personal weaknesses and trying to improve.
When we say Truth is God, we also accept that falsehood takes us away from inner peace. Falsehood may appear attractive because it offers quick success, easy escape, or social approval. But it slowly weakens character. A person who repeatedly compromises truth loses self-respect. Without self-respect, even outer success feels empty.
Truth is closely connected with courage. Many people know what is right, but they do not follow it because they fear criticism, loss, rejection, or punishment. A truthful life requires bravery. It asks a person to stand with dharma even when the path is difficult. This courage does not come from ego; it comes from faith in righteousness.
Truth is God is also a reminder that truth begins within. Before speaking truth to others, a person must be honest with the self. Self-deception is very common. People justify anger, greed, jealousy, laziness, and ego by blaming others. But spiritual growth begins when one says, “I must look within and correct myself.” This inner honesty is the foundation of transformation.
Truth also improves relationships. Trust is built on truth. When people speak honestly and act sincerely, relationships become stronger. But when lies enter a relationship, doubt begins. Even one false action can damage years of trust. Therefore, truth is not only a personal virtue; it is the foundation of family, friendship, society, and spiritual life.
In society, truth is necessary for justice. If leaders, teachers, parents, workers, and citizens forget truth, corruption and confusion spread. A society may become rich in material terms, but without truth it becomes weak from inside. Truth protects human dignity and keeps moral order alive. It is the base of real civilization.
Truth should also be connected with humility. Sometimes people become proud of being truthful and begin judging others harshly. This is not true spirituality. A truthful person should also be humble because everyone is still learning. Truth should make the heart clean, not hard. It should create wisdom, not arrogance.
For modern life, this message is extremely important. Today, people often live under pressure to appear successful, perfect, happy, or powerful. Social media, competition, and material ambition can tempt people to hide reality and create false images. But inner peace cannot grow on falsehood. A simple truthful life is more valuable than a glamorous life built on pretence.
Ultimately, Truth is God teaches that the Divine is experienced through honesty, purity, courage, and right conduct. Truth is not only a moral rule; it is a spiritual path. When thoughts become truthful, speech becomes pure, and actions become righteous, the heart becomes peaceful. A life lived in truth becomes a prayer, and every sincere action becomes an offering to God.
