sa̠dyō jā̠ta-mpra̍padyā̠mi̠ sa̠dyō jā̠tāya̠ vai namō̠ nama̍ḥ ।
bha̠vē bha̍vē̠ nāti̍bhavē bhavasva̠ mām । bha̠vō-dbha̍vāya̠ nama̍ḥ ॥
pādābhyā-nnamaḥ । 1
English Meaning
I take refuge in Sadyojāta and offer repeated salutations to Sadyojāta. O Lord, remain with me through every form of existence and do not allow me to become trapped in worldly existence. O Source from whom all existence arises, I offer my salutations to You. Salutations to the feet. 1

vā̠ma̠dē̠vāya̠ namō̎ jyē̠ṣṭhāya̠ nama̍-śśrē̠ṣṭhāya̠ namō̍ ru̠drāya̠ nama̠ḥ
kālā̍ya̠ nama̠ḥ kala̍vikaraṇāya̠ namō̠ bala̍vikaraṇāya̠ namō̠ balā̍ya̠ namō̠
bala̍pramathanāya̠ nama̠ ssarva̍bhūtadamanāya̠ namō̍ ma̠nōnma̍nāya̠ nama̍ḥ ।
ūrumadhyamābhyā-nnamaḥ । 2
English Meaning
Salutations to Vāmadeva, to the Ancient One, to the Supreme One, and to Rudra. Salutations to Kāla, to the One who transforms the course of time, to the One who transforms and controls strength, to the embodiment of strength, to the One who subdues overwhelming power, to the One who restrains all beings, and to the One who transcends and elevates the mind. Salutations to the middle of the thighs. 2
a̠ghōrē̎bhyō ‘tha̠ghōrē̎bhyō̠ ghōra̠ghōra̍tarēbhyaḥ ।
sarvē̎bhya-ssarva̠ śarvē̎bhyō̠ nama̍stē astu ru̠drarū̍pēbhyaḥ ॥
hṛdayāya namaḥ । 3
English Meaning
Salutations to all the peaceful forms, to the non-fearful forms, and also to the fierce and most fearsome forms of Rudra. Salutations to every form of Rudra and to all the manifestations of Śarva. Salutations to the heart. 3
tatpuru̍ṣāya vi̠dmahē̍ mahādē̠vāya̍ dhīmahi ।
tannō̍ rudraḥ prachō̠dayā̎t ॥
mukhāya namaḥ । 4
English Meaning
We contemplate Tatpuruṣa and meditate upon Mahādeva. May Rudra inspire, guide, and illumine our intellect. Salutations to the face. 4
īśāna-ssarva̍vidyā̠nā̠-mīśvarasarva̍ bhūtā̠nā̠ṃ
brahmādhi̍pati̠-rbrahma̠ṇō-‘dhi̍pati̠-rbrahmā̍ śi̠vō mē̍ astu sadāśi̠vōm ॥
mūrdhnē namaḥ । 5
English Meaning
Īśāna is the Lord of all knowledge and the Lord of all beings. He is the Lord of Brahmā and the supreme Lord of Brahman. May that Brahman, who is Śiva and Sadāśiva, always be auspicious and gracious toward me. Salutations to the crown of the head. 5
