For Samastha Lokas…
How many of us know the value of the revised cosmic intonation of Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu??? It is time for the Maha Mantra to evolve from customary chanting to incessant, akhanda chanting…for global, cosmic Oneness… Supporting the cause of the Samastha Lokah… campaign here we have upcoming young talent, playback singer from Kerala, Kum Abhirami Ajai speaking on the absolute importance of the Maha Mantra… today, for a brighter tomorrow. Given below is the transcription of Abhirami’s short video on the Maha Mantra.
The very purpose of the Sai Avatar is to grant happiness, joy and bliss to all beings in all worlds at all times. Bhagawan’s one of the immortal statements is “Love lives by giving and forgiving; Self lives by getting and forgetting.” Throughout Bhagawan’s life He urged us to make our lives also an experience by loving, giving and forgiving . More specifically the period from 28 March to 27 April is indeed a boon granted by Bhagawan to us to turn inwards, move nearer and dearer to our Antharyami Sai.

In this process Bhagawan gives us the energy to transcend our limitations and spread Sai Love and Sai Care to all around us. In 2008, when Bhagawan made the profound revelation of the Universal Mantra ‘Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu’, Bhagawan transformed the act of prayer from a personal sadhana to collective one where one doesn’t pray for the fulfilment of one’s transient desires but for the wellbeing of all beings even in the worlds, we mortals aren’t aware of.
We are indeed the blessed ones, the ones enjoying the fruits of our past karmas (actions) to be living as Sai’s children and thereby chant this powerful and Universal peace prayer that has been taught and glorified by the Lord of the Cosmos HimSelf. While chanting this lets imagine the Sai within us growing and expanding beyond territorial boundaries and time, enveloping and embracing the whole universe in the warmth of His ultimate love and compassion. And here exists nothing but Sathya, Dharma, Shanti, Prema, Ahimsa……
For Samastha Lokas – A Sacred Prayer For Universal Peace And Welfare
For Samastha Lokas is a beautiful spiritual theme that expands the heart beyond personal wishes and narrow boundaries. It reminds us that true prayer is not only for ourselves, our family, or our community, but for all worlds, all beings, and all forms of life. A heart filled with divine love naturally prays for universal welfare.
Many people pray when they need help, protection, success, or relief from suffering. Such prayers are natural and sincere. But as devotion matures, prayer becomes wider. The devotee begins to feel the pain of others and asks God to bless everyone. This is the beginning of spiritual expansion.
For Samastha Lokas teaches that no being is separate from the Divine. Humans, animals, birds, plants, rivers, mountains, and unseen forms of life are all part of one sacred creation. When we pray for all, we recognize the unity of existence and the presence of God in every corner of creation.
Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba often emphasized love, service, and unity. His message guided devotees to move from selfish living to selfless living. To pray for all worlds is not only a noble thought; it is a reminder that our actions should also become kind, peaceful, and helpful.
For Samastha Lokas becomes meaningful when prayer turns into conduct. If we pray for peace but create conflict through harsh words, the prayer remains incomplete. If we pray for happiness for all but ignore the suffering around us, the feeling has not yet become real. Prayer must become compassion in action.
Universal welfare begins with small daily choices. Speaking gently, avoiding hatred, helping the needy, feeding the hungry, protecting nature, respecting all faiths, and forgiving others are simple but powerful ways to serve creation. Every good action becomes a living prayer when performed with love.
For Samastha Lokas also reminds us that the world needs inner peace as much as outer progress. Technology, wealth, and education may grow, but without compassion, humanity remains restless. Peace in the world begins with peace in the heart. A peaceful person spreads calmness wherever they go.
The prayer for all worlds teaches humility. It reduces the ego that says, “Only my happiness matters.” It opens the heart to a larger truth: every being seeks safety, love, comfort, and freedom from pain. When we understand this, our attitude becomes softer and more spiritual.
For Samastha Lokas finally teaches that devotion should never become limited or divisive. God does not belong to one group alone. The sun shines for all, the rain falls for all, and divine grace is available to all sincere hearts. A true devotee respects every path that leads to love, truth, and goodness.
Prayer, bhajan, namasmarana, meditation, and seva help us live in this spirit. Prayer purifies intention, bhajan fills the heart with devotion, namasmarana keeps the mind connected to God, meditation brings silence, and seva removes selfishness. Together, these practices make the heart broad and compassionate.
A person who prays for universal welfare should also learn to avoid causing harm. Hurtful speech, jealousy, anger, cruelty, and selfishness disturb the atmosphere around us. Kind thoughts, loving words, and noble actions create peaceful vibrations. Each person contributes either harmony or disturbance to the world.
The sacred feeling of praying for all beings brings deep joy. It frees the heart from narrow desires and fills life with meaning. When we wish good for others, our own mind becomes lighter. When we serve others, our own heart becomes purer. When we love all, we come closer to God.
In the end, For Samastha Lokas is a sacred reminder to pray, live, and serve for the welfare of all creation. It asks us to expand love beyond the self and become instruments of divine peace. When our thoughts are pure, words are kind, and actions are selfless, our life becomes a blessing for the world.
Never Forget…
