मङ्गलश्लोकाः

maṅgaḻaṃ bhagavānviṣṇurmaṅgaḻaṃ madhusūdanaḥ ।
maṅgaḻaṃ puṇḍarīkākṣō maṅgaḻaṃ garuḍadhvajaḥ ॥ 1 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
भगवान विष्णु मंगलमय हैं, मधुसूदन मंगलमय हैं। कमल-नेत्र भगवान मंगलमय हैं और गरुड़ध्वज धारण करने वाले प्रभु भी मंगलमय हैं।

English Meaning:
May Lord Vishnu bring auspiciousness; may Madhusudana bring auspiciousness. May the lotus-eyed Lord and the Lord whose banner bears Garuda bestow auspiciousness.

maṅgaḻaṃ kōsalēndrāya mahanīyaguṇābdhayē ।
chakravartitanūjāya sārvabhaumāya maṅgaḻam ॥ 2 ॥

कोसल के राजा, महान और पूजनीय गुणों के सागर, चक्रवर्ती सम्राट के पुत्र तथा सार्वभौम प्रभु श्रीराम को मंगल प्राप्त हो।

English Meaning:
May auspiciousness be upon the Lord of Kosala, the ocean of noble and exalted virtues, the son of the emperor, and the universal sovereign Lord Sri Rama.

vēdavēdāntavēdyāya mēghaśyāmalamūrtayē ।
puṃsāṃ mōhanarūpāya puṇyaślōkāya maṅgaḻam ॥ 3 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
जो वेद और वेदान्त से ही जाने जा सकते हैं, जिनका स्वरूप मेघ के समान श्याम है, जिनका रूप समस्त प्राणियों को मोहित करने वाला है और जो पुण्यश्लोक कहलाते हैं, उन श्रीराम को मंगल हो।

English Meaning:
May auspiciousness be upon Sri Rama, who is known through the Vedas and Vedanta, whose form is dark like a rain cloud, whose beauty enchants all beings, and whose glory is celebrated in sacred hymns.

viśvāmitrāntaraṅgāya mithilānagarīpatēḥ ।
bhāgyānāṃ paripākāya bhavyarūpāya maṅgaḻam ॥ 4 ॥

विश्वामित्र के हृदय के अत्यंत प्रिय, मिथिला के राजा जनक के सौभाग्य के पूर्ण फलस्वरूप प्राप्त, तथा अत्यंत मंगलमय स्वरूप वाले श्रीराम को मंगल हो।

English Meaning:
May auspiciousness be upon Sri Rama, who was dear to the heart of Vishwamitra, who was the consummation of the good fortune of Mithila’s king, and whose form is supremely auspicious.

pitṛbhaktāya satataṃ bhrātṛbhiḥ saha sītayā ।
nanditākhilalōkāya rāmachandrāya maṅgaḻam ॥ 5 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
जो सदैव अपने पिता के प्रति भक्तिभाव रखते हैं, भाइयों और माता सीता के साथ समस्त संसार को आनंद प्रदान करते हैं, उन रामचन्द्र को मंगल हो।

English Meaning:
May auspiciousness be upon Ramachandra, who is ever devoted to His father and who, together with His brothers and Sita, brings joy to the entire world.

tyaktasākētavāsāya chitrakūṭavihāriṇē ।
sēvyāya sarvayamināṃ dhīrōdāttāya maṅgaḻam ॥ 6 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
अयोध्या का निवास त्यागकर चित्रकूट में विचरण करने वाले, सभी संयमियों द्वारा सेवित तथा धीर और उदात्त स्वभाव वाले श्रीराम को मंगल हो।

English Meaning:
May auspiciousness be upon Sri Rama, who renounced His residence in Saketa, dwelt in Chitrakuta, is revered by all the self-controlled sages, and possesses a noble and majestic nature.

saumitriṇā cha jānakyā chāpabāṇāsidhāriṇā ।
saṃsēvyāya sadā bhaktyā sānujāyāstu maṅgaḻam ॥ 7 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
सुमित्रानंदन लक्ष्मण और जानकी के साथ, धनुष-बाण और तलवार धारण करने वाले, अपने अनुज सहित सदा भक्तिपूर्वक सेवित श्रीराम को मंगल हो।

English Meaning:
May auspiciousness be upon Sri Rama, accompanied by Lakshmana and Janaki, bearing bow, arrows, and sword, and ever worshipped with devotion together with His younger brother.

daṇḍakāraṇyavāsāya khaṇḍitāmaraśatravē ।
gṛdhrarājāya bhaktāya muktidāyāstu maṅgaḻam ॥ 8 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
दण्डकारण्य में निवास करने वाले, देवताओं के शत्रुओं का विनाश करने वाले और भक्त गृध्रराज जटायु को मुक्ति प्रदान करने वाले श्रीराम को मंगल हो।

English Meaning:
May auspiciousness be upon Sri Rama, who dwelt in the Dandaka forest, destroyed the enemies of the gods, and granted liberation to His devoted servant, the king of vultures, Jatayu.

sādaraṃ śabarīdattaphalamūlābhilāṣiṇē ।
saulabhyaparipūrṇāya sattvōdyuktāya maṅgaḻam ॥ 9 ॥

hanūmatsamavētāya harīśābhīṣṭadāyinē ।
vālipramathanāyāstu mahādhīrāya maṅgaḻam ॥ 10 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
हनुमान से संयुक्त, वानरराज सुग्रीव की मनोकामना पूर्ण करने वाले, वालि का संहार करने वाले और महान धैर्य एवं वीरता से युक्त श्रीराम को मंगल हो।

English Meaning:
May auspiciousness be upon Sri Rama, united with Hanuman, who fulfilled the desire of the vanara king Sugriva, destroyed Vali, and possesses supreme courage and steadfastness.

śrīmatē raghuvīrāya sētulaṅghitasindhavē ।
jitarākṣasarājāya raṇadhīrāya maṅgaḻam ॥ 11 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
श्रीसम्पन्न रघुवीर, समुद्र पर सेतु बनाकर उसे पार करने वाले, राक्षसराज को पराजित करने वाले और युद्ध में परम धीर श्रीराम को मंगल हो।

English Meaning:
May auspiciousness be upon the glorious Raghuvira, who crossed the ocean by means of the bridge, conquered the king of the Rakshasas, and remained supremely courageous in battle.

āsādya nagarīṃ divyāmabhiṣiktāya sītayā ।
rājādhirājarājāya rāmabhadrāya maṅgaḻam ॥ 12 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
दिव्य नगरी अयोध्या को पुनः प्राप्त करके, सीता सहित राज्याभिषेक प्राप्त करने वाले, राजाओं के भी राजा और रामभद्र को मंगल हो।

English Meaning:
May auspiciousness be upon Ramabhadra, who returned to the divine city of Ayodhya, was crowned together with Sita, and became the king of kings.

vibhīṣaṇakṛtē prītyā viśvābhīṣṭapradāyinē ।
jānakīprāṇanāthāya sadā rāmāya maṅgaḻam ॥ 13 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
विभीषण पर प्रेमपूर्वक कृपा करने वाले, समस्त संसार की मनोकामनाएँ पूर्ण करने वाले तथा जानकी के प्राणनाथ श्रीराम को सदा मंगल हो।

English Meaning:
May auspiciousness always be upon Sri Rama, who lovingly bestowed His grace upon Vibhishana, fulfills the cherished wishes of the world, and is the beloved Lord of Janaki.

śrīrāmaṃ trijagadguruṃ suravaraṃ sītāmanōnāyakaṃ
śyāmāṅgaṃ śaśikōṭipūrṇavadanaṃ chañchatkalākaustubham ।
saumyaṃ satyaguṇōttamaṃ susarayūtīrē vasantaṃ prabhuṃ

English Meaning:
I bow to Sri Rama, the Guru of the three worlds, foremost among the divine beings, beloved Lord of Sita, dark-hued in form, with a face radiant like millions of full moons and adorned with the Kaustubha jewel. I worship the gentle Lord, supreme in the virtue of truth, dwelling upon the beautiful banks of the Sarayu, the protector of all and the bestower of fulfillment of every noble aspiration.

मैं श्रीराघव को प्रणाम करता हूँ, जो दशरथ के पुत्र, असीम और अगम्य स्वरूप वाले, सीतापति तथा रघुवंश रूपी रत्न के प्रकाशस्वरूप हैं। जिनकी भुजाएँ घुटनों तक लंबी और नेत्र कमल-दल के समान विस्तृत हैं, तथा जो राक्षसों का विनाश करने वाले हैं।

English Meaning:
I bow to Sri Raghava, the son of Dasharatha, immeasurable and beyond comprehension, the Lord of Sita and the radiant jewel of the Raghu lineage. His arms reach to His knees, His eyes are broad like lotus petals, and He is the destroyer of the night-roaming Rakshasas.

rājēndrachandra raghuvaṃśasamudrachandra ।
sugrīvanētrayugaḻōtpala-pūrṇachandra
sītāmanaḥkumudachandra namō namastē ॥ 16 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
हे श्रीरामचन्द्र, करुणा के सागर, राघवों में श्रेष्ठ, राजाओं में चन्द्रमा के समान, रघुवंश रूपी समुद्र के चन्द्रमा! आप सुग्रीव के दोनों नेत्रों के कमलों के लिए पूर्ण चन्द्रमा तथा सीता के मनरूपी कुमुद के लिए चन्द्रमा हैं। आपको बार-बार प्रणाम है।

English Meaning:
O Sri Ramachandra, ocean of compassion, greatest of the Raghus, moon among kings, and moon illuminating the ocean of the Raghu lineage! You are the full moon to the lotus-like eyes of Sugriva and the moon that delights the water-lily of Sita’s heart. I bow to You again and again.

sītāmanōmānasarājahaṃsa
saṃsārasantāpahara kṣamāvan ।
śrīrāma daityāntaka śāntarūpa
śrītārakabrahma namō namastē ॥ 17 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
हे श्रीराम! आप सीता के मनरूपी मानस-सरोवर के राजहंस हैं, संसार के संताप को हरने वाले और क्षमाशील हैं। हे दैत्यों का अंत करने वाले, शांत स्वरूप और तारक ब्रह्मस्वरूप प्रभु! आपको बार-बार प्रणाम है।

English Meaning:
O Sri Rama, You are the royal swan dwelling in the lake of Sita’s mind, the remover of worldly suffering and the embodiment of forgiveness. O destroyer of demons, serene in form and the liberating Supreme Brahman, I bow to You again and again.

viṣṇō rāghava vāsudēva nṛharē dēvaughachūḍāmaṇē ।
saṃsārārṇavakarṇadhāraka harē kṛṣṇāya tubhyaṃ namaḥ ॥ 18 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
हे विष्णु, राघव, वासुदेव, नृहरि और देवसमूह के मुकुटमणि! हे संसार-सागर में मार्गदर्शक और उद्धार करने वाले हरि! हे कृष्णस्वरूप प्रभु! आपको प्रणाम है।

English Meaning:
O Vishnu, Raghava, Vasudeva, Narahari, and crest-jewel of the hosts of the gods! O Hari, the guide and helmsman who carries beings across the ocean of worldly existence, O Lord who is Krishna, I bow to You.

sugrīvādisamastavānaravaraissaṃsēvyamānaṃ sadā ।
viśvāmitraparāśarādimunibhissaṃstūyamānaṃ bhajē ॥ 19 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
मैं उन श्रीराम की भक्ति करता हूँ जिनकी सदा सुग्रीव आदि सभी श्रेष्ठ वानर भक्तिपूर्वक सेवा करते हैं और विश्वामित्र, पराशर आदि महान ऋषि जिनकी स्तुति करते हैं।

English Meaning:
I worship Sri Rama, who is ever served by Sugriva and all the foremost vanaras, and who is praised by great sages such as Vishvamitra and Parashara.

rāmaṃ chandanaśītalaṃ kṣitisutāmōhākaraṃ śrīkaraṃ
vaidēhīnayanāravindamihiraṃ sampūrṇachandrānanam ।
rājānaṃ karuṇāsamētanayanaṃ sītāmanōnandanaṃ

मैं राघव श्रीराम की सदा वंदना करता हूँ, जो चन्दन के समान शीतल हैं, पृथ्वी-कन्या सीता को मोहित करने वाले और मंगल प्रदान करने वाले हैं। वे वैदेही के नेत्ररूपी कमलों के सूर्य हैं, जिनका मुख पूर्ण चन्द्रमा के समान है। करुणा से भरे नेत्रों वाले राजा तथा सीता के मन को आनंद देने वाले प्रभु के सुंदर कपोल सीता के दर्पण के समान मनोहर हैं।

English Meaning:
I ever bow to Raghava Rama, who is cool and soothing like sandalwood, who enchants Sita, the daughter of the Earth, and who bestows auspiciousness. He is the sun to the lotus-like eyes of Vaidehi, with a face like the full moon. His compassionate eyes delight Sita’s heart, and His beautiful cheeks are charming like a mirror to Sita.

jānāti rāma tava nāmaruchiṃ mahēśō
jānāti gautamasatī charaṇaprabhāvam ।
jānāti dōrbalaparākramamīśachāpō
jānātyamōghapaṭubāṇagatiṃ payōdhiḥ ॥ 21 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
हे राम! आपके नाम की महिमा और मधुरता को महेश्वर जानते हैं। गौतम ऋषि की पत्नी अहल्या आपके चरणों के प्रभाव को जानती हैं। शिवधनुष आपके बाहुबल और पराक्रम को जानता है, और समुद्र आपके अचूक तथा तीक्ष्ण बाणों की गति को जानता है।

English Meaning:
O Rama, Maheshwara knows the sweetness and glory of Your name. Gautama’s wife Ahalya knows the power of Your sacred feet. The bow of Ishwara knows the strength and valor of Your arms, and the ocean knows the irresistible speed of Your sharp and unfailing arrows.

mātā rāmō matpitā rāmachandrō
bhrātā rāmō matsakhā rāghavēśaḥ ।
sarvasvaṃ mē rāmachandrō dāyāḻu-
rnānyaṃ daivaṃ naiva jānē na jānē ॥ 22 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
मेरे लिए राम ही माता हैं, रामचन्द्र ही पिता हैं। राम ही मेरे भाई और राघवेश ही मेरे मित्र हैं। श्रीरामचन्द्र ही मेरे सर्वस्व और परम दयालु प्रभु हैं। मैं किसी अन्य देवता को नहीं जानता, नहीं जानता।

English Meaning:
Rama is my mother, and Ramachandra is my father. Rama is my brother, and the Lord of the Raghus is my friend. Ramachandra is my everything and my compassionate Lord. I know no other deity; I know none other.

vimalakamalanētraṃ visphurannīlagātraṃ
tapanakulapavitraṃ dānavadhvantamitram ।
bhuvanaśubhacharitraṃ bhūmiputrīkaḻatraṃ
daśarathavaraputraṃ naumi rāmākhyamitram ॥ 23 ॥

मैं राम नामक उस दिव्य मित्र को प्रणाम करता हूँ जिनके नेत्र निर्मल कमल के समान हैं, जिनका शरीर नील वर्ण का है, जो सूर्यवंश को पवित्र करने वाले, दानवरूपी अंधकार के शत्रु और संसार में शुभ चरित्र के आदर्श हैं। जो भूमिपुत्री सीता के पति और दशरथ के वरदानी पुत्र हैं।

I bow to the divine friend known as Rama, whose eyes are pure like lotuses and whose body shines with a dark-blue hue. He sanctifies the solar dynasty, destroys the darkness of demonic forces, and embodies auspicious conduct throughout the world. He is the husband of Sita, daughter of the Earth, and the blessed son of Dasharatha.

vēdyāṃ vēdyāṃ kinnarībṛndagītam ।
gītē gītē mañjulālāpagōṣṭhī

हे रामचन्द्र! प्रत्येक मार्ग पर वृक्षों के नीचे मानो रत्नों से बनी वेदियाँ दिखाई देती हैं। प्रत्येक वेदी पर किन्नरियों के समूह आपके गुण गाते हैं। प्रत्येक गीत में मधुर संवाद सुनाई देता है और प्रत्येक सभा में आपकी ही कथा का गान होता है।

English Meaning:
O Ramachandra, on every path, beneath the trees, sacred platforms seem to shine like jewels. Upon every altar, groups of celestial singers chant Your glory. In every song there are delightful conversations, and in every gathering Your divine story is sung.

vṛkṣē vṛkṣē vīkṣitāḥ pakṣisaṅghāḥ
saṅghē saṅghē mañjulāmōdavākyam ।
vākyē vākyē mañjulālāpagōṣṭhī
gōṣṭhyāṃ gōṣṭhyāṃ tvatkathā rāmachandra ॥ 25 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
हे रामचन्द्र! प्रत्येक वृक्ष पर पक्षियों के समूह दिखाई देते हैं। प्रत्येक समूह से मधुर और आनंददायक वाणी सुनाई देती है। प्रत्येक वाणी में मनोहर संवाद है और प्रत्येक सभा में आपकी ही पावन कथा का गान होता है।

English Meaning:
O Ramachandra, birds are seen upon every tree, and from every gathering of birds comes sweet and joyful speech. Every utterance becomes a delightful conversation, and in every gathering Your sacred story is heard.

duritatimirachandrō duṣṭakañjātachandraḥ
surakuvalayachandrassūryavaṃśābdhichandraḥ ।
svajananivahachandraśśatrurājīvachandraḥ
praṇatakumudachandraḥ pātu māṃ rāmachandraḥ ॥ 26 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
रामचन्द्र पापरूपी अंधकार के लिए चन्द्रमा के समान शीतल प्रकाश हैं, दुष्टों के लिए कठोर और देवताओं के लिए आनंददायक चन्द्रमा हैं। वे सूर्यवंश रूपी समुद्र के चन्द्रमा, अपने भक्तों के प्रिय चन्द्रमा, शत्रुओं के लिए सूर्य के समान तथा शरणागत भक्तों के लिए कुमुदिनी के चन्द्रमा हैं। ऐसे रामचन्द्र मेरी रक्षा करें।

English Meaning:
May Ramachandra protect me. He is like the moon that dispels the darkness of sin, yet is a blazing force against the wicked; He is a delightful moon to the gods, the moon of the ocean of the Solar dynasty, the beloved moon of His people, a sun to His enemies, and a soothing moon to those who surrender to Him.

kaḻyāṇadaṃ kauśikayajñapālaṃ
kaḻānidhiṃ kāñchanaśailadhīram ।
kañjātanētraṃ karuṇāsamudraṃ
kākutstharāmaṃ kalayāmi chittē ॥ 27 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
मैं अपने चित्त में काकुत्स्थ श्रीराम का ध्यान करता हूँ, जो कल्याण प्रदान करने वाले, कौशिक अर्थात् विश्वामित्र के यज्ञ की रक्षा करने वाले, कलाओं के भंडार, स्वर्ण पर्वत के समान स्थिर और कमल-नेत्रों वाले करुणा के सागर हैं।

English Meaning:
I meditate in my heart upon Kakutstha Rama, the bestower of auspiciousness, protector of the sacrifice of Kaushika Vishvamitra, treasure-house of all arts, firm like a golden mountain, lotus-eyed, and an ocean of compassion.

rājīvāyatalōchanaṃ raghuvaraṃ nīlōtpalaśyāmalaṃ
mandārāñchitamaṇḍapē sulalitē sauvarṇakē puṣpakē ।
āsthānē navaratnarājikhachitē siṃhāsanē saṃsthitaṃ
sītālakṣmaṇalōkapālasahitaṃ vandē munīndrāspadam ॥ 28 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
मैं उन रघुवर श्रीराम को प्रणाम करता हूँ जिनके नेत्र कमल के समान विशाल हैं और जिनका वर्ण नीलकमल के समान श्याम है। वे सुंदर स्वर्णिम पुष्पक विमान के मंडप में, मंदार पुष्पों से सुसज्जित, नवरत्नों से जड़ित सिंहासन पर विराजमान हैं तथा सीता, लक्ष्मण और लोकपालों से घिरे हुए हैं। वे महान मुनियों के आश्रय हैं।

English Meaning:
I bow to Raghurama, whose eyes are broad like lotuses and whose complexion is dark like a blue lotus. He is seated upon a jewel-studded throne in a beautiful golden Pushpaka setting adorned with Mandara blossoms, accompanied by Sita, Lakshmana, and the guardians of the worlds. He is the refuge of the great sages.

dhyāyē rāmaṃ sudhāṃśuṃ natasakalabhavāraṇyatāpaprahāram ।
śyāmaṃ śāntaṃ surēndraṃ suramunivinutaṃ kōṭisūryaprakāśam ।
sītāsaumitrisēvyaṃ suranarasugamaṃ divyasiṃhāsanastham ।
sāyāhnē rāmachandraṃ smitaruchiramukhaṃ sarvadā mē prasannam ॥ 29 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
मैं राम का ध्यान करता हूँ, जो अमृतमय चन्द्रमा के समान हैं और संसाररूपी वन के ताप से पीड़ित शरणागतों के दुःख को दूर करते हैं। वे श्यामवर्ण, शांत, देवताओं के अधिपति, देवों और मुनियों द्वारा स्तुत तथा करोड़ों सूर्यों के समान प्रकाशमान हैं। सीता और सौमित्रि द्वारा सेवित, देवों और मनुष्यों के लिए सहज सुलभ, दिव्य सिंहासन पर विराजमान और मुस्कान से सुशोभित मुख वाले रामचन्द्र सायंकाल भी मेरे प्रति सदा प्रसन्न रहें।

English Meaning:
I meditate upon Rama, radiant like the nectar-bearing moon, who removes the suffering of those scorched by the forest of worldly existence. He is dark-hued, peaceful, Lord of the divine beings, praised by gods and sages, and radiant like millions of suns. Served by Sita and Saumitra, easily accessible to gods and humans, seated upon a divine throne, and possessing a beautifully smiling face, may Ramachandra always remain gracious toward me.

vandanīyamasakṛnmunibṛndaiḥ ।
lambamānatulasīvanamālaṃ
chintayāmi satataṃ raghuvīram ॥ 30 ॥

The Rama Mantra is the universal mantra that removes the fear of the ocean of worldly existence. It is directly practiced by those who sincerely seek liberation. It is the divine mantra abiding in the hands of the Lord who bears the Sharnga bow and is the mantra of Kaivalya. Therefore, constantly worship the Rama Mantra.

हिंदी अर्थ:
उस मंत्र की बार-बार जय हो, जो मानव जन्म को सफल बनाने वाला है और जन्म-मरण के बंधन तथा उससे उत्पन्न क्लेशों को काट देता है। यह सभी निगमों का सारमंत्र, समस्त शास्त्रों का श्रेष्ठ मंत्र और रघुपति का निज मंत्र है—‘राम राम’।

English Meaning:
Victory, victory to the Rama Mantra, the mantra that makes human birth fruitful and cuts through the bondage and suffering of birth and death. It is the essence of all sacred scriptures and the supreme mantra of all Shastras, the personal mantra of Raghupati—“Rama, Rama.”

jagati viśadamantraṃ jānakīprāṇamantraṃ
vibudhavinutamantraṃ viśvavikhyātamantram ।

English Meaning:
The Rama Mantra is a pure and radiant mantra throughout the world, dear as life to Janaki. It is praised by the gods and renowned everywhere. It is the mantra of the son of Dasharatha, the destroyer of demons, and the personal mantra of Raghupati—“Rama, Rama.”

मैं रघुराम के उस मंत्र की वंदना करता हूँ जिसकी पूजा ब्रह्मा आदि देवताओं, योगियों और मुनियों द्वारा की जाती है। यह दरिद्रता, दुःख और संसाररूपी रोग का नाश करने वाला है तथा संसार-सागर से पार कराने का श्रेष्ठ साधन है। यह महान भय को दूर करने वाला मंत्र है।

English Meaning:
I bow to the mantra of Raghurama, worshipped by Brahma, the gods, yogis, and sages. It destroys poverty, suffering, and the disease of worldly existence. It is the supreme means for crossing the ocean of samsara and removes even the greatest fear.

हे जिह्वा! श्रीराम मंत्र का बार-बार जप करो। यह शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाला मंत्र, उपनिषदों के सारभूत वचनों द्वारा पूजनीय मंत्र और संसार से पार कराने वाला मंत्र है। उचित समय पर आसक्ति से मुक्ति दिलाने वाला, समस्त ऐश्वर्य प्रदान करने वाला और दुःखरूपी सर्प के दंश से रक्षा करने वाला यह मंत्र मानव जन्म को सफल बनाता है।

English Meaning:
O tongue, chant the Sri Rama Mantra again and again. It destroys enemies and is honored by the profound teachings of the Upanishads. It carries one beyond worldly existence, frees one from attachment at the proper time, bestows all forms of spiritual and worldly prosperity, and protects one bitten by the serpent of suffering. It makes human birth fruitful.

English Meaning:
The Sri Rama Mantra is eternal, incomparable, and supreme, bestowing righteous wisdom and noble understanding. It is the embodiment of truth and grants enduring well-being to the pure-hearted. It is worthy of praise and brings happiness and good fortune to a gentle mind. May this Rama Mantra, which granted blessings to Hanuman, the son of the Wind, protect me.

हे मन! श्रीराम नामरूपी औषधि का पान करो। यह मोह को शांत करने वाली, मुनियों के चंचल मन को नियंत्रित करने वाली, दैत्यों का उन्मूलन करने वाली और संसार के भय का पूर्ण नाश करने वाली औषधि है। यह भक्तों को आनंद देने वाली, तीनों लोकों में संजीवनी के समान और परम कल्याण प्रदान करने वाली औषधि है।

English Meaning:
O mind, drink the medicine of Sri Rama’s name. It calms delusion, steadies the movements of the minds of sages, uproots demonic forces, and completely destroys the fear of worldly existence. It brings joy to devotees, is like a life-restoring medicine throughout the three worlds, and bestows the highest good.

May the jewel of Rama protect me—the jewel of all worlds and of Sat-Chit-Ananda. He is the jewel cherished in every heart and the divine jewel within the solar orb. He is the jewel of pure merit, the jewel of the Vedas and Vedanta, and the sacred jewel of the mantra repeated by Lord Shiva.

yasya kiñchidapi nō haraṇīyaṃ
karma kiñchidapi nō charaṇīyam ।

जिसका कुछ भी हरण नहीं करना चाहिए, कोई भी अनुचित कर्म नहीं करना चाहिए। सदैव रामनाम का स्मरण करना चाहिए और उसी के द्वारा सहज भाव से संसाररूपी जलराशि को पार करना चाहिए।

English Meaning:
Nothing that belongs to another should ever be taken, and no unrighteous action should be performed. The name of Rama should always be remembered, and through it one should effortlessly cross the ocean of worldly existence.

I worship Sri Rama, the jewel of the Raghu dynasty, seated upon a jeweled throne beneath the Mandara tree, immersed in divine nectar and manifesting the cosmic Virat form. He abides as the transcendent Turiya beyond Bindu, Nada, and their ultimate principle.

I worship the liberating Rama who dwells in the lotus-hearts of countless beings and whose name itself is a radiant ornament. The three worlds are purified by His name and praise; He embodies the principle of the eight-syllabled Narayana Mantra. His form is bathed in the nectar flowing from the moon at the culmination of Nada, He abides as pure consciousness in countless beings, and shines like millions of suns at the end of cosmic ages.

I worship Raghupati Rama together with Sita, whose eyes resemble red lotuses, who is pure and destroyed the Lord of Lanka. He is the delight of Kausalya’s eyes and the foremost of the Raghus. He reclines upon the serpent king Shesha, is Hari, and His chest is adorned by the sacred vermilion of Vaidehi. He has assumed a human form through divine Maya.

English Meaning:
I worship Sri Rama together with Sita, the destroyer of Rakshasas, foremost of the Raghus, and destroyer of demonic forces. He granted Sugriva his desired kingdom and ended the fear associated with the Lord of the gods. He bears the Sharnga bow, grants fearlessness to devotees, removes fear, and destroys the multitude of sins. His lotus feet are praised by Samiri, Hanuman, the son of the Wind.

English Meaning:
I worship Raghava together with Sita, whose lotus-foot dust granted liberation to the sage’s wife Ahalya, whose glory is sacred and destroys sins, and whose remembrance purifies the three worlds. I worship the immeasurable and stainless Rama, whose gentle smile resembles the full moon and whose eyes are like lotuses.

I worship Raghupati Sri Rama together with Sita, seated in the great pavilion at the center of the sacred celestial forest-city. The pavilion is supported by sixteen thousand golden pillars and situated beneath the Mandara tree. Upon a pure and magnificent throne adorned with many precious jewels, Rama is seated, served by Sita and Lakshmana.

At dawn I worship the lotus-hands of Raghunatha, which strike fear into hosts of Rakshasas and grant blessings to His devotees. In the royal assembly, those hands broke the mighty bow of Mahesha, whereby He immediately attained the auspicious privilege of taking Sita’s hand in marriage.

At dawn I bow to the lotus feet of Raghunatha, marked with auspicious signs such as the lotus and goad and bestowing blessings. These feet are worshipped by the bee-like minds of great yogis. They instantly removed the curse of Ahalya, the chaste wife of Sage Gautama.

At dawn I utter the name of Raghunatha, which removes defects of speech and destroys every impurity and sin. Goddess Parvati too lovingly repeated this name together with her husband Lord Shiva, as it is regarded as equal in power and merit to a thousand names of Hari.

मेरी वाणी सदा ‘राम राम’ का उच्चारण करती रहे। मेरे चित्त की सदा श्रीराम के चरणकमलों में विजय और स्थिरता हो। मेरा शरीर निरंतर श्रीरामचन्द्र को प्रणाम करता रहे और जन्म-जन्मांतर में मेरे कोई पाप न रहें।

English Meaning:
May my speech always utter “Rama, Rama.” May my mind ever remain victorious in devotion to the lotus feet of Rama. May my body constantly bow to Ramachandra, and may I be free from sin through all births and future incarnations.

ānandarūpaṃ varadaṃ prasannaṃ
siṃhēkṣaṇaṃ sēvakapārijātam ।
nīlōtpalāṅgaṃ bhuvanaikamitraṃ

The name of Sri Rama is the seed of the nectar-like mantra. When firmly established in the mind, it becomes life-restoring like Sanjivani. It can render powerless even the deadly Halahala poison, the fire of dissolution, and the very jaws of death.

If the glory of Sri Rama of the Raghu lineage does not awaken devotion, what is the use of the Yoga scriptures? What is the value of all learning, sacrifices, and sacred pilgrimages such as the Ganga? What benefit is there even in the disciplined observance of the Brahmacharya stage of life?

idaṃ śarīraṃ ślathasandhijarjharaṃ
patatyavaśyaṃ pariṇāmapēśalam ।
kimauṣathaṃ pṛchChasi mūḍha durmatē

This body, weakened by loose joints and worn away by old age, will inevitably fall. O foolish and misguided one, what medicine are you asking about? Drink the nectar of the story of Sri Rama, which brings freedom from affliction and suffering.

hē rāmabhadrāśraya hē kṛpāḻō
hē bhaktalōkaikaśaraṇyamūrtē ।
