The power of Hiranyagarbha Lingam
It was Summer course 1991. This summer courses are conducted once in a year. Swami conducts this in the summer of every year at Whitefield, Bangalore.
When the Hiranyagarbha lingam was created there was a doctor from London. This doctor M.Dorai Singam was very much impressed with this Hiranyagarbha lingam and purchased the photograph of this and kept with him.
It was June 7th 1991 he was standing near the entrance of Brindavan and looking at the photograph at 10 am. His attention was drawn by the cries of a women who was holding the dead body of her 8 years old kid. He was killed when he fell over a lorry.
The doctor in him examined and tried to create artificial respiration in him by rubbing and beating on the chest of the boy.
There was no use. As a last resort he took the photograph from his pocket and put on the chest of the boy and prayed sincerely the God to save the kid. Unbelievable, The kid got up and cried as if he just took birth.
To the surprise of everyone present there he walked as if nothing had happened. Some people went and checked for injuries, the doctor also could not believe his eyes.
He personally took the kid to the hospital and got him examined. The boy was fine and was discharged immediately.
The life saving force in the photograph was very powerful and saved the lives of many people there after.
The Power of Hiranyagarbha Lingam – A Sacred Symbol of Creation and Divine Grace
The power of Hiranyagarbha Lingam is a deeply spiritual theme that points toward the mystery of creation, divine energy, and inner awakening. Hiranyagarbha means the golden womb or the cosmic source from which creation emerges. In spiritual understanding, it represents the divine origin of the universe, the hidden light from which all life, forms, thoughts, and worlds arise. The Lingam is not just a symbol; it is a reminder of the formless Divine taking a sacred form for human understanding.
The power of Hiranyagarbha Lingam teaches that creation is not accidental or empty. Behind the movement of planets, the rhythm of nature, the birth of life, and the working of the human body, there is a divine intelligence. The sun rises, rivers flow, flowers bloom, and the heart beats without our command. These wonders show that a higher order silently supports existence. The Hiranyagarbha Lingam represents that sacred source from which everything begins and into which everything finally returns.
In the presence of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the Hiranyagarbha Lingam carried special meaning for devotees. It was connected with divine manifestation, cosmic energy, and the mystery of God’s will. Devotees did not look at it as an ordinary object. They saw it as a sign of divine power, purity, and universal love. Such a sacred manifestation strengthened faith and reminded people that the Divine is beyond the limits of ordinary human understanding.
The power of Hiranyagarbha Lingam also reminds us that God is both beyond form and present in form. The human mind often needs a symbol to focus devotion. A sacred form helps the heart pray, surrender, and feel connected with the unseen Divine. But the form should not make us forget the formless truth behind it. The Lingam points toward the infinite, the eternal, and the all-pervading presence of God.
This sacred symbol also teaches purity. Gold is often connected with brightness, value, and purity. Hiranyagarbha, as the golden cosmic principle, inspires devotees to purify their own inner life. The real spiritual journey is not only about seeing miracles or worshipping sacred objects. It is about removing anger, pride, greed, jealousy, and selfishness from the heart. When the heart becomes pure, divine light can shine more clearly within.
The power of Hiranyagarbha Lingam is also connected with creation within ourselves. Every human being carries hidden divine potential. Good thoughts, noble actions, compassion, truth, and devotion are born from the inner spiritual womb of the heart. Just as the universe emerges from the cosmic source, a better life emerges from a purified mind. When a person lives with discipline and love, the divine energy within begins to express itself.
A sacred experience should always lead to transformation. If a devotee witnesses or hears about a divine manifestation and only feels curiosity, the deeper meaning is missed. The purpose of such a blessing is to awaken faith, humility, and selfless service. Baba always guided devotees toward truth, love, peace, right conduct, and non-violence. Therefore, any sacred symbol connected with Him should inspire better living.
The power of Hiranyagarbha Lingam also teaches unity. Since all creation comes from one divine source, no person should feel superior or separate from others. Differences of religion, caste, country, language, and status belong to the outer world. The inner truth is one. The same divine spark lives in every heart. When this understanding grows, hatred reduces and compassion becomes natural.
Devotion to such a sacred symbol should not remain limited to worship alone. It should enter daily conduct. A person who remembers the Divine should speak gently, act honestly, help the needy, respect elders, and serve society without pride. Prayer becomes meaningful when it changes behavior. Worship becomes complete when it turns into love for all beings.
The power of Hiranyagarbha Lingam also gives strength during difficult times. Life may bring illness, loss, confusion, or fear, but remembrance of the Divine gives courage. The Lingam represents stability, eternity, and the unchanging truth behind changing life. When the mind becomes restless, meditating on such a sacred symbol can bring peace and surrender. It reminds the devotee that God is the source, support, and final refuge of all.
In the end, the power of Hiranyagarbha Lingam is not only about divine manifestation; it is about the awakening of the soul. It teaches us to see creation as sacred, life as purposeful, and the heart as a temple of divine light. When we live with purity, humility, love, and service, we honor the true meaning of this sacred symbol. The greatest worship is to let divine qualities shine through our thoughts, words, and actions.
