viharati vanē rādhā sādhāraṇapraṇayē harau vigalitanijōtkarṣādīrṣyāvaśēna gatānyataḥ ।
kvachidapi latākuñjē guñjanmadhuvratamaṇḍalī-mukharaśikharē līnā dīnāpyuvācha rahaḥ sakhīm ॥ 14 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
श्रीहरि के साथ राधा के सामान्य प्रेम-विहार को देखकर, अपने विशेष प्रेम और अधिकार के भाव से उत्पन्न ईर्ष्या के कारण राधा वहाँ से दूसरी ओर चली गईं। कहीं एक लता-कुंज में, जहाँ भौंरों के समूह की गुंजार चारों ओर गूँज रही थी, वे दुखी होकर छिप गईं और एकांत में अपनी सखी से कहने लगीं।

English Meaning:
Seeing Hari sporting in common affection with the other women, Radha, overcome by jealousy arising from her own deep sense of exclusive love, withdrew to another place. She hid herself in a creeper bower filled with the humming of swarms of bees and, distressed, spoke privately to her companion.

sañcharadadharasudhāmadhuradhvanimukharitamōhanavaṃśam ।
chalitadṛgañchalachañchalamaulikapōlavilōlavataṃsam ॥
rāsē harimiha vihitavilāsaṃ smarati manō mama kṛtaparihāsam ॥ 1 ॥

मेरा मन उस श्रीहरि का स्मरण कर रहा है, जो अपने अधरों से बहने वाले अमृत के समान मधुर स्वर से मोहक बाँसुरी बजाते हैं, जिनकी चंचल दृष्टि, हिलते हुए सिर और गालों पर झूलते कुंडल अत्यंत मनोहर हैं और जो रास में प्रेमपूर्ण क्रीड़ा करते हैं तथा मुझसे हँसी-मजाक करते थे।

English Meaning:
My mind remembers Hari, whose enchanting flute resounds with the sweet nectar-like music from His lips, whose playful glances, moving head, and swinging earrings upon His cheeks are captivating, and who delighted in playful sports and loving jest with me during the Rasa.

chandrakachārumayūraśikhaṇḍakamaṇḍalavalayitakēśam ।
prachurapurandaradhanuranurañjitamēduramudirasuvēśam ॥ 2 ॥

मेरा मन उस श्रीकृष्ण का स्मरण करता है जिनके केश सुंदर चंद्राकार मयूर-पंख से सुशोभित हैं और जिनका श्यामल रूप प्रचुर इंद्रधनुष से घिरे हुए घने मेघ के समान मनोहर दिखाई देता है।

English Meaning:
My mind remembers Krishna, whose hair is adorned with a beautiful crescent-like peacock feather, and whose dark, majestic form resembles a dense rain cloud beautifully surrounded by a magnificent rainbow.

मेरा मन उस कृष्ण को स्मरण करता है जो सुंदर नितंबों वाली गोपियों के मुख का चुंबन लेने के लिए उत्सुक रहते हैं और जिनके बंधुजीव पुष्प के समान लाल एवं मधुर अधरों पर खिली हुई मुस्कान की अद्भुत शोभा है।

English Meaning:
My mind remembers Krishna, eager to kiss the faces of the graceful Gopis, whose sweet red lips resemble the bandhujiva flower and whose radiant smile enhances His beauty.

karacharaṇōrasi maṇigaṇabhūṣaṇakiraṇavibhinnatamisram ॥ 4 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
मेरा मन उस कृष्ण को स्मरण करता है, जिन्हें रोमांच से भुजाओं को फैलाए हुए हजारों गोपियाँ घेरे हुए हैं। उनके हाथों, चरणों और वक्षस्थल पर धारण किए गए मणिमय आभूषणों की किरणें चारों ओर के अंधकार को दूर कर रही हैं।

English Meaning:
My mind remembers Krishna, surrounded by thousands of Gopis whose arms are thrilled with love. The rays from the jeweled ornaments adorning His hands, feet, and chest dispel the surrounding darkness.

jaladapaṭalavaladinduvinandakachandanatilakalalāṭam ।
pīnapayōdharaparisaramardananirdayahṛdayakavāṭam ॥ 5 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
मेरा मन उस कृष्ण का स्मरण करता है जिनका ललाट चंदन के तिलक से सुशोभित है और जिनका मुख घने मेघों के बीच चमकते चंद्रमा को भी मात देता है। गोपियों के उन्नत वक्षस्थलों के आलिंगन से उनका हृदय प्रेम की तीव्रता से भर उठता है।

English Meaning:
My mind remembers Krishna, whose forehead bears a sandalwood mark and whose face surpasses the beauty of the moon shining amid dense clouds. His heart is overwhelmed by the passionate embraces of the Gopis.

My mind remembers the gracious Krishna, whose cheeks are adorned with beautiful makara-shaped jeweled earrings, who wears yellow garments, and who is attended by sages, humans, gods, and distinguished celestial beings.

viśadakadambatalē militaṃ kalikaluṣabhayaṃ śamayantam ।
māmapi kimapi taraṅgadanaṅgadṛśā manasā ramayantam ॥ 7 ॥

मेरा मन उस कृष्ण का स्मरण करता है जो निर्मल कदंब वृक्ष के नीचे एकत्र होकर कलियुग के पापों और भय को शांत करते हैं और अपनी प्रेम से तरंगित दृष्टि से मेरे मन को भी किसी अद्भुत आनंद से भर देते हैं।

English Meaning:
My mind remembers Krishna beneath the pure kadamba tree, who dispels the fears and impurities of the age of Kali and enchants my heart with His love-filled, wave-like glance.

English Meaning:
This exceedingly beautiful and enchanting form of Madhuripu Krishna, described by Sri Jayadeva, is worthy of remembrance by the virtuous who seek to remember the lotus feet of Hari.

gaṇayati guṇagrāmaṃ bhāmaṃ bhramādapi nēhatē vahati cha paritōṣaṃ dōṣaṃ vimuñchati dūrataḥ ।
yuvatiṣu valastṛṣṇē kṛṣṇē vihāriṇi māṃ vinā punarapi manō vāmaṃ kāmaṃ karōti karōmi kim ॥ 15 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
राधा कहती हैं—वह कृष्ण अन्य युवतियों के गुणों की प्रशंसा करते हैं, भ्रमवश भी मेरी ओर ध्यान नहीं देते और उनके साथ प्रसन्न होकर विहार करते हैं। हे सखी! जब कृष्ण मेरे बिना ही युवतियों में अपनी इच्छा पूरी कर रहे हैं और मेरा मन फिर भी उन्हीं के प्रति आकर्षित हो रहा है, तब मैं क्या करूँ?

English Meaning:
Radha says: Krishna counts the virtues of other young women, does not even turn toward me, and enjoys himself happily with them. O friend, when Krishna delights among other women without me, yet my own heart continues to desire only him, what can I do?

॥ gītaṃ 6 ॥

nibhṛtanikuñjagṛhaṃ gatayā niśi rahasi nilīya vasantam ।
chakitavilōkitasakaladiśā ratirabhasarasēna hasantam ॥
sakhi hē kēśimathanamudāraṃ ramaya mayā saha madanamanōrathabhāvitayā savikāram ॥ 1 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
हे सखी! रात्रि में एकांत कुंज-गृह में छिपकर बैठे हुए, चारों दिशाओं को चकित होकर देखते और प्रेम के उल्लास में मुस्कुराते हुए उदार केशिमर्दन श्रीकृष्ण को मेरे पास ले आओ। कामदेव की प्रेम-भावना से व्याकुल मैं उनके साथ प्रेमपूर्वक क्रीड़ा करना चाहती हूँ।

English Meaning:
O friend! Bring to me the gracious Krishna, the slayer of Keshi, who has gone into a secluded bower at night, hiding there while glancing in surprise toward all directions and smiling in the joy of love. Longing under the influence of love, I wish to enjoy His company.

prathamasamāgamalajjitayā paṭuchāṭuśatairanukūlam ।
mṛdumadhurasmitabhāṣitayā śithilīkṛtajaghanadukūlam ॥ 2 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
पहले मिलन की लज्जा से संकोच करती हुई, मैं मधुर चतुर वचनों से उन्हें प्रसन्न करूँगी। कोमल मुस्कान और मधुर बातचीत के द्वारा मेरा वस्त्र भी ढीला पड़ जाएगा।

English Meaning:
Shy at our first meeting, I will delight Him with hundreds of tender and clever words. With soft smiles and sweet speech, even the garment around my hips will become loosened.

kisalayaśayananivēśitayā chiramurasi mamaiva śayānam ।
kṛtaparirambhaṇachumbanayā parirabhya kṛtādharapānam ॥ 3 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
कोमल पत्तों से बनी शय्या पर उन्हें लिटाकर मैं उन्हें लंबे समय तक अपने वक्ष से लगाए रखूँगी और आलिंगन तथा चुंबन द्वारा उनके अधरों का मधुर रस ग्रहण करूँगी।

English Meaning:
I shall place Him upon a bed of tender leaves and hold Him close against my breast for a long time, embracing and kissing Him and tasting the sweetness of His lips.

alasanimīlitalōchanayā pulakāvalilalitakapōlam ।
śramajalasakalakalēvarayā varamadanamadādatilōlam ॥ 4 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
प्रेम के आनंद से मेरी आँखें अर्ध-मुद्रित हो जाएँगी, रोमांच से मेरे गाल शोभायमान होंगे और प्रेम-क्रीड़ा से उत्पन्न पसीने से मेरा पूरा शरीर भीग जाएगा। तब मैं प्रेम के उल्लास में अत्यंत चंचल हो उठूँगी।

English Meaning:
With eyes half closed in the ecstasy of love, my cheeks will be adorned with waves of gooseflesh, and my entire body will become moist with the perspiration of passionate play. I will become deeply excited in the joy of love.

kōkilakalaravakūjitayā jitamanasijatantravichāram ।
ślathakusumākulakuntalayā nakhalikhitaghanastanabhāram ॥ 5 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
कोयल की मधुर कूक के बीच मैं कामदेव की कलाओं से भी अधिक प्रभावशाली प्रेमभाव में डूब जाऊँगी। मेरे केश पुष्पों से बिखरे होंगे और मेरे उन्नत वक्षस्थल प्रेम-क्रीड़ा के चिह्नों से सुशोभित होंगे।

English Meaning:
Amid the sweet calls of the cuckoo, I shall become absorbed in emotions surpassing even the arts of Cupid. My hair will be loosened and filled with flowers, while my full breasts will bear the marks of loving play.

charaṇaraṇitamaninūpurayā paripūritasuratavitānam ।
mukharaviśṛṅkhalamēkhalayā sakachagrahachumbanadānam ॥ 6 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
मेरे रत्नजड़ित नूपुरों की झंकार प्रेम-क्रीड़ा के वातावरण को भर देगी। मेरी मुखर करधनी की ध्वनि के बीच मैं उनके केश पकड़कर उन्हें प्रेमपूर्ण चुंबन दूँगी।

English Meaning:
The jingling of my jeweled anklets will fill the atmosphere of our amorous play. Amid the lively sound of my loosened girdle, I shall grasp His hair and give Him loving kisses.

ratisukhasamayarasālasayā daramukulitanayanasarōjam ।
niḥsahanipatitatanulatayā madhusūdanamuditamanōjam ॥ 7 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
प्रेम-सुख के क्षण में मेरी कमल जैसी आँखें धीरे-धीरे बंद हो जाएँगी और मेरा शरीर प्रेम के आवेग से शिथिल होकर श्रीमधुसूदन के समीप झुक जाएगा। इस प्रकार उनके मन में आनंद और प्रेम का संचार होगा।

English Meaning:
At the moment of the joy of love, my lotus-like eyes will gently close, and my body, overcome by emotion, will become relaxed and lean toward Madhusudana, filling His heart with delight and love.

May this exceedingly sweet account of the loving sports of Madhuripu Krishna, spoken by the longing Gopi and composed by Sri Jayadeva, spread joy and auspiciousness.

hastasrastavilāsavaṃśamanṛjubhrūvallimadballavī-vṛndōtsāridṛgantavīkṣitamatisvēdārdragaṇḍasthalam ।

English Meaning:
I behold Govinda in the forest, His playful flute fallen from His hand, His curved vine-like eyebrows casting glances that captivate the groups of Gopis. His cheeks are moist with perspiration, and His face is enchanting with the nectar of a gentle smile. When He looks toward me, I become filled with joy and shy delight.

durālōkastōkastabakanavakāśōkalatikā-vikāsaḥ kāsārōpavanapavanō’pi vyathayati ।
api bhrāmyadbhṛṅgīraṇitaramaṇīyā na mukula-prasūtiśchūtānāṃ sakhi śikhariṇīyaṃ sukhayati ॥ 17 ॥

हिंदी अर्थ:
हे सखी! यहाँ नई-नई अशोक-कलिकाओं और लताओं का खिलना भी देखने में कठिन होकर मेरे हृदय को व्यथित करता है। सरोवर और उपवन से आती हवा भी मुझे पीड़ा देती है। भौंरों की मधुर गुंजार भी सुख नहीं देती, और आम के वृक्षों की नवोदित मंजरी भी मेरे विरह को शांत नहीं कर पाती।

English Meaning:
O friend! The blossoming of fresh ashoka buds and creepers, though difficult to behold, only pains my heart. Even the breeze from the lake and garden causes me distress. The sweet humming of wandering bees brings no comfort, nor do the tender blossoms of the mango trees soothe my longing.
