Venu Gītā is a beautiful devotional song found in the Bhāgavata Purāṇa, in the Tenth Canto, Chapter 21. It describes the love and devotion of the Gopīs of Vṛndāvana for Lord Krishna. The word Venu means flute, so Venu Gītā means “The Song of the Flute.”
In this part of the Bhāgavata Purāṇa, Lord Krishna plays His enchanting flute while tending the cows in the forests of Vṛndāvana. The sweet sound of His flute touches the hearts of the Gopīs. They describe how the birds, rivers, trees, animals, and even the natural surroundings of Vṛndāvana seem to become filled with love when they hear Krishna’s flute.
Venu Gītā is not simply a description of beautiful music. It expresses deep devotion, love, surrender, and longing for Lord Krishna. Through the words of the Gopīs, the text shows how pure devotion can make every part of nature feel connected with the Divine.
The main message of Venu Gītā is that sincere love and devotion can bring the heart closer to God.
