Secret of Spiritual Success

Defining His Avataric mission, dividing His mission into 16 years apiece with defined tasks, Bhagawan, delivering His ‘first public Divine Discourse said: …”not that I Am determined to exclude leela and mahima from My activity after that…. I only mean that re-establishing Dharma, correcting the crookedness of the human mind and guiding humanity back to Sanathana Dharma will be My task thereafter. Read on…

Do not be led away by doubt and vain argument; do not question how and whether I can do all this. The cowherds of Brindavan also doubted whether the little boy who grew in their midst could lift Govardanagiri and hold it aloft! The thing needed is Faith, and yet more Faith.

Once Krishna and Arjuna were going together along the open road. Seeing a bird in the sky, Krishna asked Arjuna, “Is that a dove?” He replied, “Yes, it is a dove.” He asked Arjuna, “Is it an eagle?’ Arjuna replied promptly, “Yes, it is an eagle.” “No, Arjuna, it looks like a crow to Me. Is it not a crow?” asked Krishna. Arjuna replied, “I am sorry, it is a crow beyond doubt.” Krishna laughed and chided him for his agreeing to whatever suggestion was given. But Arjuna said, “For me, your Words are far more weighty than the evidence of my eyes; you can make it a crow, a dove or an eagle and when you say it is a crow, it must be one.” Implicit faith is the secret of spiritual success.

The Lord loves, not the bhaktha but his bhakthi, remember. The Lord’s Grace is like rain, pure water, falling equally everywhere; but its taste gets changed according to the soil through which it flows. So also the Lord’s words are sweet to some, bitter to others. The Lord’s ways are mysterious; He blessed Vidhura with the words, “Be destroyed” and Dhusshaasana with the words, “Live for a thousand years;” He meant that Vidhura’s ‘I’ will be destroyed and that the wicked Dhusshaasana will have to suffer the ills and tribulations of this world for ten centuries. You do not know the real reasons behind the actions of the Lord. You cannot understand the motives of other men who are almost like you in everything, actuated by the same motives and having the same likes and dislikes! But yet, how easily you discover the motives of One who is far, far above the level of Man! How glibly you talk and judge of something that is as strange to you as atmosphere to a fish!

Secret of Spiritual Success: Walking the Divine Path with Sathya Sai Baba

Spiritual success is not measured by worldly achievements, wealth, or recognition. It is reflected in the purity of the heart, the strength of faith, and the ability to experience the Divine in every aspect of life. Secret of Spiritual Success lies in living with truth, love, selfless service, and unwavering devotion. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba repeatedly reminded devotees that real spirituality begins with transforming one’s own character rather than attempting to change the world.

Every spiritual seeker desires peace, but lasting peace comes only when the mind is free from ego, selfishness, and attachment. Baba taught that prayer, meditation, and the constant remembrance of God gradually purify the mind. As these practices become a natural part of daily life, a devotee begins to experience inner joy that remains untouched by external circumstances. This is the true Secret of Spiritual Success, for it is rooted in the realization that God resides within every living being.

Sri Sathya Sai Baba also emphasized the importance of selfless service. Serving humanity without expecting appreciation or reward is one of the highest forms of worship. Every act of kindness offered with love becomes an offering at the Divine Lotus Feet. Whether helping the needy, comforting someone in distress, or performing one’s duties honestly, each action becomes spiritual when done with pure intentions. Such service gradually removes selfishness and strengthens one’s connection with God.

Faith and patience are equally essential on the spiritual journey. Challenges and difficulties should not weaken devotion but instead deepen trust in the Divine Will. Baba often explained that every experience carries a lesson meant for spiritual growth. Those who accept life’s circumstances with gratitude and surrender discover that obstacles become opportunities for inner transformation. This understanding reveals another Secret of Spiritual Success that every sincere devotee must embrace.

Another priceless teaching of Sri Sathya Sai Baba is the practice of seeing God in everyone. Love should not be limited to family or friends but extended to all beings without discrimination. When love becomes unconditional, hatred, jealousy, and anger naturally disappear. A heart filled with compassion becomes a temple where the Divine happily resides. This universal love is the foundation of every spiritual path.

The study of sacred scriptures, chanting the Divine Name, and maintaining good company further strengthen one’s spiritual progress. Baba encouraged devotees to balance spiritual practices with righteous living, reminding everyone that character is more important than knowledge. Noble thoughts, truthful speech, and disciplined actions create harmony between the mind, words, and deeds.

The Secret of Spiritual Success is ultimately simple yet profound—to love God, serve all, and live according to human values every day. By following the timeless teachings of Sri Sathya Sai Baba with sincerity and dedication, every devotee can move closer to self-realization and experience the bliss of Divine grace. Such inspiring messages continue to guide countless seekers through Devotional India, encouraging them to transform their lives through faith, love, and selfless service. The spiritual heritage preserved by Devotional India reminds us that the greatest victory is not over the world but over our own mind, leading us toward everlasting peace and union with the Divine.
