Krishna Paksha & Shukla Paksha Ekadashi
🌙 What is Ekadashi?
Ekadashi is one of the most sacred days in the Hindu lunar calendar, dedicated to the worship of Lord Vishnu. It falls on the eleventh day (Ekadashi tithi) of every lunar fortnight — meaning there are two Ekadashis in each month. On this day, devotees observe fasts, chant prayers, and engage in spiritual practices to purify the mind and body. It is believed that observing Ekadashi helps one attain peace, prosperity, and liberation from past sins.
🌘 Krishna Paksha Ekadashi
Krishna Paksha Ekadashi occurs during the waning phase of the Moon — the darker half of the lunar month, known as Krishna Paksha. It is observed after the full moon and is considered powerful for removing negativity, overcoming inner darkness, and seeking forgiveness for past mistakes. Fasting on Krishna Paksha Ekadashi symbolizes self-control and detachment from worldly desires. Lord Vishnu is worshipped with deep devotion, and prayers are often offered for protection and guidance.
🌕 Shukla Paksha Ekadashi
Shukla Paksha Ekadashi falls in the waxing phase of the Moon — the brighter half of the month, known as Shukla Paksha. It comes after Amavasya (new moon) and represents growth, positivity, and enlightenment. Observing Shukla Paksha Ekadashi helps devotees gain divine blessings, spiritual strength, and prosperity. It is a day to offer gratitude to Lord Vishnu for his grace and to renew one’s commitment to righteousness and purity of thought.
