Sri Sathya Sai Centre of Asunción is a spiritual and service-oriented centre in Asunción, Paraguay, dedicated to the teachings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The centre promotes universal love, devotion, selfless service, and human values through spiritual activities and community initiatives. It has also been associated with significant healthcare seva in Paraguay, including free cataract surgeries for people in need.
The Sri Sathya Sai International Organization officially reports the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Asunción and highlights its ongoing spiritual, educational, medical, and community-service activities. The Sathya Sai movement in Paraguay has a long history: the first Sai group was formed in Asunción in 1989, and the first formally established Sathya Sai Center in Paraguay dates to May 1990. Over the years, devotees have continued devotional meetings, study circles, bhajans, youth activities, and service programs inspired by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings of Love, Truth, Peace, Right Conduct, and Non-Violence.
One of the most important service initiatives associated with the Sathya Sai Center of Asunción is its healthcare mission. The organization launched a program to provide 1,000 free cataract surgeries for people in need. According to the Sri Sathya Sai International Organization’s 2024 annual report, 872 surgeries had been completed by the end of 2024 , including 151 during 2024. Volunteers in Asunción also distribute food regularly to hospital patients, their companions, and people living on the streets. In addition, service teams have supported underserved and Indigenous communities in the Chaco region of Paraguay.
