25th Mar 2011 – Last Darshan,Thus Far…
He Is The Lord Supreme, Who, Out Of Sheer ‘Love For Love’ resolved once to manifest in a human frame, transcending from The Infinite to the finite, at His sheer Will. Then He chose to walk among the earthly clan of humans, gliding past men and women of devotion, touching their hearts and souls many for a long eight and a half-decade, engaging the planet with His Pure Love! Looking back in time, can we spare a moment at least delving on the infinite boon that He has passed on to us, you and me and the world at large, bringing in HimSelf in His most adorable Beauty Beyond Compare human frame, as Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai?!? What greater bliss could there be to ask for, than having The Infinite Essence amidst us in His hallowed human frame?!? Let’s ever remain Grateful!…Grateful!!…Grateful!!!
25th March 2011, the Divine Chariot cruised along on a carpet of adoration that distinctly flowed from every heart that had gathered in Sai Kulwant Hall that evening, for a glimpse of The Lord Supreme. All necks craned to view this Most Adored Form. Awe, exultation and deep reverence did exude forth embracing the ever-loving and living Godhood in human frame.
Oh! Lord, The thoughts that flit through the mind upon viewing Your Beloved Form, makes me realize that You Are that vital shade that soothes and refreshes even as life represents scorching rays of the Sun…Yet, when no longer visible, can we fathom or acknowledge what have we lost or comprehend/assess what have we received or gained…?”
The time that was to follow, the unfolding of His Divine plan and what necessitated it, was and is known only to the Beloved One…the unreserved shock, utter anguish and deep pain felt as He chose to hitherto withdraw the Cherished Form, could be overcome only by the downpour and surge of love His very Name brings forth.
As Beloved Bhagawan gave that most loving, lingering, everlasting, decisive and significant erstwhile Darshan as yet, He made all know – You are never alone but God’s very own… In fact, He silently whispers to the collective ear of humanity, that He Is The EverLasting OneNess!
Come, join us in as Prasanthi Nilayam reminisces and recalls that ultimate public Darshan of The Beloved Supreme, thus far.
Prasanthi scripted a beautiful Darshan story this evening with Bhagawan emerging at 1915 hrs, coming for two full rounds of Darshan.
Completing the usual first round, Bhagawan soon moved into the ladies’ block again, continuing with a bonus round of Darshan. With Bhagawan stopping at the ‘primary school block’, the tiny tots had a wonderful time, feasting the ‘All-Loving…All-Encompassing Beauty’ gliding past. The little ones literally swarmed around Bhagawan’s car holding aloft greetings vying for His attention. One after one, each one of them sought blessings from Bhagawan before He moved into the ladies’ side, granting the bonus round of Darshan. A group from Alike, Muddenahalli institutions also received Bhagawan’s special attention during the round.
Coming on stage at 1930 hrs, Bhagawan sat for the next half-an-hour and bhajans turned intense. With Bhagawan joining, giving finger beats in between, the session turned out to be a delectable treat for the august assembly in the twilight.
Just two minutes short of 2000 hrs, Bhagawan asked for Mangala Arathi. Even as the Arathi was coming to an end, Bhagawan turned into a blessing mood, blessing the assembly profusely with double hand abhayahastha. Post the Arathi, before leaving the dais, once again His blessing right Palm went up, blessing the assembly again with Abhayahastha.
Soon Bhagawan left for Yajur Mandiram at 2005 hrs, retiring for the day.
25th Mar 2011 – Last Darshan – A Sacred Memory Of Love And Divine Grace
25th Mar 2011 – Last Darshan is a deeply emotional and sacred remembrance for devotees of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. It represents not only a date, but a moment filled with love, silence, faith, and the mysterious ways of the Divine. For many hearts, it became a memory that would remain alive forever as a blessing of nearness and grace.
Darshan is not merely seeing the physical form of the Lord. It is receiving divine love through the eyes, the heart, and the soul. A single glance from the master can give courage, peace, and inner strength. Even when no words are spoken, the devotee feels understood, accepted, and protected by a love beyond ordinary human affection.
25th Mar 2011 – Last Darshan teaches that every moment with the Divine is precious. Many people may not realize the value of a blessing while it is happening. Only later, when the moment becomes a memory, the heart understands its depth. This teaches devotees to live with awareness, gratitude, and reverence for every opportunity to remember God.
Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba always reminded devotees that He was not merely the body. He taught that He was always with them, within them, around them, above them, and below them. This assurance became even more meaningful when devotees had to move from dependence on the physical form to deeper faith in His eternal presence.
25th Mar 2011 – Last Darshan reminds us that divine love does not disappear when the eyes no longer see the form. The physical form may become unseen, but the teachings, grace, guidance, and inner presence continue to live in the heart. The devotee learns that true connection with Swami is not broken by time, distance, or physical absence.
Such a sacred memory also invites self-examination. If we have received the love of the Lord, how should we live? Should we continue with anger, ego, jealousy, and selfishness? Or should we become more loving, truthful, humble, and service-minded? The real offering to Swami is a life transformed by His message.
The silence of that period carried a powerful teaching. Devotees were invited to hold on to faith even when the outer situation was uncertain. Faith is easy when everything is clear, but it becomes strong when the heart continues to trust through silence, waiting, and pain. In this way, devotion matures into surrender.
25th Mar 2011 – Last Darshan becomes meaningful when remembrance turns into practice. Swami’s message was simple and universal: love all, serve all; help ever, hurt never. Remembering Him truly means living these words in daily life. Gentle speech, selfless service, forgiveness, and compassion become living forms of devotion.
A devotee may feel sorrow when thinking of the last physical glimpse, but spiritual wisdom slowly turns sorrow into gratitude. Instead of asking only why the physical form became distant, the heart begins to ask how to keep His presence alive. The answer is found in prayer, bhajan, namasmarana, seva, and purity of conduct.
25th Mar 2011 – Last Darshan also reminds us that the Avatar’s mission is not limited to one visible period. The work of divine love continues through devotees who practice His teachings. When a hungry person is fed, a sick person is cared for, a child is guided, or a sorrowful heart is comforted, Swami’s love continues to move in the world.
The greatest tribute to Bhagavan is not only tears of memory, but a life of values. Truth, right conduct, peace, love, and nonviolence should become the foundation of every devotee’s life. If we carry these values into our homes, workplaces, and society, then the blessing of His darshan continues through our actions.
The heart that remembers Swami sincerely never feels completely alone. His form may not walk before the eyes, but His voice speaks through conscience. His smile lives in the memory. His message guides the mind. His grace gives strength during difficulty. The devotee slowly understands that divine presence is living, subtle, and eternal.
In the end, 25th Mar 2011 – Last Darshan is not only a remembrance of separation, but a call to deeper union with Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. It asks devotees to move from outer seeing to inner living, from emotion to transformation, and from memory to service. When His teachings shine in our thoughts, words, and actions, every day becomes blessed by His eternal grace.
Why Fear When I Am Here
