He Belongs To All
How often do we judge Him, judging the actions of the attribute-less Supra-Supreme Divine Persona walking on two Feet, out of sheer, crass ignorance?!? For a devout soul ripe enough for learning, He sends the right message across, often in His own inimitable style, only to help the devotee evolve slow and steady, grade by grade, to a higher level of consciousness. Read on such a revealing experience from the diary of Sri Arun Kumar Panda of Odisha, as chronicled in his book Rasamayee Maa. (edited version)I don’t precisely recall the month, but the year was 1971. I had travelled from Delhi for Swami’s Darshan and would be returning there. I was sitting in the portico of the Mandir at about 2 pm alone on the day of my return journey.
I don’t precisely recall the month, but the year was 1971. I had travelled from Delhi for Swami’s Darshan and would be returning there. I was sitting in the portico of the Mandir at about 2 pm alone on the day of my return journey.
My train was at 9 pm. The Sai Kulwant hall had not come into being, and there was sand all around. There was only one entrance to the Mandir from the East Prasanthi side. There was no restriction then relating to sitting outside the bhajan hall.
A big red car then entered through the gate. I thought to myself – ‘Bhagawan, You Are for the rich only; no one bothers about us.’ Two or three people lifted a young girl from the car and seated her on the ground. She was a beautiful girl affected by polio.
I immediately prayed, ‘Lord, I need no car or polio.’ the gentlemen carried her near to where I was sitting ans Swami blessed her from the porch above and dropped an envelope filled with Vibhuti on their hands.
A flash thought came to me, again. ‘Swami, You will give Vibhuti to such people only.’ Those people went away after receiving Vibhuti, but I continued sitting there.
Most unexpected, one Sevadal brother came and extended a packet of Vibhuti similar to that given to the girl saying that Swami had sent it for me.
I prostrated Swami right there and begged forgiveness for my crass ignorance. The biggest lesson that I learnt from this incident is that He belongs to all. No one should have any doubt about that.
He Belongs To All – A Divine Message Of Universal Love And Oneness
He Belongs To All is a beautiful spiritual truth that reminds us that the Divine can never be limited by one person, one group, one religion, one nation, or one tradition. God’s love is universal. Like the sun that shines for everyone and the rain that falls without discrimination, divine grace reaches every sincere heart that calls with love, faith, and humility.
Human beings often create boundaries where God has created unity. We say “my God,” “your God,” “my path,” and “your path,” but the Divine is beyond such narrow thinking. Names and forms may differ, but the essence of truth, love, compassion, and peace remains one. A mature devotee respects all sincere ways of reaching God.
He Belongs To All teaches that divine love is not private property. No devotee can claim exclusive ownership over the Lord. The Lord may respond personally to each heart, yet His compassion remains infinite and open to all. This is the mystery of divine love: it feels deeply personal, but it is never limited.
Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba welcomed people from every religion, country, language, and background. His message was simple and universal: love all, serve all; help ever, hurt never. These words did not belong to one community alone. They were given for the upliftment of all humanity and for the awakening of divine love in every heart.
When we understand this truth, pride begins to reduce. A devotee should never feel superior because of religion, caste, knowledge, wealth, or spiritual practice. True devotion makes the heart humble. If God belongs to all, then every person deserves respect. Every being becomes sacred. Every act of kindness becomes worship.
He Belongs To All becomes meaningful when it changes how we treat others. If we worship God in a temple but ignore the pain of people outside, our devotion remains incomplete. If we sing bhajans but speak harshly, we have not understood divine love. The Lord is served best when we help, comfort, forgive, and uplift others.
The Divine accepts the prayer of a child, the tears of a mother, the silence of a seeker, the service of a worker, and the repentance of one who has made mistakes. God does not look only at outer status. He looks at sincerity. A pure heart can come from any place, any family, and any background.
This truth also brings unity among religions. One may worship Rama, Krishna, Shiva, Devi, Jesus, Allah, Buddha, Sai, or another sacred form, but sincere devotion leads toward the same supreme reality. Differences in worship should not create hatred. They should inspire understanding, respect, and deeper love for the one Divine present in all.
He Belongs To All also reminds us that spiritual teachings must become practical. Universal love is not only a beautiful idea; it must be lived in daily life. We can begin by reducing judgment, avoiding gossip, speaking gently, helping without expectation, and praying for the welfare of all beings.
A heart that understands universal love becomes broad like the sky. It does not reject people because they are different. It does not reduce God to a narrow circle. It sees divinity in the poor and the rich, the educated and the simple, the near and the far, the known and the unknown. Such vision is true spirituality.
He Belongs To All finally teaches that the Lord’s presence can be felt wherever love is practiced. A home filled with kindness becomes a temple. A hand that serves becomes an instrument of God. A word that heals becomes a prayer. A heart that forgives becomes a sacred altar of divine grace.
The world today needs this message deeply. Division, pride, anger, and selfishness create suffering everywhere. The awareness that God belongs to all can soften hearts and bring people closer. When we see others as children of the same Divine, hatred becomes weaker and compassion becomes stronger.
In the end, He Belongs To All is a call to expand devotion into universal love. The Lord may bless each devotee personally, but His love is for everyone. When we live with humility, service, respect, and compassion, we honor the Divine in all forms. Such a life becomes peaceful, purposeful, and blessed with the grace of God.
