A Faith-Lifting Encounter With Swami
Closer than the closest He is that man’s prime duty on Earth is to realise the True Truth of Oneness with the Supreme Godhood. Many are the layers of myriad karmic rolls for him that, man while being churned in the treadmill of karma must endeavour to raise his benchmark of faith, finally to achieve his prime goal of Oneness. …An interesting experience of ‘Faith-Lift’ by Ms Nira Sailakshmi Kanagasabai, Malaysia.
I was in Prasanthi Nilayam for the Zone 4 Young Adults Conference. The months preceding this were difficult as I felt disconnected from Swami. I questioned why He would never appear in my dreams or converse with me and I incessantly challenged Him to prove that He was listening. One evening, following an informal satsang in our room, we discussed what object we could not live without. “My phone, I cannot survive without my phone”, I naively remarked.
The next night, I went to the bazaar by rickshaw to purchase some decorations. Twenty minutes into our shopping, my heart sank as I realised I no longer had my phone. Panicking, I began looking for the sister who accompanied me, hoping she had it, and frantically searched the shop. It was gone! It then dawned on us that I must have dropped it in the rickshaw. We waited outside the shop, internally chanting the Gayatri Mantra , but it was unrealistic to expect that the driver would return and that we would recognise each other.
Giving up, we began walking back to the Ashram . I grew anxious about how I would survive the rest of the trip without a phone. Ten minutes later, a rickshaw stopped abruptly beside me. The driver exclaimed “I have been looking for you all this time, where have you been?” as he returned the phone to me. Gleaming with happiness and disbelief, I thanked him profusely and expressed gratitude to Swami!
The lesson was clear – all I will ever need is my Lord Himself. If I could not understand His silence, how would I ever understand His words? I was reminded that the ultimate stage of prayer is when neither the Lord nor the devotee speaks, yet both listen. He has been and continues to witness my conversations and thoughts and waits patiently to receive me.
Did I mention that the conference was themed “Faith Lift”? How lovingly and subtly our Lord strengthens our faith and shows us that no struggle is too trivial to Him.
Yeh Draft Ready Hai:
A Faith-Lifting Encounter With Swami – A Sacred Moment Of Grace And Inner Transformation
A Faith-Lifting Encounter With Swami is a beautiful spiritual theme that reminds devotees how one moment of divine nearness can change the direction of life. Sometimes a single glance, a gentle word, a loving smile, or a silent blessing from the master can lift the heart from doubt to trust and from fear to faith.
In ordinary life, people often become tired by worries, disappointments, illness, family problems, and inner confusion. The mind may know many teachings, yet still feel weak when life becomes difficult. At such moments, divine presence gives a strength that ordinary advice cannot provide. It touches the heart directly and restores courage.
A Faith-Lifting Encounter With Swami teaches that faith is not always built through books and speeches alone. It is often awakened through personal experience. A devotee may arrive with questions, but leave with peace. He may come with fear, but return with confidence. He may stand before Swami with a heavy heart, yet feel that every silent prayer has been understood.
Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s presence had a unique power to make devotees feel seen, loved, and protected. Many felt that He knew their inner struggles without explanation. This gave them the assurance that God is not distant or unaware. The Divine knows every tear, every doubt, every hope, and every sincere longing hidden within the heart.
A Faith-Lifting Encounter With Swami becomes meaningful when it creates inner change. The purpose of divine contact is not only emotional joy. It should make the devotee more truthful, more loving, more disciplined, and more willing to serve. When faith rises, character must also rise. When grace is received, life should become more sacred.
Sometimes Swami lifted faith through a word of encouragement. Sometimes He corrected a devotee with love. Sometimes He gave a sign that only the devotee could understand. Sometimes He remained silent, yet the silence itself gave peace. Divine communication does not always need long explanation. The heart understands what grace is saying.
Such an encounter can stay alive in memory for many years. During later struggles, the devotee remembers that blessed moment and gains strength again. The memory becomes like a lamp in darkness. It reminds the mind, “I was not alone then, and I am not alone now.” This remembrance becomes a living support in spiritual life.
A Faith-Lifting Encounter With Swami also reminds us that physical nearness is not the only form of divine contact. Even today, devotees may feel Swami’s presence through prayer, bhajan, dreams, inner guidance, sacred teachings, or unexpected help. The form may not always be visible, but divine love continues to guide the sincere heart.
The true test of faith comes after the encounter. It is easy to feel devotion in a holy atmosphere, but real spirituality must continue in daily life. The devotee must carry that grace into home, work, relationships, and service. Gentle speech, patience, forgiveness, honesty, and compassion become signs that the encounter has entered the heart.
A Faith-Lifting Encounter With Swami finally teaches that the greatest miracle is not outside, but within. A doubtful heart becoming confident, a restless mind becoming peaceful, a selfish nature becoming service-minded, and a fearful person becoming surrendered are all signs of divine transformation. Faith lifted by grace becomes a force for goodness.
Prayer helps preserve this faith. When the devotee prays daily, repeats the divine name, sings bhajans, and serves others, the inner connection remains fresh. Faith must be nourished like a sacred flame. If neglected, it may become weak, but if protected with devotion and practice, it becomes steady and bright.
Swami’s message was always practical: love all, serve all; help ever, hurt never. Therefore, any encounter with Him should inspire loving action. A devotee who has felt His grace should become a source of kindness for others. The love received from God should flow outward as service, forgiveness, and compassion.
In the end, A Faith-Lifting Encounter With Swami is a reminder that divine grace can lift the human heart beyond fear and uncertainty. One sacred moment with the Lord can become a lifetime of strength. When that faith is lived through purity, humility, devotion, and service, life becomes blessed with peace and guided by Swami’s eternal love.
