Morning prayer
Oh Lord, I am born from the womb of sleep.
I am determined to carry out all tasks this day
as offering to Thee ever present before my mind’s eye.
Make my words, thoughts and deeds sacred and pure;
let me not inflict pain on anyone;
let no one inflict pain on me;
direct me, guide me this day.
Morning Prayer – A Sacred Beginning of Faith, Gratitude, and Divine Guidance
Morning prayer is a beautiful way to begin the day with peace, faith, and divine remembrance. When the eyes open after sleep, a new day stands before us like a fresh blessing. The mind may quickly run toward work, worries, duties, and plans, but prayer helps the heart pause and remember that life is guided by a higher power. A day that begins with God’s name becomes lighter, calmer, and more meaningful.
Every morning is a new opportunity. Yesterday may have brought mistakes, pain, confusion, or tiredness, but today gives a chance to begin again. Morning prayer teaches us that no day should start only with fear or hurry. It should begin with gratitude. Breath, health, family, shelter, food, and the chance to live one more day are not ordinary things. They are gifts of grace.
A sincere prayer in the morning does not need difficult words. It can be simple and honest. A devotee may say, “Lord, guide my thoughts, purify my words, bless my actions, and help me live this day with love.” When said with faith, even a short prayer can bring strength to the heart. Morning prayer becomes powerful because it sets the direction of the mind before the world fills it with noise.
The first thoughts of the day are important. If the mind begins with anxiety, anger, or complaint, the whole day may feel heavy. But if the mind begins with peace, gratitude, and trust, the day becomes easier to face. Morning prayer helps the devotee choose faith before fear and surrender before stress. It reminds the heart that no challenge is greater than divine grace.
Prayer also gives clarity. During the day, we meet many situations: decisions, responsibilities, people, delays, and unexpected problems. Without inner balance, the mind reacts quickly. But a prayerful beginning gives patience. It helps us speak gently, act honestly, and think before reacting. In this way, prayer becomes not only worship, but practical wisdom.
Morning prayer is also a request for protection. A devotee asks the Divine to protect the body, mind, family, and path. But protection does not always mean that no problem will come. Sometimes protection comes as courage, wisdom, patience, or guidance at the right time. The heart that prays in the morning feels that it is not walking alone.
A new day should also begin with good intention. We can pray to avoid hurting anyone, to speak truthfully, to help where possible, and to keep the heart clean. If every person began the day with such thoughts, the world would become more peaceful. Morning prayer reminds us that spirituality is not separate from daily life. It must appear in our behavior.
The morning is also a time to offer surrender. Human beings make plans, but life does not always follow personal wishes. Prayer teaches us to do our duty sincerely and leave the result to God. This surrender removes unnecessary fear and gives inner freedom. We work, but we do not carry the burden alone.
In the end, Morning prayer is a sacred bridge between sleep and action, silence and duty, gratitude and service. It invites the heart to begin the day with divine love and clear intention. A person who prays sincerely in the morning slowly becomes calmer, kinder, and stronger.
The blessing of Morning prayer is that it turns an ordinary day into a sacred opportunity. It fills the mind with faith, the heart with gratitude, and the actions with purpose. When the day begins with God, every step can become prayer, every duty can become worship, and every moment can move closer to peace.
