Ganapati Prarthana Ghanapatham

ōṃ śrī gurubhyō namaḥ । hariḥ ōm ॥

Om. Salutations to the revered Gurus. Hari Om. May the blessings and guidance of the Guru be with us.

ō-ṅga̠ṇānā̎-ntvā ga̠ṇapa̍tigṃ havāmahē ka̠vi-ṅka̍vī̠nāṃ upa̠maśra̍vastavam । jyē̠ṣṭha̠rāja̠-mbrahma̍ṇā-mbrahmaṇaspata̠ ā na̍-śśṛ̠ṇvannū̠tibhi̍ssīda̠ sāda̍nam ॥

We invoke You, O Ganapati, Lord of all groups and hosts. You are the wise one among the wise and the most renowned among those possessing wisdom. You are the supreme and eldest Lord of sacred prayers and divine knowledge. O Brahmanaspati, hear our prayer and come to us with Your divine protection and blessings. Please take Your seat in this sacred place.

ga̠ṇānā̎-ntvā tvā ga̠ṇānā̎-ṅga̠ṇānā̎-ntvā ga̠ṇapa̍ti-ṅga̠ṇapa̍ti-ntvā ga̠ṇānā̎-ṅga̠ṇānā̎-ntvā ga̠ṇapa̍tim ॥

We invoke You, O Lord of all hosts. You are Ganapati, the divine Lord and leader of all groups. May we approach and invoke You with reverence and devotion.

tvā̠ ga̠ṇapa̍ti-ṅga̠ṇapa̍ti-ntvātvā ga̠ṇapa̍tigṃ havāmahē havāmahē ga̠ṇapa̍ti-ntvātvā gaṇapa̍tigṃ havāmahē । ga̠ṇapa̍tigṃ havāmahē havāmahē ga̠ṇapa̍ti-ṅga̠ṇapa̍tigṃ havāmahē ka̠vinka̠vigṃ ha̍vāmahē ga̠ṇapa̍ti-ṅga̠ṇapa̍tigṃ havāmahē ka̠vim । ga̠ṇapa̍ti̠miti̍ga̠ṇa-pa̠ti̠m ॥

We invoke You, O Ganapati, again and again. You are the Lord of all hosts and the embodiment of divine wisdom. We call upon You as the wise one, the seer, and the supreme guide of sacred knowledge.

ha̠vā̠ma̠hē̠ ka̠vi-ṅka̠vig̠ṃ ha̍vāmahē havāmahē ka̠vi-ṅka̍vī̠nānka̍vī̠nā-ṅka̠vig̠ṃ ha̍vāmahē havāmahē ka̠vinka̍vī̠nām ॥

We invoke the Divine Seer, the wise one among the wise. We call upon the One whose wisdom is supreme among all those who possess sacred knowledge.

ka̠vinka̍vī̠nānka̍vī̠nā-ṅka̠vinka̠vi-ṅka̍vī̠nāmu̍pa̠maśra̍vastama mupa̠maśra̍vastamaṅka̍vī̠nā-ṅka̠vinka̠vi-ṅka̍vī̠nāmu̍pa̠maśra̍vastamam ॥

You are the wisest among the wise and the most renowned among those possessing sacred wisdom. Your glory, knowledge and divine understanding are supreme.

ka̠vī̠nāmu̍pa̠maśra̍va stamamupa̠maśra̍vastama-ṅkavī̠nā nka̍vī̠nā mu̍pa̠maśra̍vastamam । u̠pa̠maśra̍vastama̠ mityu̍pa̠maśra̍vaḥ-ta̠ma̠m ॥

Among all the wise, You are the most exalted and renowned. We praise and invoke that supreme Divine Wisdom whose glory is celebrated among the wise.

jyē̠ṣṭa̠rājaṃ̠ brahma̍ṇā̠-mbrahma̍ṇā-ñjyēṣṭha̠rājaṃ̍ jyēṣṭha̠rājaṃ̠ brahma̍ṇā-mbrahmaṇō brahmaṇō̠ brahma̍ṇā-ñjyēṣṭha̠rājaṃ̍ jyēṣṭha̠rājaṃ̠ brahma̍ṇā-mbrahmaṇaḥ । jyē̠ṣṭha̠rāja̠miti̍jyēṣṭha rājam̎ ॥

You are the eldest and supreme Lord among sacred prayers and divine wisdom. You are the foremost ruler and protector of Brahman, sacred knowledge and spiritual understanding.

brahma̍ṇā-mbrahmaṇō brahmaṇō̠ brahma̍ṇāṃ̠ brahma̍ṇā-mbrahmaṇaspatē patēbrahmaṇō̠ brahma̍ṇāṃ̠ brahma̍ṇā-mbrahmaṇaspatē ॥

O Brahmanaspati, Lord of sacred prayer and divine wisdom, You are the supreme master of the sacred word and spiritual knowledge. We invoke You as the Lord who presides over sacred wisdom.

bra̠hma̠ṇa̠spa̠tē̠ pa̠tē̠ bra̠hma̠ṇō̠ bra̠hma̠ṇa̠spa̠ta̠ āpa̍tē brahmaṇō brahmaṇaspata̠ ā । pa̠ta̠ ā pa̍tēpata̠ ānō̍na̠ āpa̍tē pata̠ āna̍ḥ ॥

O Brahmanaspati, Lord of sacred wisdom, come to us. Come near us and bless us with Your divine presence. May You approach us and grant Your protection and grace.

ānō̍na̠ āna̍śśṛ̠ṇvanChṛ̠ṇvanna̠ āna̍śśṛṇvann । na̠ śśṛṇvanChṛ̠ṇvannō̍na śśṛ̠ṇvannū̠tibhi̍ rū̠tibhi̍śśṛ̠ṇvannō̍na śśṛ̠ṇvannū̠tibhi̍ḥ ॥

Hear us, O Divine Lord. Listen to our prayer and our invocation. May You hear us with Your divine protection and come to our aid with Your blessings.

śśṛ̠ṇvannū̠tibhi̍ rū̠tibhi̍śśṛ̠ṇvanChṛ̠ṇvannū̠tibhi̍ssīda sīdō̠tibhi̍śśṛ̠ṇvan Chṛ̠ṇvannū̠tibhi̍ssīda ॥

Hear our prayer with Your divine protection and assistance. Listen to us and come to us with Your blessings. May Your gracious presence protect and support us.

ū̠tibhi̍ssīda sīdō̠tibhi̍ rū̠tibhi̍ssīda̠ sāda̍na̠g̠ṃ sāda̍nag̠ṃ sīdō̠tibhi̍rū̠tibhi̍ssīda̠ sāda̍nam । ū̠tibhi̠ rityū̠ti-bhi̠ḥ ॥

Come and take Your seat in this sacred place with Your divine protection. May Your presence become established here and may Your blessings safeguard all those who pray.

sī̠da̠sāda̍na̠g̠ṃ sāda̍nag̠ṃ sīda sīda̠ sāda̍nam । sāda̍na̠miti̠ sāda̍nam ॥

Take Your seat in this sacred place. May Your divine presence be established here. May this sacred seat become a place of Your grace, protection and blessings.
