Architecture of the Temple

The temple follows Dravidian architecture, with a tall five-tiered Rajagopuram (entrance tower) and beautiful sculptural details.
The main shrine houses Surya Bhagavan with his consorts Usha and Pratyusha.
There are individual shrines for each of the other Navagrahas, all positioned to face Surya’s sanctum.
The temple complex includes mandapams (pillared halls) and a sacred tank (Surya Pushkarini) used for ritual bathing., Gopis, or other deities, depending on tradition.
How to Reach to Temple
By Road: The temple is 15 km from Kumbakonam and 20 km from Mayiladuthurai. It is well-connected by local buses and taxis.
By Train: The nearest railway station is Aduthurai, located just 2 km from the temple.
By Air: The closest airport is Tiruchirapalli (Trichy) International Airport, about 100 km away.
