Mythological Significance & History

There are no written records of the temple’s origins; instead, its rich past is preserved through Oggu Katha, a traditional oral storytelling form. The clay‑modeled idol of Mallanna is believed to be around 500 years old. Over time, the temple was enhanced with mandapams and choultries by the state Endowments Department.
