Located in Khardaha, in the North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, the Radha Madanmohan Thakur Jiu Temple is a revered Vaishnava shrine dedicated to Lord Krishna in his Madanmohan form, accompanied by Radha.

“जहाँ रूपगोस्वामी और महाप्रभु का मिलन हुआ—वहीं मदनमोहन जिउ मंदिर में भक्ति की लहर आज भी प्रवाहित होती है।”

― Madanmohan-Jiu Temple

Khardaha is considered a sacred Vaishnava town, frequented by devotional followers of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Nityananda Prabhu.

Mythological Significance & History

While precise dates are not documented, the temple’s cultural importance centers on its embodiment of Gaudiya Vaishnavism, with the area being sanctified by the presence of eminent saints. In 2018, the West Bengal Heritage Commission formally recognized it as a heritage structure.

Significance of the Temple

The temple hosts key festivals such as Baisakhi Purnima, Ful Dol, Jhulan (Shravan), Janmashtami, Radhastami (Bhadra), Rasyatra, and Annakut, making it a vibrant hub of devotional celebration.
