The Creator
by His Student
Year after year, students have the good fortune to photograph Bhagawan. We are mesmerized with the illusion that we have a lot to do with taking a good picture. Bhagawan has a way of teaching the simple yet profound messages.
In April’94, in Kodai Kanal. Nearly all the students on this trip had a camera with them. Four of us had been taking pictures of Bhagawan for over 4 years, and were known to have a camera handy, in His presence.
One crisp and beautiful morning, Bhagawan instructed the students to get ready for taking pictures and prepare to leave after morning darshan. We boarded the bus and made our way to a devotee’s house in Kodai Kanal. The garden was in spring bloom overlooking the clouds hugging the mountain ridges.
After taking several pictures in various locations around the garden, we were preparing to return to Sai Sruthi. Before getting on the bus, we asked for one more pose. It so happened that, I needed to change the film in my camera. To keep out of the way for other photographers, I moved behind a small post with a creeper clinging to it.
Before I knew it, Swami was walking towards me. HE came up to the creeper and plucked a few leaves. Swami turned His palm upwards and showed me a pair of fruit. He asked, “What is this?” I replied, “Swami, they are plums.” Swami gave his sweet smile and said, “Do plums grow on creepers?” Swami instructed the students to board the bus and Swami graciously joined us. As we started to move, HE put the “Plum” into the mouth of one of the boys and asked, “How does it taste?” he replied, “Like chocolate and no seed!”
There isn’t day that passes when Swami reinforces the principle of GOD – Generation, Organisation and Destruction.
(The accompanying photograph captures the exact moment described here. You can even see the boy, with the camera, behind the creeper !)
The Creator – A Sacred Reflection on Divine Power, Love, and Purpose
The Creator is the source of all life, all beauty, and all order in this vast universe. When we look at the sky, the stars, the mountains, the rivers, the trees, and the countless living beings around us, we begin to feel that creation is not without meaning. Everything carries a hidden rhythm, a silent intelligence, and a deep harmony. The world is not merely a collection of objects; it is a living expression of divine will.
The Creator can be felt in the rising sun, the flowing river, the blooming flower, and the breath that moves within us. Human beings often become busy with daily worries, ambitions, and desires, but nature continues to remind us of a higher power. The earth gives food without pride. The sun gives light without asking for praise. The air supports life without discrimination. These simple gifts show the compassion hidden in creation.
Every person is born with a purpose. Life is not given only for eating, earning, sleeping, and chasing temporary pleasures. Human birth is a precious opportunity to grow in love, wisdom, truth, and service. When we forget this purpose, life becomes restless. When we remember it, even ordinary actions become meaningful. Work becomes worship, duty becomes devotion, and service becomes a way to honour God.
The Creator has given human beings a special gift: the power to choose. We can choose kindness or cruelty, truth or falsehood, humility or pride, service or selfishness. This freedom makes life sacred, but it also brings responsibility. A person cannot blame destiny for every action. Each thought, word, and deed shapes the future. When choices are guided by conscience, life becomes peaceful and noble.
Many people search for God in temples, churches, mosques, scriptures, and holy places. These are beautiful supports for faith, but divine presence is not limited to them. God can also be found in a hungry person waiting for food, a sick person needing care, a child needing love, and an old person needing respect. The Creator lives in every heart, and serving living beings is one of the purest forms of worship.
The beauty of creation teaches humility. Human beings may become proud of wealth, education, power, or success, but one look at the vast universe can reduce that pride. What is personal ego before the endless sky? What is human anger before the silence of mountains? Nature quietly teaches that greatness does not need noise. True strength is calm, giving, patient, and full of purpose.
The Creator also teaches unity through creation. The same sun shines on all. The same rain falls on different lands. The same earth supports people of every religion, language, caste, and country. Division is created by the human mind, but creation itself speaks the language of oneness. When we understand this, hatred becomes foolish and compassion becomes natural.
Life’s difficulties also have meaning when seen with faith. Pain, delay, failure, and loss are not easy to bear, but they can become teachers. They can remove pride, deepen prayer, increase patience, and make the heart softer toward others. The Creator does not always remove every difficulty immediately, but divine grace gives strength to face life with courage and trust.
A grateful heart sees blessings everywhere. Food on the plate, clean water, family love, health, guidance, and the chance to begin again are all gifts. Many people notice what they lack, but forget what they already have. Gratitude changes the way we live. It makes the mind peaceful and the heart humble. A person who is grateful naturally becomes more generous.
The Creator has not made this world only for human enjoyment . Nature must be respected, protected, and cared for. Trees, rivers, animals, soil, and air are sacred parts of life. When humans waste resources, pollute the earth, and harm living beings, they disturb the balance of creation. True spirituality includes responsibility toward nature. Caring for the world is also a form of devotion.
Prayer helps us remain connected with divine wisdom. It does not always need long words. A sincere thought, a silent tear, a humble request, or a moment of gratitude can become prayer. God understands the language of the heart. When prayer is joined with right action, life becomes stronger. Faith should not make us lazy; it should make us more disciplined, loving, and truthful.
The Creator is not far away from us. The Divine is present in our breath, conscience, love, and ability to do good. Whenever we forgive someone, help someone, speak truth, or choose peace over anger, divine light shines through us. The greatest worship is not only to praise God with words, but to reflect divine qualities in daily life.
In the end, The Creator is the eternal source of life, love, wisdom, and grace. This sacred truth reminds us to live with humility, gratitude, compassion, and responsibility. The universe itself is a divine message, asking us to rise above selfishness and recognize the sacred presence in all. When we live with love, serve with sincerity, and remember God with faith, our life becomes a beautiful offering to the One who created everything.
