गुरु ही ब्रह्मा हैं, गुरु ही विष्णु हैं, गुरु ही महेश्वर हैं। गुरु ही साक्षात् परम ब्रह्म हैं। ऐसे गुरु को मेरा नमन।
The Guru is Brahma, the Guru is Vishnu, the Guru is Maheshwara (Shiva). The Guru is verily the Supreme Brahman. I bow to that revered Guru.
अखण्डमण्डलाकारं व्याप्तं येन चराचरम् । तत्पदं दर्शितं येन तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥२॥

I bow to the Guru who has revealed the Supreme Reality, which pervades the entire universe, moving and unmoving, as an indivisible whole.
अज्ञानतिमिरान्धस्य ज्ञानाञ्जनशालाकया । चक्षुरुन्मीलितं येन तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥३॥

I bow to the Guru who, with the ointment of knowledge, opens the eyes of one blinded by the darkness of ignorance, revealing to them the truth.
स्थावरं जङ्गमं व्याप्तं येन कृत्स्नं चराचरम् । तत्पदं दर्शितं येन तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥४॥

जिस गुरु ने अपने चैतन्य स्वरूप में सम्पूर्ण त्रिलोक (तीन लोकों) को, स्थिर और चलित सभी प्राणियों और वस्तुओं सहित, व्याप्त किया और उसका दर्शन कराया, ऐसे गुरु को मेरा नमन।
I bow to the Guru who, in His conscious form, pervades the three worlds—both the moving and the immovable—and has revealed that supreme state.
सर्वश्रुतिशिरोरत्नसमुद्भासितमूर्तये । वेदान्ताम्बूजसूर्याय तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥६॥

I bow to the Guru whose form shines with the jewels of all Vedic knowledge, and who is like the sun illuminating the ocean of Vedanta.
चैतन्यः शाश्वतः शान्तो व्योमातीतोनिरञ्जनः । बिन्दूनादकलातीतस्तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥७॥

अनेकजन्मसम्प्राप्तकर्मेन्धनविदाहिने । आत्मञ्जानाग्निदानेन तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥९॥

I bow to the Guru who, with the fire of self-realization, destroys the bondage of accumulated karma from countless past lives.
शोषणं भवसिन्धोश्च प्रापणं सारसम्पदः । यस्य पादोदकं सम्यक् तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥१०॥

I bow to the Guru whose holy feet’s water quenches the dryness of the ocean of worldly existence and bestows the essence of all prosperity.
न गुरोरधिकं तत्त्वं न गुरोरधिकं तपः । तत्त्वज्ञानात् परं नास्ति तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥११॥

गुरु से बड़ा तत्त्व (सत्य) नहीं है, गुरु से बड़ा तप (साधना) नहीं है। तत्त्वज्ञान से परे कोई और सर्वोच्च नहीं है। ऐसे गुरु को मेरा नमन।
There is no higher reality than the Guru, no greater austerity than the Guru, and beyond the Guru’s knowledge of truth, nothing is supreme. I bow to such a Guru.
मन्नाथः श्रीजगन्नाथो मद्गुरुः श्रीजगद्गुरुः । मदात्मा सर्वभूतात्मा तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥१२॥

My Guru is my Lord, the Lord of the Universe (Sri Jagannath). My Guru is the teacher of the entire world. My own soul and all beings are under His guidance. I bow to such a Guru.
गुरुरादिरनादिश्च गुरुः परमदैवतम् । गुरोः परतरं नास्ति तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥१३॥

ब्रह्मानन्दं परमसुखदं केवलं ज्ञानमूर्तिम् द्वन्द्वातीतं गगनसदृशं तत्त्वमस्यादिलक्ष्यम् । एकं नित्यं विमलमचलं सर्वधीसाक्षीभूतम् भावातीतं त्रिगुणरहितं सद्गुरुंतं नमामि ॥१४॥

मैं उस सत्गुरु को नमन करता हूँ, जो ब्रह्मानंद और परम सुख का स्वरूप हैं, केवल ज्ञान के मूर्ति हैं। जो द्वंद्व से परे हैं, आकाश के समान व्याप्त हैं और सभी तत्त्वों का मूल लक्षित हैं। जो एक, नित्य, निर्मल, अचल और सभी बुद्धियों का साक्षी हैं। जो भावों से परे हैं और त्रिगुणों (सत्व, रज, तम) से रहित हैं।
I bow to the Satguru, who is the embodiment of bliss and supreme happiness, the very form of knowledge, beyond dualities, pervading like the sky, and the source of all truths. He is one, eternal, pure, immovable, the witness of all intellects, transcending all emotions and beyond the three qualities (gunas).
