Meaning (English)
Mother Yashoda joyfully performs the sacred Aarti of little Lord Krishna. Her entire being blossoms with happiness as she lovingly showers Him with affection, overwhelmed with divine bliss and motherly love.
She carries a beautiful golden tray adorned with precious jewel lamps glowing with fragrant ghee. Applying vermilion, sacred grass (Durva), curd, and unbroken rice grains, she lovingly marks Krishna’s forehead with auspicious tilak in many traditional ways.
She offers four varieties of delicious food along with numerous divine delicacies while festive drums and musical instruments resound all around. The cowherd boys dance joyfully, sprinkling sacred vermilion, and everyone offers gifts and celebrates the divine occasion.
The gods, humans, sages, and the maidens of Vraja shower fragrant flowers from above, smiling with devotion and delight. Poet Krishnadas says that the enchanting face of Lord Giridhar (Krishna) is so radiant and beautiful that even the moon feels shy before His incomparable divine brilliance.
