The temple is made entirely of locally sourced stone and displays intricate carvings of Hindu deities, floral motifs, and geometric patterns.
The main sanctum houses a Shiva Lingam.
The temple complex also includes two additional shrines – one dedicated to Ratneshwar and the other to Champawati Durga.
The temple’s design reflects North Indian Nagara-style architecture with exquisite detailing on pillars, ceilings, and doorways.
The carved sculptures of dancing Shiva, Ganesha, and other deities add to its artistic brilliance.
How to Reach to Temple
By Air: The nearest airport is Pantnagar Airport, about 170 km away. Taxis are available from the airport to Champawat.
By Train: The nearest railway station is Tanakpur (approx. 75 km). From there, buses and taxis are available.
By Road: Champawat is well-connected by road to major cities like Haldwani, Nainital, and Almora. Regular buses and shared jeeps operate to and from Champawat.
