worshipped in his childhood form as Balaji Ji, especially revered for its ritualistic healing and exorcism practices.

Mythological Significance & History

The temple’s origins date back around 1,000 years, with Lord Balaji said to have manifested at the site as a Swayambhu (self-manifested) image.

Over the centuries, it became famous for healing mental disorders and demonic afflictions. An international study involving psychiatrists from AIIMS and European universities examined the temple’s healing rites in 2013.

Significance of the Temple

Devotees believe the shrine wards off evil spirits, black magic, mental ailments, and provides spiritual relief by performing rituals for Lord Balaji, Pretraj Sarkar, and Kotwal Bhairav Ji.

The temple is known for its healing pilgrimages, where people arrive to receive relief from emotional or spiritual difficulties through unique exorcism rituals.

Architecture of the Temple

Built in traditional Rajasthani style using red sandstone, with a courtyard and multiple inside “chambers” dedicated to Balaji, Pretraj, and Bhairav.

The atmosphere is deliberately intense, featuring elements such as black oil balls, ritual fires, and stark interiors, reflecting its spiritual intensity
