The Yadadri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, also known as Yadagirigutta Temple, is a sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Narasimha, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Located in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district of Telangana, the temple is perched atop a hillock and attracts lakhs of devotees every year.

“यदाद्रि की पावन भूमि पर हर श्वास में नरसिंह का आशीर्वाद समाया है।”

― Yadadri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple

It is considered one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in South India and is managed by the Telangana State Government.

Mythological Significance & History

The temple’s legend is rooted in the Skanda Purana, which mentions that Sage Yada, the son of Sage Rishyasringa, performed intense penance here. Pleased by his devotion, Lord Narasimha appeared in five different forms:
Jwala Narasimha
Yogananda Narasimha
Ugra Narasimha
Gandabherunda Narasimha
Lakshmi Narasimha
These five forms are worshipped together at this temple, earning it the name Pancha Narasimha Kshetram. The temple was a smaller cave shrine historically and was renovated massively between 2016–2022.

Significance of the Temple

The temple is believed to heal mental and physical ailments.
It is the only temple where all five forms of Narasimha are worshipped in one place.
It is associated with powerful spiritual vibrations and miracles reported by devotees.
One of the top pilgrimage sites in Telangana and a major Vaishnava (Vishnu) shrine.

Architecture of the Temple

The temple is built in traditional Dravidian architecture with grand gopurams (temple towers) and intricately carved pillars.

Renovation began in 2016 and was completed in 2022, transforming it into a modern-day spiritual marvel costing ₹1800+ crores.

Stones used include Krishna Shila (black granite), Sthri Shila (for female deities), and Napunsaka Shila (for floors and walls).

The temple complex includes:
