Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Vari Devasthanam, Annavaram

The temple was constructed in 1933 AD. According to legend, a devotee named Eredivi Sheshachalam Dora, guided by divine visions, discovered the idol of Lord Satyanarayana along with Goddess Ananta Lakshmi. Soon after, the temple was established with the support of the local people and rulers. Since then, it has grown into one of the most important Vaishnavite pilgrimage centers in Andhra Pradesh, attracting devotees from all over India.






Architecture of the Temple

The temple is built in a unique blend of Dravidian and Orissan architectural styles.
The temple tower (gopuram) is finely decorated with mythological carvings.
The main sanctum (garbhagriha) houses Lord Satyanarayana Swamy in standing posture, along with Goddess Ananta Lakshmi.
The temple is a two-storied structure:
The ground floor has a shrine dedicated to Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, and Anjaneya.
The upper floor enshrines Lord Satyanarayana Swamy.

By Air: Nearest airport – Rajahmundry Airport (75 km) and Visakhapatnam Airport (120 km).
By Train: Annavaram Railway Station (on Howrah–Chennai main line) is just 2 km away.
By Road: Well connected by buses and taxis from Kakinada (50 km), Rajahmundry (72 km), and Visakhapatnam (120 km).
