Food

The secret of perfect health lies in keeping the mind always cheerful – never worried, never hurried, never borne down by any fear, thought or anxiety.
The food we consume should be tasty, sustaining and pleasant; It should not be too hot or too salty; there must be a balance and an equilibrium maintained.Sri Sathya Sai Baba, known worldwide for his spiritual teachings and humanitarian work, placed great emphasis on selfless service to humanity. Among his most remarkable contributions are the large-scale food and drinking water projects undertaken to uplift the poor and underprivileged. These initiatives were not only massive in scale but also unique in that they were provided completely free of cost, regardless of religion, caste, or background. For millions, Sathya Sai Baba was not only a spiritual guide but also a provider of life’s most essential needs:
food and water. One of the most powerful expressions of Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s compassion was the initiative to feed the hungry. His devotees and organizations inspired by him continue to serve food in thousands of places around the world. In particular, the Annapoorna Breakfast Program, inspired by his teachings, has been serving nutritious breakfast to over a million school children in India. This program began with the simple idea that no child should go to school hungry. Malnutrition and hunger affect a child’s ability to learn, grow, and lead a healthy life. By addressing this basic need, the program not only fills stomachs but also nurtures minds and builds futures.
Meals are freshly cooked, hygienically prepared, and served lovingly — often by volunteers who consider this service as a form of worship. In many rural and underserved urban areas, this is the only proper meal children receive in a day. True to Sai Baba’s ideal of “Grama Seva is Rama Seva” (Service to the village is service to God), these initiatives bring joy, health, and hope to thousands of families.Perhaps one of the most extraordinary humanitarian efforts initiated by Sri Sathya Sai Baba is the series of drinking water supply projects that brought clean water to millions of people across India. Beginning in the mid-1990s, these projects were launched to solve chronic water shortages in arid and drought-prone regions like Anantapur, Medak, Mahbubnagar, and other parts of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and even Chennai city.
