Ramchaura Mandir is a revered Hindu temple located in Hajipur, Bihar. It is dedicated to Lord Rama and is believed to be the place where he had his mundan (first head-shaving ceremony) during his childhood.

Mythological Significance & History

The temple dates back to the Treta Yuga, as per legend, making it one of the oldest Rama temples in Bihar. The footprints are said to have been left during Lord Rama’s journey to Janakpur. Over the centuries, saints and sages have visited this spot, and archaeological evidence found near the temple is now preserved in the Patna Museum.

The temple is spiritually significant due to its association with Lord Rama’s early life.

Nearest airport is Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Airport, Patna, about 21–24 km away.

By Train:
Hajipur Junction is the nearest railway station, around 3–4 km from the temple.

By Road:
Hajipur is well-connected by road to Patna (approx. 10 km), Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, and other cities. Auto-rickshaws and buses are easily available.
