Mahavir Mandir

It’s regarded as one of the most visited religious shrines in North India and is also known locally as the “Manokamna Temple”, believed to fulfill devotees’ wishes.






Architecture of the Temple

he temple has a three-level structure (ground floor + two upper floors), covering about 10,000 sq ft, built in the Nagara style, enhanced later with marble.
Ground Floor: Sanctum has two Hanuman idols—one grants wishes, the other purifies the wicked. Adjacent are passages with a shrine to Lord Shiva, shoe storage, and ablution facilities.
First Floor: Features life-size idols of Lord Rama, Lord Krishna (teaching Arjun), Goddess Durga, Lord Shiva with Parvati & Nandi, plus the Ram Setu Shila (a 15 kg stone said to be from Rama’s bridge), housed in glass.
Second Floor: A ritual hall (Sanskar Mandap) for mantra chanting, Japa, Satyanarayan Katha, scriptural recitals. Walls feature Ramayana pictographs.
The complex also includes shops, offices, palmistry, gemstone centers, and more—making it a vibrant spiritual hub
How to Reach to Temple
By Train: Right outside Patna Junction—just a few steps away.
By Air: Approximately 6–7 km from Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport—reachable by taxi or auto.
By Road: Well-connected via city buses, autos, taxis. Parking can be challenging due to crowds.
Best Time to Visit: October–March, when weather is pleasant. Avoid Tuesdays and Saturdays to avoid rush hours.
