ध्यानमूलं गुरुर्मूर्तिः - Dhyana Mulam Gurur Murti

ध्यानमूलं गुरुर्मूर्तिः

ध्यानमूलं गुरुर्मूर्तिः
पूजामूलं गुरुर्पदम् ।
मन्त्रमूलं गुरुर्वाक्यं
मोक्षमूलं गुरूर्कृपा ॥

Dhyaana-Muulam Gurur-Muurtih
Puujaa-Muulam Gurur-Padam |
Mantra-Muulam Gurur-Vaakyam
Mokssa-Muulam Guruur-Krpaa ||

Meaning:

1: The Root of Meditation is the Form of the Guru,

2: The Root of Worship is the Feet of the Guru,

3: The Root of Mantra is the Word of the Guru,

4: The Root of Liberation is the Grace of the Guru.

कायेन वाचा मनसेन्द्रियैर्वा

कायेन वाचा मनसेन्द्रियैर्वा
बुद्ध्यात्मना वा प्रकृतेः स्वभावात् ।
करोमि यद्यत्सकलं परस्मै
गुरुवरायेति समर्पयामि ॥

Dhyaana-Muulam Gurur-Muurtih
Kaayena Vaacaa Manase[a-I]ndriyairvaa
Buddhy[i]-Aatmanaa Vaa Prakrteh Svabhaavaat |
Karomi Yad-Yat-Sakalam Parasmai
Guru-Varaayeti Samarpayaami ||

Meaning:

1: (Whatever I do) with my Body, Speech, Mind or Sense Organs,

2: (Whatever I do) using my Intellect, Feelings of Heart or (unconsciously) through the natural tendencies of my Mind,

3: Whatever I do, I do all for others (i.e. without the sense of attachment to the results),

4: (And) I Surrender them all at the Lotus Feet of the Supreme Guru.

ॐ नमः शिवाय गुरवे

ॐ नमः शिवाय गुरवे
सच्चिदानन्द मूर्तये ।
निष्प्रपञ्चाय शान्ताय
निरालम्बाय तेजसे ॥

Om Namah Shivaaya Gurave
Sac-Cid-Aananda Muurtaye |
Niss-Prapan.caaya Shaantaaya
Nir-Aalambaaya Tejase ||

Meaning:

1: Om, Salutations to the Auspicious Guru …

2: … Who is an Embodiment of Sat-Cit-Ananda (Existence – Consciousness – Bliss),

3: Who is Free from (i.e. Beyond) Manifoldness, and Who is Tranquil,

4: Who is the Self-Effulgent Divine Illumination without any external Support.

Stotras

भवसागर तारण कारण हे - Bhava Sagara Tarana Karana He

भवसागर तारण कारण हे

भवसागर तारण कारण हे ।
रविनन्दन बन्धन खण्डन हे ॥
शरणागत किंकर भीत मने ।
गुरुदेव दया करो दीनजने ॥१॥

Bhava-Saagara Taaranna Kaaranna He |
Ravi-Nandana Bandhana Khannddana He ||
Sharannaagata Kinkara Bhiita Mane |
Gurudeva Dayaa Karo Diina-Jane ||1||

Meaning:

1.1: (I salute the Gurudeva) Who is the (only) means of crossing this Ocean of Samsara (Worldly Existence),

1.2: (Who is the only means of) Breaking the Bondage of the Son of the Sun God (i.e. Yamadeva, the god of Death),

1.3: I have approached You as a Servant, for Your Refuge, with a Mind filled with the Fear (of the never-ending Samsara) …

1.4: … O Gurudeva, Please shower Your Mercy on me, (Please shower Your Grace on this) Helpless soul,

श्री गुरुस्तोत्रम्: गुरुर्ब्रह्मा गुरुर्विष्णुर्गुरुर्देवो महेश्वरः

गुरुर्ब्रह्मा गुरुर्विष्णुर्गुरुर्देवो महेश्वरः ।
गुरुरेव परं ब्रह्म तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥१॥

Gurur-Brahmaa Gurur-Vissnnur-Gururdevo Maheshvarah |
Gurure[-I]va Param Brahma Tasmai Shrii-Gurave Namah ||1||

Meaning:

1.1: The Guru is Brahma, the Guru is Vishnu, the Guru Deva is Maheswara (Shiva),

1.2: The Guru is Verily the Para-Brahman (Supreme Brahman); Salutations to that Guru.
