Gangotri Temple
The temple is situated at an altitude of 3,100 meters (10,200 ft) in the Garhwal Himalayas, on the banks of the Bhagirathi River, which later becomes the Ganga.
Architecture of the Temple
The temple is built in white granite, in the Nagara style of architecture.
It stands at a height of 20 feet, with a simple and serene structure.
The sanctum houses a silver idol of Goddess Ganga, flanked by idols of Goddess Yamuna, Lord Shiva, Lord Hanuman, and King Bhagiratha.
Nearby is the Bhairon Ghati, believed to be the protector of the temple, and Pandava Gufa, where the Pandavas are said to have meditated.

- Final motorable point is Gangotri town itself
