Baladev Dauji Temple

Location: Situated in Baldeo town, approximately 20–21 km from Mathura, this temple is dedicated to Lord Balarama, lovingly called Dauji — Krishna’s elder brother.

Legend & Origin: The idol is said to have been consecrated by Vajranabha, Krishna’s great-grandson, around 1535 AD, and is considered one of the oldest in the Braj region.

Architecture of the Temple

Built like a fort with four grand gates — Singhchaur, Janani Deodhi, Goshala Dwar, and Badvale.

The central sanctum houses a majestic black stone idol of Lord Balarama (~7 ft tall), adorned with a plough and mace. A statue of his consort Revati stands discreetly nearby.

The temple complex includes the expansive Kshir Sagar (Balabhadra Kund) — a sacred tank with ghats used for ritual purification

By Road: Baldeo is ~20 km from Mathura, easily accessible by car, taxi, or auto-rickshaw.

By Rail: Nearest is Mathura Junction, from where the temple is a short drive away.

By Air: Closest airports are Agra (Kheria Airport) (~65 km) and Delhi (IGI) (~160 km).
