Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple

The Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, popularly known as Yadadri or Yadagirigutta, is a revered hilltop shrine dedicated to Lord Narasimha, the fierce avatar of Lord Vishnu, along with Goddess Lakshmi.

Situated on a scenic hillock in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, Telangana, it’s often dubbed the “Tirupati of Telangana.”

Mythological Significance & History

According to legend from the Skanda Purana, the sage Yada Rishi performed intense penance on this hill. Pleased with his devotion, Lord Narasimha manifested in five divine formsJwala, Yogananda, Ugra, Gandabherunda, and Lakshmi Narasimha—forever residing here as a symbol of divine grace.
The temple underwent a grand-scale renovation between 2016 and March 2022, transforming it into a stunning spiritual landmark.

Significance of the Temple

The temple is a Pancha Narasimha Kshetram, worshipping all five avatars of Narasimha in one sacred space.
Positioned on a hill, it offers a peaceful ambience and is a magnet for devotees seeking spiritual solace, healing, and the fulfillment of vows.
On average, 5,000–8,000 pilgrims visit daily, with numbers rising significantly on weekends and during special puja events.

Architecture of the Temple

The temple features elegant Dravidian architecture, with a golden Sudarshana Chakra (approx. 3 ft × 3 ft) atop the sanctum, which is said to rotate or orient itself magically towards approaching devotees.

In line with Pancharatra Agama traditions, the temple rituals follow a centuries-old Vaishnava liturgical pattern. The puja protocols—including Suprabhatam, Stotra, Prapatti, and Mangala Shasanam—were established by the revered Sthanacharya Vangeepuram Narasimhacharyulu

By Road: The temple is approximately 60–65 km from Hyderabad, accessible via a direct highway.

By Rail: The nearest station is Raigir, just about 6 km away, while Bhongir town is another nearby node (~13 km).
