Mythological Significance & History

Constructed in 1845 CE by Bhagali Devi, wife of ruler Shyam Dev Khinchi, as a memorial after his death in battle.
Amara Singh Gurjar, an ally, became the first head priest, and his family continues to serve as temple priests.
The temple is remarkable for a sculpture panel depicting six Muslim men offering Namaz, representing religious harmony.
During British rule, the temple was plundered — nearly 123 kg of gold was looted.
It was restored in 1987, though some parts remain missing.
Today, it is a protected monument under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
