Galta Temple, jaipur-Rajasthan

The site features natural springs that flow into a series of seven sacred kunds (water tanks) where pilgrims bathe, especially the continuously filled Galta Kund.

Architecture of the Temple

Built from pink sandstone, the site blends Rajasthani and Mughal architectural styles. Expect intricately carved stone pillars, rounded chhatris, frescoed walls, and royal haveli-like structures surrounded by natural beauty.
The seven kunds are uniquely fed by springs emerging through a “Gau-Mukh” (cow’s mouth) rock formation—adding both symbolism and functionality to the design.
Key shrines: the main Hanuman temple, Shri Gyan Gopal Ji Temple (in haveli style without a shikhara), Sitaram Ji temple, and a small Sun Temple at the hills’ summit offering panoramic views of Jaipur.
