सूर्य, अर्यमा, भग, त्वष्टा, पूषा, अर्क, सविता, रवि,

He is Varuna, the Ocean itself,
the brilliant one with rays,
the Lord of clouds (Jimutah),
the giver of life (Jivana),
and the destroyer of enemies (Ariha).
सूर्यदेव समय के अधिपति (कालाध्यक्ष),
सभी प्राणियों के स्वामी (प्रजाध्यक्ष),
सृष्टि के रचयिता (विश्वकर्मा) और
अज्ञान रूपी अंधकार को दूर करने वाले (तमोनुद) हैं।

The Sun is the support of all beings (Bhutashraya),
the Lord of all creatures (Bhutapati),
and worshiped by all worlds (Sarvalokanamaskrita).
He is the creator (Srashta),
the cause of dissolution (Samvartaka),
the embodiment of fire (Vahni),
the origin of everything (Sarvasyadi),
and free from desires (Alolupa).
सूर्यदेव सभी प्राणियों के आधार (भूताश्रय),
सभी प्राणियों के स्वामी (भूतपति),

The Sun is infinite (Ananta),
tawny or golden in color (Kapila),
radiant (Bhanu),
fulfiller of desires (Kamadaha),
all-seeing (Sarvatomukha).
He is ever victorious (Jaya),
vast in form (Vishala),
bestower of boons (Varada),
and worshiped by all beings (Sarvabhutanishevita).
सूर्यदेव अनंत स्वरूप (अनन्त),
कपिल वर्ण के (कपिल),
प्रकाशमान (भानु),
सभी इच्छाओं को पूर्ण करने वाले (कामद),
सर्वत्र मुख वाले, सब पर दृष्टि रखने वाले (सर्वतोमुख) हैं।
वे सदा विजयशाली (जय),
विशाल स्वरूप के (विशाल),
वर देने वाले (वरद) और
सभी प्राणियों द्वारा पूजित (सर्वभूतनिषेवित) हैं।
मन: सुपर्णो भूतादि: शीघ्रग: प्राणधारणः ।धन्वन्तरिर्धूमकेतुरादिदेवोsदिते: सुत: ।।10।।

The Sun is the master of the mind (Manah),
bright like Garuda (Suparna),
the origin of all beings (Bhutadih),
swift-moving (Shighraga).
He is the sustainer of life (Pranadharana),
the divine physician (Dhanvantari),
the radiant comet (Dhumaketu),
the primordial deity (Adideva),
and the son of Aditi (Aditeh Suta).
सूर्यदेव मन के स्वामी (मनः),
सुपर्ण (गरुड़ के समान तेजस्वी),
सभी प्राणियों के आदि कारण (भूतादि),
अत्यंत शीघ्र गति वाले (शीघ्रग) हैं।
वे सभी प्राणियों के प्राणों को धारण करने वाले (प्राणधारण),
धन्वंतरि (औषधि और आरोग्य के देवता),
धूमकेतु (तेजस्वी ज्योतिर्मय),
आदि देव (प्रथम देवता) और
अदिति के पुत्र (अदितेः सुत) हैं।

The Sun is embodied in twelve forms (Dvadashatma),
lotus-eyed (Aravindaksha),
and regarded as Father, Mother, and Grandfather of all beings.
He is the gateway to creation (Prajadvara),
the door to heaven (Svargadvara),
the pathway to liberation (Mokshadvara),
and represents the heavenly realm (Trivishtapam).
सूर्यदेव बारह रूपों (द्वादशात्मा) वाले,
कमल जैसे नेत्रों वाले (अरविन्दाक्ष),
पिता, माता और पितामह (दादा) के समान पालनहार हैं।
वे सृष्टि के द्वार (प्रजाद्वार),
स्वर्ग के द्वार (स्वर्गद्वार),
मोक्ष का मार्ग (मोक्षद्वार) और
त्रिविष्टप (स्वर्गलोक) स्वरूप हैं।

The Sun is the creator of all bodies (Dehakarta),
the embodiment of supreme peace (Prashantatma),
the soul of the entire universe (Vishvatma),
and faces all directions (Vishvatomukha).
He is the soul of all moving and unmoving beings (Characharātma),
the subtle essence (Sukshmatma),
a friend to all (Maitreya),
and filled with compassion (Karunanvita).
सूर्यदेव देहों के रचयिता (देहकर्ता),
पूर्णतः शांत आत्मा (प्रशान्तात्मा),
संपूर्ण जगत् के आत्मा (विश्वात्मा),
सर्वदिशाओं में मुख वाले (विश्वतोमुख) हैं।
वे चर और अचर सभी के आत्मा (चराचरात्मा),
सूक्ष्म स्वरूप (सूक्ष्मात्मा),
मित्रस्वभावी (मैत्रेय) और
दयालु करुणा से भरे (करुणान्वित) हैं।

मैं उस भास्कर (सूर्यदेव) को प्रणाम करता हूँ,
जिनकी सेवा देवता, पितर, यक्ष करते हैं,
जिन्हें असुर, राक्षस, निशाचर, सिद्ध भी सम्मान देते हैं।
जिनका तेज सोने के समान चमकते अग्नि के समान है।

जो व्यक्ति सूर्योदय के समय ध्यानपूर्वक इस स्तुति का पाठ करता है,
वह पुत्र, पत्नी, धन और रत्नों का संग्रह प्राप्त करता है।
वह पिछले जन्मों को स्मरण करने की शक्ति, स्थिर मन और उत्कृष्ट बुद्धि को प्राप्त करता है।
इमं स्तवं देववरस्य यो नरः प्रकीर्तयेच्छुचिसुमनाः समाहितः ।विमुच्यते शोकदवाग्निसागराल्लभेत कामान्मनसा यथेप्सितान् ॥16॥

“जो मनुष्य इस श्रेष्ठ देव (सूर्य) के इस स्तोत्र का
श्रद्धापूर्वक, शुद्ध मन और एकाग्रचित्त होकर
नित्य पाठ करता है, वह शोक रूपी अग्नि-सागर से
मुक्त हो जाता है और मन के अनुसार सभी
इच्छित कामनाओं की प्राप्ति करता है।”
