Pariyanampatta Bhagavathy Temple, Kattukulam

The origin legend speaks of a Namboothiri who, after receiving blessings at the Mookambika Temple in Kollur, discovered the idol—or thidambu—in his own bundle while resting at Pariyanampatta.






Architecture of the Temple

The temple spans one acre within a larger 8-acre complex, featuring:
Intricate wood carvings of the Ashta Dikpalayas surrounding the Sree Chakra and motifs of Bhadrakali flanked by elephants adorn the mandapam entrance
Sreekovil (sanctum), Mukha Mandapam, flagstaff (dhwajam), lamp-post (deepasthambam), sub-shrines, kitchen (thidapalli), dining hall (ootupura), and resting area (agrasala).
How to Reach to Temple
By Road: Kattukulam is about 17 km from Ottapalam. The temple is well-connected via KSRTC and private buses.
By Rail: Nearest railhead is Palakkad Railway Station, approximately 31–35 km away.
By Air: Coimbatore International Airport is the closest, at around 96–101 km distance
