The temple is considered one of the major Vaishnavite pilgrimage sites in Assam.
The presiding deity, Lord Krishna as Govinda, symbolizes divine love, compassion, and joy.
The most significant celebration is the annual Holi festival (Doul Utsav), which attracts thousands of devotees from across the state and beyond.

Architecture of the Temple

The temple reflects traditional Assamese style architecture with a simple yet spiritually powerful design.

It consists of a spacious prayer hall (namghar), a sanctum sanctorum (garbhagriha) housing the idol of Lord Krishna, and an open courtyard for gatherings.

The temple premises also include areas for community prayers and celebrations, embodying the Assamese Vaishnavite culture inspired by Srimanta Sankardev.

By Road: Located around 8 km from Guwahati city center. You can take a ferry across the Brahmaputra from Guwahati to Rajaduar or use road transport via Saraighat Bridge.

By Rail: Nearest major station is Guwahati Railway Station, about 10–12 km away.

By Air: The nearest airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (Guwahati Airport), about 20 km from the temple.
