Mythological Significance & History

The temple was established in 1974 by Baba Sant Nagpal Ji, a revered saint and devotee of the Divine Mother. Since then, the temple has grown into a grand pilgrimage site for Shakti worshippers. The temple is relatively modern but holds deep spiritual significance. After the passing of Baba Sant Nagpal Ji in 1998, his samadhi was also built within the temple premises, where devotees pay their respects.

The temple is one of the most important Shakti Peeths in Delhi, dedicated to Maa Katyayani.
It is believed that praying here helps devotees overcome obstacles, find peace, and fulfill wishes.
During Navratri, the temple hosts grand celebrations, drawing huge crowds from Delhi and neighboring states.

Architecture of the Temple

The temple showcases a combination of North Indian (Nagara) and South Indian (Dravidian) styles of architecture.

Constructed mainly with white marble, the temple complex is adorned with intricate carvings, domes, and arches.

The main sanctum houses the idol of Maa Katyayani, decorated beautifully with flowers and jewelry.

The vast temple complex also includes shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Hanuman, Maa Mahishasuramardini, and other deities.
