Shri Vimla Devi Shaktipeeth Temple

Here, it is believed that the navel (nābhi) of Goddess Sati fell when Lord Shiva carried her body after her self-immolation in the Daksha Yajna.

Architecture of the Temple

Architectural Style:
The temple is built in the Kalinga style of Odisha — characterized by curvilinear towers (Rekha Deula), heavy stone work, and intricate carvings.
Temple Features:
- Small but powerful shrine located in the south-west corner of the Jagannath Temple complex.
- Intricate stone carvings on walls and sanctum.
- Surrounded by other smaller shrines.
- Garbhagriha (sanctum) houses a black stone murti (idol) of Devi Vimla.
- Stone flooring with sacred yantras and mandalas.
Symbolic Placement:
The southwest direction (Nairitya Kona) of the temple complex is traditionally associated with Shakti and strength in Vastu Shastra.
