Here, the Devi is worshipped as Devgarbha, and Lord Shiva as Rukreshwar (or Rukresh Bhairava).
Though the exact present-day temple structure is uncertain and may have been lost to time or absorbed into local traditions, the spiritual energy of this Peeth remains revered by many worshippers, especially those invoking divine feminine power for childbirth, healing, and protection.

Architecture of Shri Devgarbha Shaktipeeth

Since there is no surviving major temple complex today, scholars and spiritual followers reconstruct its architecture hypothetically based on Odisha’s temple-building styles (Kalinga architecture) and descriptions in Puranic literature.
If restored or reconstructed, the temple would likely have featured:
🪷 Elements of Kalinga Architecture:
Temple Tank (Pushkarini):
Possibly a sacred water tank nearby used for purification before entering the shrine.
Vimana (Sanctum Tower):
A curvilinear tower over the garbhagriha, resembling the Rekha Deula style prominent in temples like Lingaraj and Mukteshwar.
Jagamohana (Assembly Hall):
A rectangular hall in front of the sanctum for devotees to gather.
Intricate Carvings:
Walls adorned with stone carvings of Devi in her various forms — especially in her fertility and cosmic mother aspects.
Lotus Motif & Shakti Yantras:
Symbolizing creation and divine feminine energy, the interiors may have included carved yantras, lotus ceilings, and stone altars.
