This sacred shrine in Akkalkot, Maharashtra, marks the final abode of Shri Swami Samarth, who is widely revered as an incarnation of Lord Dattatreya and the spiritual successor of Narasimha Saraswati.

Swami Samarth arrived in Akkalkot around 1856 by invitation of his devotee Chintopant Tol and resided in the home of his disciple Cholappa, which is now the temple site. His life and teachings continue to inspire devotees across India.

Architecture of the Temple

The temple reflects modern architecture with a two-storied structure, including a sabha mandap (assembly hall), and was renovated between 1920–1946. It houses Swami Samarth’s samadhi, padukas (footprints), personal belongings, idols, a museum, library, meditation hall, guest accommodations, and a community food hall (annachatra).

By Rail: Nearest stations are Akkalkot Road (11–13 km) and Solapur (around 40 km).
