Ranthambore Trinetra Ganesh Temple is one of the most sacred and unique temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha, located inside the Ranthambore Fort in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan.

This temple is famous for housing Lord Ganesha along with his complete family – Goddess Riddhi, Siddhi, and sons Shubh and Labh, along with the divine vehicle Mushak (mouse).

Mythological Significance & History

The temple dates back to the 13th century and was built by King Hammir Dev Chauhan.

According to legends, during a siege on Ranthambore Fort, when all food supplies were cut off, King Hammir had a divine dream in which Lord Ganesha appeared and blessed him with victory.

Significance of the Temple

Lord Ganesha is known as the Remover of Obstacles and the First Deity to be Worshipped in Hinduism.

People from all over India send wedding cards, housewarming invitations, and business inauguration letters to the deity here as a tradition.

Architecture of the Temple

The temple is built in Rajasthani architectural style using red sandstone.

It features:

  • A pyramidal Shikhara (temple tower).
  • Intricate carvings and traditional motifs.
  • The sanctum houses the Trinetra (three-eyed) idol of Lord Ganesha along with his family.

The temple is located within the Ranthambore Fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers stunning panoramic views.

How to Reach to Temple

Location: Ranthambore Fort, Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, India

By Road: Easily accessible via road from Jaipur, Kota, or Delhi. Local taxis, autos, or private vehicles can reach the base of the fort, from where visitors have to walk uphill.

By Train: Nearest railway station is Sawai Madhopur Junction (SWM), well connected to Delhi, Jaipur, and Kota.

By Air: Nearest airport is Jaipur International Airport (Approx. 160 km away).
