Naina Devi Temple

It holds immense spiritual and mythological significance and is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, where the eyes (Naina) of Goddess Sati are believed to have fallen.






Architecture of the Temple

The architecture is traditional Himalayan stone and wood, with a steep-pitched roof to withstand snow.
The main sanctum houses a stone idol or rock pindi of Goddess Surkanda.
The temple is surrounded by dense pine and deodar forests and snow-covered peaks during winter.
The approach to the temple involves a steep 1.5 km trek from the base village Kaddukhal, lined with flags, prayer bells, and scenic viewpoints
