Letter to Beloved Mother Sai…

Letter to Beloved Mother Sai… At a time when Beloved Bhagawan chose to enact a Divine Drama, by Himself spending 28 days at the SSSIHMS, before leaving His physical frame, the world around was engaged in incessant prayers, not to ignore the sentient world of animal, bird and creature kingdom…and many other world where humans eyes cannot pierce to grasp…How beautifully a human heart can perceive His Avataric Frame, taking it as a wholesome representation of the Cosmic Entity…His Created Universe…? Sri Jullie Chaudhuri wrote a beautiful letter, on 9 April 2011, addressing the Cosmic Creator, pleading Him to forgive on behalf of all of His children…Read on… Our life at Your treasured Lotus Feet… Maa…You know what You mean to us all…and so how can You say – pray with love and concern but not with anxiety… how can we not be anxious about what’s happening to our Mother…when all that ever mattered,  matters now and will ever matter is You…our dearly Beloved You… Maa, that is the Avataric frame…and you have always said it belongs to the devotees…Maa, You are not willing to use Your healing powers, with which You have cured millions, for Yourself…but that form is ours…bhakta’s property… We implore You to heal this PRECIOUS,  CHERISHED PROPERTY  ASAP…as soon as possible…please Maa…the devotees are in pain, distressed, anxious, devastated… Maa, You are ever concerned about Your children…so am sure You understand our prime concern is You…come Maa…come back to us…we are waiting for Your darshan… Everything is so still…because the heart is missing…life has meaning only because of You…do we want to live if You are not there…? Can there be rays of the sun without Lord Surya? Around what would Earth revolve, if there was no Sun? How can the waves remain if there is no Ocean? Beloved Maa…we appeal to You on behalf of the elements five, we beg You on behalf of Mother Earth, each petal of every flower, each blade of grass, all the birds and animals – winged, finned, four legged or two – have sent a petition to You…this letter is their emissary…it represents their pain…for we feel their pain…and we know that Beloved Sai Maa feels it too and knows this to be true… We also implore You, on behalf of the rivers and lakes, the seas and the oceans…every drop of water flows with Your name and is beseeching You through every ripple – Aao Maa…Tera intezaar hai… Maa, what are these machines put on Your glorious physical frame?  You have pampered them enough by fulfilling their longing to serve You…but now Sai Maa, we need You…leave those machines, they have been blessed enough and shower on Your other children the immense grace of the  darshan of Your magnificent form. You are our very breath, because of You, Vayudev has come into being Maa, and You need a machine to ‘assist’ You, Maa…? Please Maa, hear our plea…’Aao Maa, aakar darsh deekhao…’ Maa, toxins in the Divine Form, kidneys not functioning well, means we have disregarded and polluted Mother Earth and the water element – the rivers and seas and the oceans too; the lungs not working well reflects upon the gross misuse of the Air element and contamination here too; the heart of the Universe needing a pace maker shows we have driven out brotherhood, care, concern, compassion, love, mercy and forgiveness too…Maa, forgive us…we implore You…guide us to mend our ways… You are our Mother…and we want You ever with us…we need You…the elements five need You, Mother Nature needs You…the flora and fauna need You…the Universe needs You…Don’t punish them for humanity’s folly, beloved One…we pledge to reform and Your presence with us is the only way out…humankind needs You to learn how to be kind… to transform earth beings into ‘human’ beings, to understand the meaning of the word human…forgive us we beg You, our grave blunders, our gross neglect, sweet Mother…resume the supreme benediction of Your darshan, sparshan and sambhashan…we are not so deserving, Oh Maa, but You are our Mother and Your love is incomparable and Your forgiveness – an innate part of Your boundless, limitless love… Aao, Aao Maa, Aao Aao, Hum Mey Aakar Darsh Dikhao…Aana Hi Padhega Maa…Aana Hi Padhega…All our Love at your Lotus Feet…our hearts beat only because You reside in it… Beloved Sai Maa…this is a petition on behalf of all Your children, at the behest of creation, an earnest appeal  from the Cosmos to You – the Divine Mother…Come Maa, we await You at the gates of Prasanthi Nilayam…with tears of repentance and longing in our eyes and our arms open wide… Maa,  Tera Intezar Hai,Sai Maa,Terey Bin Ab Rahaa Nahi Jaaye…Dil Ki Aawaaz Tum Ho,Har Dadhkan Muskaan Tum Ho,Saason Ki Pehchan Tumho,Maa…Sub Kuch Tum Ho…With Love…To Love…From Love… II Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu II

Defending Mother India…

Defending Mother India… India, the magical land of great spiritual inheritance, is hailed by Bhagawan umpteen times, teaching the students and devotees of the greater glory of Motherland India. How Bhagawan delivered a ‘pep talk, a Divine discourse to the Army personnel at Army Service Corps Centre for South India, raising the spirits of the warriors, blessing them with Divine Assurance of victory for every Truthful… Righteous attempt in the name of Mother India…!?!?!? Extracted from Bhagawan’s Divine discourse on Jan 5, 1973. India is a land, dedicated to Truth, Righteousness, Peace and Love; you are dedicated to the service of the Motherland, to defend her and preserve her independence. This is in accordance with the ancient injunction, Matru Devo Bhava—Revere the Mother as you would revere God. You are ready and prepared to sacrifice even your lives in her service, whatever others may do or may not do. I Am glad your devotion is so strong and so sincere. Truth, Righteousness, Peace and Love—these are the four pillars on which the mansion of happiness, here and hereafter, is built. India too must build her happiness on these columns only. They are the real supports of India, of India’s security, prosperity and glory. We have forgotten this truth; we have neglected the foundation; hence, all this suffering today. God will always be with you in your struggle for the defense of this land. From within you, He will be guiding and inspiring you, to discharge your duty. Truth is God, and Work is Worship. By unselfish Service, strict adherence to Duty, and dedication to the cause of Peace you are promoting the welfare of India and of all humanity. The Mahabharata War is a good example of the guidance that God grants when righteousness defends itself against the forces of evil. Krishna was the very heart of the Pandava Body! Dharmaja, the eldest of the Five Brothers was the Head; Bhima, the second brother, was the Stomach; Arjuna, the third, was the Arms; Nakula and Sahadeva, the twins, were the Legs—and Krishna was the Heart. God will not merely speak and guide from the heart; He will Himself be the Heart, provided you pray to Him to bless you so. We achieve Peace and Joy, only through sacrifice. Giving yields more joy than grasping. Since you are all prepared for the highest sacrifice, you are genuine Sons of Bharat. Many do not realise the joy that can be derived from unselfishness; they waste their years and their lives in the pursuit of selfish ends. They are so conceited that they do not revere parents, elders, the saints and the sages. They do not invoke the grace of God through prayer. As a result, India is leaving off its age‑old traditions and taking on new fashions and patterns of behaviour, thus landing people in misery. The body is referred to in the Gita as Kshetram, that is to say, a holy place where God is installed. Kasi is a Kshetram, Bhadrachalam is a Kshetram. The body‑kshetram is Dharmakshetram as well as Kurukshetram, the abode of Righteousness and of Activity. God in the Kshetram Is The Kshetrajna, the Sivam without Whom the body is but savam or corpse. Therefore, be ever aware of the God Who Is The Real `you’, and seek solace, sustenance and guidance from Him through prayer. II Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu II

Greater Heaven’s GIFT called Sathya Sai Darshan

Greater Heaven’s GIFT called Sathya Sai Darshan What is the supreme significance of Sri Sathya Sai Darshan??? God descends every time to help ascend man to his original state of Godhood. …And the ‘Supreme-Most’ Avatar’s descend in the most crucial phase of human history, in the history of time, when the Kalipurusha waging a stormy-battle in royal raging fume, is not just another descend… His was (is) The Descend Of All Descends… and He Is The Avatar Of All Ages… and The Avatar Of All Avatars…He Is The Supreme One Who has come to vanquish the evil, the almost unstoppable barrage of wicked propensities of Kali, to restore His creation back in the track…. and That One can only be expressed with the best of all superlatives… One Who Is InCredible… InExplicable… InScrutable… Catching a ‘glimpse’ of His Own saying about the superlative significance of His Darshan will make us ponder over… over and over again…… He says: “My walking amongst you is a Gift yearned for by the Gods of the Highest Heaven and here you are receiving this grace. Be Grateful.” A Gift yearned for by Gods of the Highest Heaven…and here we are, the folks, who experienced His Divine Love in the minutest detail as well in the monumental designs… Having had Him in the midst, Who chose to be ‘One’ among us, were we disillusioned, believing that we almost had ‘cakewalked’ into Him??? He remained so close… closer than humanity could have ever expected… He moved amongst us, almost like one among… while Being in everyone of us. He did it in His own inimitable style, even excelling His preceding ‘Descends’. Deliberating on the Divine Descend, strolling down ‘historylane’, down to the ages, we are aware that, Lord Sri Rama’s descend in the Treta gifted mankind with the sacred ‘Ramayana’, a Sacred Lore That runs into eternity, encapsulating the summum bonum of Supreme Truth. …And Lord Sri Krishna’s descend in the Dwapara presented us with the sacred ‘Mahabharata’, again a glorious spiritual marvel encapsulating the Supreme Wisdom… and there born the Song Celestial Bhagavad Gita, The Divine Treatise for everyone in all the worlds. Human history is replete with Godly ‘advents’, advents full of Supreme Love, Supreme Compassion… packed with tales of Ultimate Wisdom… Every single act of Him, be it as Lord Rama… Lord Krishna or Sri Sathya Sai, bore indefinite significance… and thus definitely has His ‘final act’ of disappearance as well… Let’s leave it for Him alone to answer… for, human understanding is just a mere spark of His Almighty Effulgence Supreme… It is only when the Jeevatma makes an attempt to realise its irrefutable connection, irresistable bondage with the Paramatma, The Suprme Brahmam, that, perhaps the little ‘i’ will get a glimpse of that secret. Until then, when we tread the path towards ‘Prasanthi’, let’s remind ourselves yet again, of the most beautiful Divine act of Sathya Sai Darshan – The Beauty Beyond Compare… Oh! Lord, The thoughts that flit through the mind upon viewing Thy Beloved Form, makes me realize that Thou Art that vital shade that soothes and refreshes even as life represents scorching rays of the Sun…Yet, when no longer visible, can we fathom what we have lost or comprehend what we have received or gained…?” The time that was to follow, the unfolding of His Divine plan and what necessitated it, was and is known only to The Beloved One…the unreserved shock, utter anguish and deep pain felt as He chose to hitherto withdraw the Cherished Form, could be overcome only by the downpour and surge of love His very Name brings forth.  As Beloved Bhagawan gave that most loving, lingering, everlasting, decisive and significant erstwhile darshan as yet, He made all know – You are never alone but God’s very own. Come, join in, reminisce, recall, relive and seek an encore, of that ultimate public darshan thus far, of the Formless Supreme. Listen to your heart – envisage creatively and receive wholeheartedly. …and before we close let’s remind ourselves what He Himself taught us: The play is His, The role is His gift, The lines are written by Him… He directs, He decides the dress and decoration, the gesture and the tone, the entrance and the exit.  You have to act well to receive His approbation. When the curtain falls earn by your efficiency and enthusiasm, the right to play higher and higher roles…that is the meaning and purpose of life. II Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu II

My Task Is This…

My Task Is This… 67 years ago, when Bhagawan was just over twenty years of age, He wrote a very revealing and inspiring reply to a devotee, who was perturbed by adverse talk by aimless tattered tongues, attempting to tarnish the Divine image. Pacifying the agitating mind Bhagawan responded, explaining His Task and His Divinity. The letter was dated 25th May 1947. To Bhaktas! My dear Boy. I received your letter and I noted the flow of the current of Prema and the echo of Bhakti in every word. It is impossible to see into the hearts of Jnanis and Yogis; nor is it possible to understand their ways. So, naturally, people talk about them, just as their fancy prompts them. No amount of fault-finding indulged in by these people can affect us, so long as we act truly and well, keep our purpose steadily in view and so long as we do not lose hold of the values dictated by Jnana. Don’t you know that only those trees get stoned, which have fruit on their branches? The tree with no fruits is not noticed by passers-by. Good and bad co-exist; they are companions for ever. That is in the very nature of the world. And, why, let me ask, should these people be blamed? Poor fellows! What do they know? What can they know? They are caught by every gust of greed, anger, envy and hate. So, they become intolerant and have no control of mind or tongue; they indulge in loose talk and slander. Those that know will never talk like that. It is not wise to take such ignorance seriously. Truth alone can win, believe Me. Un-truth must fail. It might appear to win for some little while, but, as soon as Truth appears on the scene, un-truth does flee. It is not the nature of Mahatmas to exult when worshipped or droop when they are neglected or calumnied. No Gita has laid down rules and regulations for the behaviour of Mahatmas; but, Sathpravarthana and Sadbuddhi are the fundamental traits …Beneficial Activity and Beneficial Thoughts. Provided these are there,  whatever is done over and above this for the benefit of the Bhaktas and for their welfare according to their deserts, we can afford to be free. You should pay no heed to the talk you mention. The Mahatmas do not owe their greatness to others who recognise them as such; nor do they lose their greatness if some one fails to recognise them. Their stature is not heightened by praise or lowered by blame. Of course there are some “Yogis” who suffer from blame and they have every reason to fear. I shall tell you who they are. They quaff their full, they swallow pills Of opium, and chew the bhang—these ‘noble’ folk! They drink, they eat their fill Of low unwholesome food—these `famous’ men! “Tis wrong to state ’tis false to say That anything dies, they never die,” They swear while (!) cutting throats and eat The living things they like—these `teachers’ grand! They preach the lessons of love and peace But hate and fight, all on the sly—these `gurus’ great! They fret and fume and speak for long On dry as dust philosophy! This wondrous gang of Yogis false They surely dread a fall. It is only such that have to be afraid. You must have read, in the lives of Mahatmas, how they were assailed by small men in even worse ways. It is all part of the scheme,: don’t worry. How long can the poor dogs bark at the star? How can they produce any effect on the star? All this will continue just for a little time; our integrity is the means to victory. I shall not slacken My Task, My Activity, My Determination. For Me, Reputation, Fame, Blame, Calumny—all are equally insignificant. I am quite unconcerned with the whole lot. I speak and act, only to help the world and for the sake of the people. But, let Me tell you, I have no name, no place, no possession. By whatever name I am called, I respond! To whichever place I am called, I go and make My appearance. I have this as My very first, My vow, My self-imposed task. I have not spoken of this to anyone so far; I am not a part of this world; I am far far away from it. But yet, I engage Myself in the uplift of its inhabitants. My Shakti, My Power, My Mystery can never be understood, whoever studies it, howsoever intensely and well. You can yourself witness the glory that will be manifested hereafter. Bhaktas must learn patience and await events. Then, you will yourself realize the absurdity of your fears. I wrote this reply to you, because I felt you will be sad, unless I wrote. Otherwise, I would not have replied at all, for it is not in Me to pay heed to such things. Thus…..Your Baba. The Soul Is Aware Only Of This…

The Soul Is Aware Only Of This… HE Is verily The Breath Of Prasnthi… The Breath of entire humanity… The Breath of all beings… The Breath of entire creation… as HE Is verily The Source Of Eternity… Sri Sathya Sai Who chose to withdraw His physical frame hitherto on this day, 24th April, four years ago, is living with us… in us as our Soul Entity, guiding and guarding us… in seeking this Sri Sathya Sai one is sure seeking his or her own redemption, for Sathya Sai is verily THAT!!! Sri Jullie Chaudhuri reflects on the Beauty Beyond Compare, seeking many encores of the everlasting enchanting Divine beauty… 24th April 2011…What does this day mean to you…what does it mean to me…?What import does it have cosmically…?Different sentiments felt by different folks…yet, underlying it all is the fact that a colossal void is left behind…quite obvious, totally inescapable and utterly unavoidable is the oft gnashing pain to see the Beloved One again… That agony of separation that was experienced by Dasharath for Lord Rama…and that painful parting which was the cause of Ma Kaushalya’s supreme grief…so too, during the age of Dwapar…similar was the angst borne by Mother Yashoda and Nand Maharaj… What about the sorrow and distress that plagued the being of Brindavan…the forests, the trees, tulsi/basil shrubs, the birds, the cows, calves and other animals…along with the woe of the mountain Govardhan and the humble anguish of the river Yamuna…?…and what about the stinging soreness in the hearts of the gopikas…and their copious tears? Can any mortal measure the excruciating extent of their ordeal…? Can anyone count the stars in the sky…or the leaves upon the branches of the evergreen trees…or the drops of water that makeup the mighty oceans or the grains of sand upon the bosom of Mother Earth…? Can one weigh the amount of snow that make up the majestic Himalayas…? Thus, what each devoted heart feels at the physical separation from the Supreme Being can never be gauged, determined or estimated…? We all are a part of the Source…of Beloved Bhagawan, however, does life have any lustre, any flavour…when we are away and…apart from Him…? Inexplicable was the torment in each brijvasi’s soul…ever so colossal…then, where does this partition place us all…? Treta, Dwapar and Kaliyug…Rama, Krishna and Sathya Sai…Who can gauge the woe of a devoted heart…of an aspirant, of a devotee…of any person who was aware of Beloved Bhagawan as the solitary Mother and Father …the sole Parent – a gleeful child…up until 24th April 2011. His Omnipresence notwithstanding, even in midst of a crowd, surrounded by friends and family…the ‘gleeful child’ now faces life often alone as an orphan alone. The lines from the qawwali often sung in the Divine Presence – Sai bin raha na jaaye…jabsey hai dekha Tujhko Sai merey…darsh ke pyase nayana saanjh saverey… chaen na aaye mohe chaen na aaye…Sai bin raha na jae…keep resounding… Oh! Beloved Sai…we can’t live without You… ever since these eyes first rested upon You…they have solely sought glimpses of You through each moment of dusk and day… immensely restless are we…for Thee…do not  turn away from us…Sai, we can’t live without You… Having experienced the Lord’s wondrous Presence,…that mystique,…that graceful gait,…that charm,…that compassion and sweet motherly interaction,…that stern fatherly concern,…that exclusive attention,…that twinkling creative gaze and flow of inspiration,…that personal loving touch,…that pat on the back,…that distinctly made up for any and every kind of lack……that Vision of Glory……that glorious vision…of the petal soft Lotus Feet……of the coveted abhaya hasta…the hand raised in bountiful  blessing……that unforgettable voice…the songs He did sing……the unparalleled joy it brings……that melody that pierces the depths…the core……who doesn’t want more…much, much, much, more…?Unabashedly i do say – i do…i do…i do…want more…! Omnipotence, Omniscience, Omnipresence is eternal…it always is and always will be…the intangible does give delight…we all experience it in perhaps every bit that does vibrate around us and that does swirl and surround us…yet, the joy of His Presence is matchless…Beauty Beyond Compare…such is the bliss of the Beloved One’s Darshans. So have we recovered…? Has Prashanti recovered…can one ever ‘recover’…from an ‘episode’ of such a massive magnitude as this…? So, what does Prashanti’s stoic calm belie…do we ever get to hear her wishful sigh…for the soft footfall of Beloved Sathya Sai…?…and what of Puttaparthi…? Mother Devaki and Mother Yashoda…both adored their Krishna. Puttaparthi and Prassanthi…what do these ‘mothers’ feel for their precious ‘Sai…their little Sathya…their Sai Rama…their very own Sathya Sai Krishna…? So many thoughts…feelings flow on……gushing forth like a never-ending stream…Memories swirl and beam…choosing to remain evergreen……and the heart does constantly, continuously reminisce…Right now, the soul is aware of only this……His unfathomable mystery, mystique and mission is known to none…His charismatic Persona endears Him to all…His transcendental ways do baffle, amaze and stun…He is the Creator and…His script for the benefit of creation is supremely precise……intricately…ever so finely spun…Right now, the soul is aware of only this…His Will is that indomitable, absolute Power……that brought about creation……and…His Word is the word of Sathya…of Truth……the Sathya of Sathya Sai always holds true… …for His Word, you see, is the Word of God Almighty…His Will, His Power, His Word……propels us on…shepherds us into……stimulating, fructifying, inducing a Glorious Genesis…Right now, the soul is aware of only this……though the cosmic realms of the intangible renders bliss……without His Darshans……there is an invariable ‘something is amiss’…Right now, the soul is aware of only this……the era of Sathya Sai has much more in store……a refrain reverberates in the depths of the core…He is…and we are His…He is eternal and infinite…and eternally, infinitely we are His… II Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu II

That is My job; I will do that”

That is My job; I will do that” How gritty are you in the face of problems upsetting the rhythm of your day-to-day life? … and what is your Faith Quotient, that could help in times of adversities… a beautiful narration of a personal experience by Smt Karunamba Ramamurthy in the book Sri Sathya Sai Anandadai is a lesson for you and me, lesson on Faith and Surrender. ”On September 29, 1961, Shankara and myself went to Puttaparthi. My mind was in turmoil. We had lost a case pertaining to some property in a prime location in Mysore city, in a lower court, which meant a huge financial loss to us. I rushed to my mother who had put up in the old mandir and apprised her of our predicament. Her reaction was predictably calm. With faith in Swami, which did not falter ever for a moment, she said, “We may be at an apparent loss, but Swami does everything for our good.” We waited near the Interview Room to have darshan. Bhajan was in progress. Many were in the verandah for the interview. After quite some time, Swami came out. Seeing us, Swami told all the old devotees, ‘Go and attend the bhajan. I will have to see the new comers now. You can do only Padanamaskar now.” We did Padanamaskar and went to the bhajans. On the next day, we waited near the Interview Room before commencement of bhajans. Swami called us. We went in. Both of us did Padanamaskar. He asked, “What happened?” I said, “Swami, we lost,” and gave Him the details. Swami asked us to appeal to the higher court. I said that it would cost more and we could not afford that much money. Swami placed His hand on my head and said, “Swami is there. He will look after everything.” Later, He recited a sloka and said, “Do you know what Lakshmana prayed Rama? He prayed, ‘Rama, just as You use Adisesha as Your bed in Your manifestation as Vishnu, please keep me in Your proximity forever. Did he lack anything – wealth, kingdom, parents and wife? Still he left all those things and asked for Rama’s proximity. Similarly, you must yearn for Him alone. You will somehow, be carried through all other tribulations.” I said, “Swami, always keep us in Your mind. Shall we try again, Swami? It either makes or mars our future security.” Swami advised us to appeal in the higher court. All of us did Padanamaskar and left. We appealed in the higher court and lost again. Out grief knew no bounds. Terribly shaken, we came to Puttaparthi again. The next day was Monday and we sat outside the Interview Room.  After calling a few persons, Swami called us. We had gone there only to do Padanamaskar, but had the good chance of talking to Him. Swami came towards me and said, “Money, money, worries about money. Do you know what you should worry about? You should worry that you have not yet realised God.” I said, “Swami, I too worry about it.” Swami said, “Then why worry about this so much? As long as the purse was with you, you had to worry about it. Now that you have given it to Me, it is My duty to look after you. Should you worry still?” I said, “We should not, Swami. We worry about repaying all the accumulated debts. We just do not see any way out.” Swami explained, “You are afraid because your faith in Me has reduced. If you had complete faith in Me, you would not have developed fear. Do you know what is atmarpana? Whatever may happen, you should relentlessly follow Him. He will do something or the other for you. He will somehow make everything all right. He (pointing Himself) can do anything. What did Ramadasa and others do? Only this much, isn’t it? Whatever punishment they underwent, they were relentlessly thinking of Rama.” I said, “Even Ramadasa and others found fault with You when they had to go through unbearable adversities. What of lesser mortals like us, Swami? You are aware of the huge loss we sustained in the court case which was decided against us.” Swami, hearing this laughed loudly. I asked, Swami, if You are really present in our hearts, how do we get such problems and worries?” He said, “Why? Didn’t Ramadasa and others face similar problems?” I said, “Swami, they could have committed some mistakes when You were not present in their hearts. We are sure we have not done anything wrong to deserve this fate.” Swami said, “When you take this human form, committing some mistakes is inevitable. But you should not think of those. Think of Him always.” Swami said, “It is a pity that you have lost heart for such a trivial issue.” I said, “We are afraid of repaying the loans,” picking up the thread of the earlier conversations of the court case. Swami consoled, “Keep yourself calm. You will get the money to repay the loans. Is there a sky without clouds?… a rose without thorns?… a man without worries? I said, ”Swami, the thorn is not in contact with the rose. It is present, but exists separately. Please grace us so that thorns in us do not hurt others.” Swami said, “That is My job; I will do that.” II Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu II

For Bhagawan And The Brahmand…

For Bhagawan And The Brahmand… What better offering can a devotee make than to pray for His entire creation, by chanting most selflessly His Cosmic Chant, Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu…How humans should understand that they are channels of abundance, channels of peace and channels of light, to light up the whole of His creation…working most selflessly with a expansive heart.. On this epochal year of 90th Year Of His Advent, let’s continue with His mission, chanting Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu…an inspiring writing from Sri Jullie Chaudhuri. God illumines the entire universe as the Atma Tatwa immanent in all the living beings and objects. Even though God may appear to be involved in so many activities in the world, it is only for the pleasure of His devotees. He has no desire of His own. He has only one desire – Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu!  – Baba (Dussehra Discourse -2009) On 20th July 2009, Bhagawan, conferring harmony to every atom in the Cosmos as a whole, made us chant Samastha Jeeva Sukhino Bhavantu (may all the beings in all the worlds be at peace) for a few days, consequently reverting the intonation back to Samastha Lokaah Sukhino Bhavantu. Earlier on 31st August 2008, with absorbing intent Bhagawan had rephrased ‘Lokaah Samastha…’ thereby establishing Samastha Lokaah Sukhino Bhavantu…a chant most selfless and true, for Cosmic benefit. On this day Bhagawan, while bequeathing this chant upon humanity, mentioned that Lokaah Samastha refers to only one world…whereas Samastha Lokaah refers to all the worlds…‘It is a great, wonderful feeling’ – is how Bhagawan expressed the sentiments of joyous expansion and vastness brought about by this sacrosanct phrase. Students who were fortunate to witness this awe inspiring moment have since often recalled how Swami had enchantingly gestured with His arms, indicating an action of expansion…thus embracing all the ‘lokaas’! Through many an encore of this particular chant signifying peace for ‘Anni Lokaalu’, since all the lokaas are His very own, Bhagawan revealed His great concern and feeling for Universal Welfare.  Many are the ways to adore our sweet Lord and the fragrance of each minuscule element of devotion is sure to make Him smile. Along with the devotional hymns, the vedic chants, the verses and dramas, the garlands and flowers…the fasts and pledges…mustn’t we spare some time for that ‘one desire’ of God – Samastha Lokaah Sukhino Bhavantu…? What can please our Beloved Creator more than incantations for the well being of His dear creation…? Perhaps the intent to unite and form a global link…that intensely and selflessly resounds ‘Samastha Lokah…’ through the ether with magnified intent…effecting individual, global as well as universal harmony. It could be an Akhanda Samastha Lokah…for 24 hours on a rotation basis…or a specifically held group chanting for a specified amount of time or it could be 9/21/108 chants…micro or macro efforts…individual or collective…it is the intent that enhances the purpose and establishes a link, a bond, lending and blending a harmony. Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu, like all of Beloved Bhagawan’s messages has a universal objective and does not belong to any caste, creed, religion or sect…it can be chanted by anyone…anywhere…at any time sans any man-made restrictions. And it certainly is the need of the hour. The sheer noble intent of this gloriously powerful chant would have a tremendous impact upon the environment and usher in peace, contentment as well as a brotherhood in a world torn apart by selfishness, strife, chaos and terrorism. We all are sparks of That Divine Flame…Waves dancing upon the bosom of That Supreme Ocean…Together we form the fragrant petals of That celestial Lotus…Radiant rays of That Effulgent Light…Finite expressions of the One Who is Infinite…Significant segments of the One Who is Invincible…Each a unique star upon the vast expanse of the Celestial Firmament…Buds yet to bloom in the Eternal Garden…Limitless indeed like the sky…for we…are the children of Beloved Mother Sai… Come, Brothers and Sisters, together let us spread the message of Sai…the choice is ours…to remain a mere statistic or to touch upon the music of the mystic…a life sublime…going on to leave our footprints upon the sands of time… We are channels of abundance,We are channels of peace,We are channels of light,This is what we must realize,Love, Radiance and Harmony,Henceforth we must channelize…With the Universe our vows we must posthaste renew,Let the Cosmos ring out with Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu… Bhagawan is the heart of the Cosmos…the Brahmand…and we live in His heart…together we form His heartbeats…it is only natural for the beats to be in sync with each other…Let us do it this for Bhagawan…for the Brahmand…for our Bhagawan and our Bhagawan’s Brahmand…for we are forever an intrinsic part of the Brahmand…and the Brahmand from Bhagawan is never apart.Let us spread the message of our Lord,Let us live the message of our Lord,Let us live only to please our Lord…Every moment let us surrender selflessly at the Lotus Feet of our Beloved God…Let us glow and gush forth as instruments of compassion of the Creator for His creation…Most certainly this is what Bhagawan intended for me and you –II Samastha Lokaah Sukhino Bhavantu II Let us embrace life, the elements five, every atom of creation the Cosmos through…may God bless every being…sentient or insentient…embodied or disembodied… with all that is magnificent, wonderful and true…oh! what bliss…for this harmoniously includes me and you… II Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu IIII Samastha Jeevah Sukhino Bhavantu IIII Samastha Anu Bhavantu II Samastha Brahmand Sukhino Bhavantu II

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai And The Emphatic Significance Of March/April 2011 – A Period Of Profound Reflection…

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai And The Emphatic Significance Of March/April 2011 – A Period Of Profound Reflection… The forty day period of Lent is a time of repentance, fasting and preparation for the coming of Easter, when countless devout hearts spend their days praying to God, contemplating, overhauling the mindset and enhancing spiritual discipline. Two thousand years since the supreme sacrifice by the Son Of God, crucifixion of Jesus Christ, The Supreme Divine Father HimSelf, as Sri Sathya Sai, enacted a Divine Drama in March – April 2011, during the Lent period, resulting in HimSelf being aloof from the human sight hitherto. Connecting the two epochal events spanning two millennia, Ms Jullie Chaudhuri writes about her passion called ‘Sai Lent’, touching upon the unparalleled glory of Sri Sathya Sai Avatarhood and His Divine Sports… More than two thousand years ago an incident shook the world – the Crucification of Christ. Seemingly barbaric, bizarre, savage and ruthless…yet, it was a distinct part of the Cosmic Plan.  The ripples of this unbearable pagan episode are felt even now when anyone genuinely reflects upon the life of Jesus with a pure intent to know, understand, learn and grow. This extreme occurrence gave birth to the solemn period of Lent which culminates on Easter Day. There is an ancient Hawaiin belief – Ho’oponopono, which states that if we are a witness to any incident even if we simply hear of it…may it be whatever is happening around us…we are a part of it and are responsible for it.  It is not related to reproach, fault finding or blaming…but it indicates a healing process – in order to heal any situation…it is our responsibility to heal ourselves first. And so, right now, we are in the midst of a sombre phase…where millions are involved in a penance of sorts…heartbeats that remember the selfless life, the sacrifice…the incomparable gentle love, the spontaneous forgiveness…and the matchless compassion so classically synonymous with Christ.  While one participates in a ‘Fast’ one indulges in a feast too. Fasting is an abstinence which goes beyond food…and this takes place while incessantly feasting on the Holy Name and the accompanying divine dictums, messages, parables, and so on…from dawn to dusk and dusk to dawn. Lent is a 40 day period and Beloved Bhagawan chose this period of Lent for His immensely mystifying leela…and all that He chose to put His Form through for the sake of humanity – akin to forsaking His Form for the sake of humanity. His ways are unfathomable to our finite minds…yet, it doesn’t stop us from thinking, introspecting, wondering about this particular span of time and what it entails for all humans. The Supreme Father and His compassionate Son…sacrosanct advents that took so much upon Themselves for the benefit of the human race. Infinitely incomprehensible, utterly perplexing, puzzling and interwoven with humans and earth matters…because humans and earth matter to Him…in Whom merges the Son with the line – I and my Father are One.  The depth of what They exemplified with their Incarnation is totally inexplicable …much too vast and completely beyond human ken and understanding. So, what does the human heart feel for Jesus…for Sathya Sai…for Their advent…their ‘life’ on this planet? Is it filled with Paschatap – regret/lament and Prayaschit – atonement? Does it want to do something? Does it feel responsible in some minute way? Isn’t it true, that oft times it’s not what we have done…but what we have omitted to do; it’s not what we have thought…but what we have forgotten to think; it’s not what we say but that which we have overlooked to mention that turns us into a defaulter of sorts? Is there a tug in the heart…to remodel our thoughts, alter our words, rectify our actions, re-intensify our endeavours so as to live to please only Sai? What does Bhagawan and all that He stood for and exemplify mean to each of us? Should not each moment of this span of time be spent in reflection, reaction, resound and deep response? So much went into this span of time…the Divine Decision to take so much upon the Sacred Form…the onus lies upon us all to accord it reverence supreme. II Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu II

The Last View…Of The Everlasting One…Hitherto…

The Last View…Of The Everlasting One…Hitherto… Friday, 25th March 2011. Soft sunrays caressed the evening hours whilst giving way to an impatient twilight waiting in a star studded awning yearning to have a glimpse too of God on Earth. Unseen to the mortal vision celestial beings too hastened to these hallowed precincts. All eyes were glued to the entrance of the ever so holy Yajur Mandir. When the hour, the minute and the second merged in a harmonious blend as willed by the Supreme One, there was a flurry of activity outside the Divine Residence. An awed hush enveloped Sai Kulwant Hall…heartbeats were stilled into joyous silence as the devoted gathering waited with bated breath for a darshan of Beloved Bhagawan. Souls delightfully leapt in delight, necks craned, eyes steadfastly remained centred beaming adoration…innumerable palms joined in prayerful reverence as the Divine Chariot glided in. At the same time silent requisitions brimmed in the environment, many held up their written communiqués seeking the compassion and benevolence of the orange hued golden Cherished Presence. Spiritual travellers, earthly wayfarers holding micro and macro desires while swimming against the tide…each one benefitted from the omniscient, all-encompassing mercy endowing gaze. For certain, some ancient ones, gifted with sage vision helplessly pleaded with Him for Him…surrendering to an uncanny knowing being aware of the purpose of the Advent…imploring that He may not in His pristine compassion overly annex and affix the humongous manmade calamities, appalling woebegone state of humanity and the despicable tattered condition of Mother Earth upon Himself…His Beatific Persona. Tears welled in many a devoted heart for myriad reasons…for Bhagawan symbolised a distinct aspect through the different phases in each individual’s life – Mother, Father, Companion, Best Friend, Master, Guru…Beloved Higher Soul. None were aware nor were given a hint as to the shrouded finality that encircled those moments and momentous episode. Only He knew how much was being bestowed upon us all…so too, it remained with and within Him how much was being taken away. There was an interlude scheduled with a precision only God can plan for every speck in creation revolves and responds to His Will and Plan. The Divine Director had prepared His Script and the climax – it remained as His Exclusive Mystery! His Essence being eternal was to remain…even as His Form was being withdrawn…the lessons, reasons, shift, span, extent – His sole prerogative. He is Ananth…Eternal…His Leela…His Cosmic Play…Ananya – matchless and unique. He transcends time and space…so too, time and space know Him to be their Source…the origin of every bit in creation. There is no such place as far away…and Bhagawan remains as close as close can be, His Omnipresence during His Physical Presence fascinated countless many. Millions have experienced Him in million ways and continue to do so, thus, all that we have witnessed is just the tip of the ‘Saiceberg’ and His Word…for the heavens hail Sathya Sai as the Greatest Avatar. Then, can there be a last darshan of the Everlasting One? Who doesn’t want more, having known a glorious fraction of the Supreme and His Supreme Facets…? As did Mira, Tuka, Namdev, Andal, Radha and each Gopika…the cows, calves, the dust and terrain of Brindavan…the core, each heartbeat along with the soul of Yajur Mandir and the soil of Prasanti Nilayam and Parthi yearns and echoes – the era of Sathya Sai has so much more in store for me and you. He being Who He is…His Will being what it is…His Word being the Sathya of Sai…Shrishti being entirely His…Perhaps the chronicles of Earth hereby has this to say as regards this decisive day 25th March 2011 –The Last View…Of The Everlasting One…Thus Far And Hitherto… Read on  the Last Darshan Report as reported by The Prasanthi Reporter on the eventful evening of 25th March, 2011. Prasanthi scripted a beautiful darshan story this evening with Bhagawan emerging at 1915 hrs, coming for two full rounds of darshan. After completing the first round Bhagawan moved into the ladies’ side and continued with a bonus round of darshan. Primary School children had a wonderful time with Bhagawan, as Bhagawan preferred to stop at the block for a while during the end of His first round. The little children literally swarmed around His car with greetings in their hands. One after one, each one of them sought blessings from Bhagawan before His car moved into the ladies’ side, granting the bonus round of darshan. A group from Alike, Muddenahalli institutions also received Bhagawan’s special attention during the round of darshan. Coming on stage at 1930 hrs, Bhagawan sat for the next half-an-hour and bhajans turned intense. With Bhagawan joining, giving finger beats in between, the session turned out to be a delectable bhajan treat for the august assembly in the twilight. Just two minutes short of 2000 hrs, Bhagawan asked for Mangala Arathi. Even as Arathi was coming to an end, Bhagawan turned into a blessing mood, blessing the audience with double hand abhayahastha, continuously. Post Arathi, before leaving the dais, once again His blessing right palm went up, blessing the audience with Abhayahastha. Bhagawan left for Yajur Mandiram at 2005 hrs. Now And Forever

Now And ForeverNow And Forever As humanity is passing through a crucially important phase in its history, man needs to attempt to reinvent his lost fervour, fervour for spirituality utilising all God-given agendas to the best… and thus comes the supreme importance of “Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu” – the Universal MahaMantra born of Sri Sathya Sai HimSelf. Dwelling upon the sublime living exemplified by Bhagawan, the Sri Sathya Sai Bhagavatham, writes Sri Jullie Chaudhuri about the supreme importance of the phase humanity is passing through… Easter Day 2011 the world received some excruciatingly devastating news.  Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba had chosen to aloof Himself from the Physical. Easter was on 24th April that year. This year Easter Day just passed us by on 27th March. Incidentally, 28th March, was the day The Lord selected to admit Himself into the SSSIHMS. Then on, each day every devoted heart experienced tremendous soreness and awaited any bit of news, each moment of the day about their Beloved Swami – their Centre of Adoration. The fervour for Bhagawan surpassed limits. And anxious thoughts flooded each cell of the being. What all has He taken upon Himself? What can we do to ‘ease’ things?  Are we not responsible in some way for all that was happening? How can we share in howsoever a minute manner the colossal expanse, the unimaginable magnitude, the almighty contamination the Almighty had thrust upon His most adorable Form? Bhagawan is beyond pain, yet, each heart was writhing, burning in agony. And still is.Prayers rented the ether…prayers to Him…for Him. On this day, on 28th March 2011, a pacemaker was fitted into the heart of the One Who is the Heart of the Universe…Who sets the pace of every atom in creation! Is there anyone Who can fathom the leelas, the sportive play, the mystical pronunciations, the transcendental acts of Bhagawan? The human mind is fixed in limitations, confined in conditions. Conversely, God is beyond conditions, beyond logic, beyond any and every limitation. There are no laws binding upon the One Who makes the Laws…for, even as the energy structure is being altered, transformed and amended as each person and the environment evolves…classifying a dynamic process…His Will too refines, redefines and decides the Cosmic Script and the laws that harmonise and fit the script. No one can comprehend the ways of God. They are beyond description. – Baba Avatars do not manifest to please or convince any mortal. The descent of God in the Physical is for the resuscitation of Dharma, for reviving Shanti, for escalating pristine Prema, for establishing Ahimsa, for the protection of the meek and downtrodden, to bless the helpless, fundamentally the Divine Being appears so as to facilitate the wellbeing of each being. The welfare of all beings attracts a Divine Incarnation. Consequently, the life, breath, message and mission of the Sathya Sai Avatar, the Source of Creation, the eternal spring of Compassion is essentially Samastha Lokaah Sukhino Bhavantu. Moreover, the essence of Samastha Lokaah was planted in each individual soul as it birthed itself from the Cosmic Womb…the womb of Mother Sai. Quite essentially and unknowingly all are silently exuding this Mantra. It is time enough to arise, awaken and be aware of this truth, this Dharma of our existence especially during this period of Sai Lent. Then on may it blend with every heartbeat, each inhalation that destiny has bestowed upon us. Isn’t this what pleases the ever blissful Supreme Father and Mother of Creation? Isn’t this the bliss of our Precious Lord? Come, let us dwell upon the sublime living exemplified by Sai…may Sathya Sai Bhagavatam continuously absorb our soul, may Samastha Lokaah/Jeeva Sukhino Bhavantu propel our thoughts, words and deeds. May His compassion be our everyday mission. Together let us offer allegiance to the breath of Sai. Every dawn guide us, Oh! Beloved Master,How may we reach out to all incessantly? How may we live to please only Thee?May the shimmering pink-gold Light of Thy Prema,Embrace our heart space,Help us to be kind to ourselves too,Strengthen our personal sadhana,Intensify our Aradhana,That we may  sychronise the five senses with each human value,In thoughts, words and deeds as they flow through,Deepen our understanding of Samastha Lokaah/Jeeva Sukhino Bhavantu,Whereby,We remain ensconced in the sphere of Sathya Sai,Enhance our link and association with You,You are Now, You are Forever,May we ever bask in the realm of forever with You.Now and Forever.
