Shri Sathya Sai Baba Chinna Kathas – Truth 1.- Story of Alexander – Chinnakatha Puttaparthi, Prasanthi Nilayam (Hospital inauguration ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1983-10-08   Document Download Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description Alexander was the Greek emperor who made many conquests on India. He was a very rich king. But he was not satisfied with what he already had and wanted to add more and more kingdom and wealth to his own. Even this aspiration of his exceeded the limits. On one occasion, he invaded India, plundered the wealth and was returning with the wealth. Indians tried in many ways to stop him. On the way back he was afflicted by a dangerous disease. He had many doctors to attend to him since he was an emperor. All of them came and examined him. The emperor had many soldiers, orderlies, doctors at his disposal ready to serve him at his command. The doctors gave up the hope of curing him and all started shedding tears of grief. In those last moments Alexander realised the truth. He knew that he was about to leave the world. He was determined to let people know the truth which he could not realise in his life time. He wanted the people know it, at least after his death. He called his minsters around and said, “O ministers, I am about to leave my body in few moments. I want you to perform the funeral rites to my body as per my wishes.” The ministers agreed to do the funeral rites as per the King’s wish. The King said, “Take my body to Greece. Wrap my body, except my hands, in white cloth and raise my hands above my head.” The ministers asked, “O King, this is against our custom and tradition. The people will ask why the king’s hands are not wrapped in cloth and raised above the head. What should we tell them?” Then Alexander uttered these last words before breathed his last. He said, “Here is the emperor of Greece, the mighty and rich Alexander. But while leaving the world, he is leaving penniless, leaving behind all his riches and wealth. Tell this as my message to the people.” Today, man is wasting and frittering away his human quality, body and health in pursuit of wealth and money.   Listen To Full Discourse Health is wealth Puttaparthi, Prasanthi Nilayam (Hospital inauguration ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1983-10-08 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description Good thoughts, good words and good deeds as also the tendency to listen to all that is good and to take in the good and wholesome sights and good behaviour – this alone is the good path that confers good health. There is a knack in predicting. A big officer went to an astrologer. A rich man too went to consult the astrologer. There was a wide spread publicity that the astrologer was predicting correctly and due to the publicity the King too wanted to consult the astrologer. The king invited the astrologer to the palace. The astrologer became egoistic upon receiving the invitation from the king. All astrologers have ego from head to toe. They have no other property apart from the ‘ahankara’ the ego. The astrologer went to the palace and examined the horoscope of the king. Because of his ego he lost all the sense of conveying the prediction properly. He said, “O king, all your sons will die shortly.” The king thought angrily, “How dare he predict such things about my sons! He is so proud!” and imprisoned the astrologer. The prediction made by the astrologer was correct, but in spite of that it had to be conveyed in an acceptable manner. ‘You cannot always oblige, but you can speak always obligingly’. The king summoned another astrologer as he wanted to verify the prediction. The new astrologer came in all humility and saw the horoscope and said, “O king, you will live long.” He just changed the way of conveying the prediction. He said, “O king you will live long, but your children will not outlive you.” This prediction satisfied the king to some extent. The sweetness lies in the words spoken. The first astrologer said that the king’s children will die very soon but the king would live long. How harsh the words sound!! Hence though it’s the truth it must be conveyed properly in a sweet manner. There may be shortfalls in a person. There is a blind man. Addressing such a person, though true, as, “O blind man, come here.” would sound harsh and would hurt the person. On the other hand if one were to address him as, “O Surdas! Please come here.” would please him. Hence the words must be filled with sweetness, and should be pleasing to others. For the words to be obliging and pleasing to others, one’s heart must be filled with love. The one who develops love is truly human and man without love is like a corpse. One must not be in a hurry for everything and must gradually develop the feeling that one is God.   Listen

Shri Sathya Sai Baba Chinna Kathas – Education 1.- What is true knowledge; Football analogy Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (1996 Special Discourses ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1996-06-20   Document Download Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description Students! You are familiar with the game of football. There are six players on each side for this game and the goal is at the end of each side. The six internal enemies- desire, anger, covetousness, attachment, pride and jealousy are the players on one side and on the other side truth, righteousness, peace, love, non-violence and sacrifice are the players in the game of life where the individual’s life is the ball. Worldly knowledge and spiritual knowledge are the boundary limits. If the ball of life goes outside the boundary limit it is considered as ‘out’ but not goal. So study both and learn to lead the life. All fields of worldly knowledge are like rivers and rivulets. Ultimately all these reach the ocean of spiritual education. Ocean is the destination for all rivers. However many types of knowledge you learn, the ultimate destination is God’s grace. Having this firm faith, develop the loving nature.   Listen To Full Discourse Selfless love and firm faith Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (1996 Special Discourses ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1996-06-20 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description Embodiment’s of Love! The hall-mark of love is Thyaga (selfless sacrifice). Love seeks nothing from anyone. It bears no ill-will towards anyone. It is utterly selfless and pure. Failing to understand the true nature of love, man yearns for it in various ways. Love has to be cherished with feelings of selflessness and sacrifice. In what is deemed as love in the world– whether it be maternal love, brotherly love, or friendship—there is an element of selfishness. Only God’s love is totally free from the taint of selfishness. Divine love reaches out even to the remotest being. It brings together those who are separate. It raises man from animality to divinity. It transforms gradually all forms of worldly love to Divine love. To experience this Divine love, men must be prepared to give up selfishness and self-interest. They must develop purity and steadfastness. With firm faith in the Divine, they must foster the love of God regardless of all obstacles and ordeals.      Selfless love and firm faith Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (1996 Special Discourses ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1996-06-20 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description Embodiment’s of Love! Jesus appeared in a dream to Paul, and smiled. He patted his back and said, “Paul, What harm did I do you? What difficulties have I put you through? Then, why do you hate me? All your sufferings, all your losses, all your difficulties, are not given by me. They are the consequences of your own actions. You are only passing through the reaction of your actions. I have not given you any suffering.” When Jesus blessed him so, the mind of Paul changed. Later he became a servant of God and he composed a text, and came to be known as “St. Paul”. In this way, Jesus corrected wicked people, cruel people, bad people, and reformed them. It is only the body that is put to suffering. We have to worship Jesus keeping these ideals in mind, and not otherwise.   Listen To Full Discourse Sacrifice leads to Immortality Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (Christmas ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1998-12-25 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description Having taken birth as a human being, one has to realize the divinity within. Shri Sathya Sai Baba Chinna Kathas – Self-confidence

Shri Sathya Sai Baba Chinna Kathas – Self-confidence 1.- Swami on Abraham Lincoln Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (Birthday ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 2000-11-23   Document Download Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description You should recognize one important point. Lincoln was born in a very poor family in United States of America. Father was a carpenter. Mother, Nancy served as a tailor stitching old clothes. The boy associated himself with rich children and attended school. All the rich boys started heckling him. Everybody made fun of him because of his dress and poverty. Lincoln being a young boy could not bear this and went to his mother and cried, “I am put to shame by my friends.I want a new dress. I want everything that is good now”. The mother explained to him and said, “understand our position first, know the position of the family next, we are very poor, we do not have enough to eat. How can we have rich dress? Therefore we should understand our situation and then live. You are bound to come up in life. Carry on your life based on your self confidence. Never be mindful of others opinions. Self confidence is the foundation. With self confidence make every effort from now on. Mother explained clearly with appropriate suitable, good examples. Since then Lincoln developed this quality of immense self confidence. He worked hard. He didn’t bother what other were saying and said that is their liking and this is my taste. My self confidence will safeguard me. I may not have the wealth of the world but I have got this wealth of self confidence. He carried on his life with this self confidence. In the mean time the mother died. In spite of that the teaching of the mother stayed with him all through. Father married second time. it is quite natural for them but she too took care of him with love. The step mother also said, develop the self confidence as taught by your mother. The same teaching was given to him by her. Later he has taken a degree. Then he found it hard to carry on further. He could not carry on his father’s profession. He wanted to take up some job. Then he thought I don’t want any job. the one who relies on self confidence , He wanted to stand on his own feet so he started a business. He completely tread on the path of truth. In fact he was deceived by many people. In this world it is quite natural that many can’t see good, people cannot bear others progress. this has been going on since ancient times. Because of his full faith in his mother’s teachings he was not bothered by these. He failed in that business too. He sold all the objects and material with him and cleared his debt. Is there any greater misery than being in debt? The greatest act of charity is the offering of food. There is no greater God than one’s parents. In fact enmity is one of the worst diseases. compassion is the greatest duty. Friendship is the greatest wealth. What else? There is nothing worse than bad name which is same as death. Good reputation is the greatest wealth. Chanting God’s name is the best jewellery. He was thinking like this. he cleared all the debts by selling all the belongings. At this time, friends who knew his honesty and good nature they said, “Elections are fast approaching, they said you contest we will help you. He then contested the parliament elections. He won the elections. After this victory all parties praised Lincoln. All made Lincoln the President of the United States. he then could understand the value of the mother’s words and the value of self confidence. Because of his self confidence he had full faith in his mother’s teachings. Whatever mother said is truth. In fact his actions are truthful. After becoming president, at that time there were some differences between Blacks and Whites. The White people started harming the Black People. The Blacks assembled and met Lincoln, they requested him to resolve this problem of inequality. In fact all are equal. All are the children of God. Then why should there be disparity. He never wanted this racial discrimination to exist any longer. In fact this equality brought him more success. All black people started praising Lincoln.   Listen To Full Discourse Love is My only Wealth Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (Birthday ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 2000-11-23 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description THERE are many persons who analyze and investigate into the nature of divinity, but very few understand it in its true spirit. Shri Sathya Sai Baba Chinna Kathas – Vices

Shri Sathya Sai Baba Chinna Kathas – Vices 1.- How to control your senses; Bhagawan explains Bangalore, Brindavan (Sevadal Conference ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1978-11-22   Document Download Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description For every human being, control of one’s senses is essential. It would be wrong if we think that this ‘control of senses’ is required for only for the hermits and ascetics (Jogis and Yogis). This control of senses is essential for every one who has taken birth with a human body. With the feeling that the sensory organs belong to me, we should not let them go uncontrolled. Although the car is purchased by you, registered in your name and being driven by you, you need to put the brakes when you anticipate danger. If you think, “It’s my car, why should I put brakes.”, then you are verily inviting danger for yourself! In this analogy, the “human body” is like a car, the two “eyes” of the human body are like the two lights of the car. The “stomach” is like the petrol tank of the car. The “mouth” is like the horn of the car. Our “mind” is the steering for the car. The four “Purushardhas”– Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha– are like the four tyres of the car. The air in these four tyres is that of “faith”. Here when we put on the switch which is the “intelligence”-(buddhi) in us, then the car will start. We will have to compare the “Chitta” with the control of senses. When we can control the senses, it is then that our “Chitta” is purified. When the “Chitta” is purified then wisdom dawns.   Listen To Full Discourse Structure and the guidelines to Sathya Sai Organization Bangalore, Brindavan (Sevadal Conference ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1978-11-22 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description In the Sathya Sai organization we should regard Love as the essential life giving source. Shri Sathya Sai Baba Chinna Kathas – Self 1.- Understand yourself; Sanath Kumara to Narada Bangalore, Brindavan (Summer Course ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1973-05-23   Document Download Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description Once Narada met Sanath kumara and asked for enlightenment. Sanath kumara asked Narada about the special power which Narada had acquired because of his learning. To this Narada replied that he knows all that is contained in the four Vedas and the six Shastras. Sanath kumara smiled at this reply and said that while it is a matter of great satisfaction that Narada had learnt the Vedas and the Shastras but he would like to ask whether he had learnt anything of the self and whether he had understood himself. Sanat kumara then told Narada that so long as one does not understand one’s self, the knowledge of all the Shastras, all the Vedas, of the Gita and the Upanishads becomes quite useless. Your knowledge will become useful only when you are able to realise the nature of the self. What is important is the Adwaitha darshana. You should be able to realise and understand the non-dual aspect that is pervading the entire universe. Today in the world, without making an effort to understand one’s own self, people are imagining that they are achieving many great things with the help of modern science, and in the process they are putting their feet into many difficult situations. By saying that they are able to travel far into the sky, see the stars, go to the moon and set up camps there, they are only building castles in the air. They may partially succeed in doing such things, but if in the process they do not understand the Self and if they do not have peace of mind for themselves, they are very foolish indeed.   Listen To Full Discourse Cross the cycle of birth and death Bangalore, Brindavan (Summer Course ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1973-05-23 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description Man generally desires to get something and in fact gets something different. Shri Sathya Sai Baba Chinna Kathas – Ramayana

Shri Sathya Sai Baba Chinna Kathas – Ramayana 1.- Difference between goodness and greatness; Story of Rama and Ravana Puttaparthi, Poornachandra Auditorium (World youth conference Your browser does not support the audio element. 1997-07-16   Document Download Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description “Brahmavid brahmaiva bhavathi”- the knower of the Brahman becomes the Brahman. When one entertains divine thoughts one becomes divine. With animal thoughts one becomes animal like. The vices and wicked thoughts hovering in man today, does not speak of any human nature. People of all countries and India in particular know this. Ravana, in the sacred epic Ramayana, was highly educated. Rama too is equally highly educated. Today one thinks of this education and study, but both Rama and Ravana were highly educated. The good one is studying so also the bad one. Here one should give attention to two aspects. Some want to become great, some want to become good. So what is the difference between goodness and greatness? There is a wide gulf between the great one and the good one. Every parent wants their children to become great; but is ignorant about the aspects that they want their child to be great in. Parents consider that high education, high jobs and earning loads of wealth as symbols of greatness. If one wants to be good then what is that good? No one makes an effort to know it. The one who finds the human qualities in the Divine is a great man. The one who sees the divinity in man is good man. So it is the sign of goodness to see God in human being. One is considered great if one sees man in God. Without goodness there is no use of greatness. Hence, one must aspire to become good. There are many great people today, but how is the country benefited by them? Ravana studied and so did Rama but among them Rama is good and Ravana great. In what way is Ravana great? Ravana did great penance but could not assimilate the knowledge that he acquired and that lead to indigestion. This indigestion is ignorance and because of this ignorance other vices followed. Unable put a ceiling on his desires he ruined his entire clan. He was responsible for the death of his brothers as he could not control his thoughts. He was also responsible for the death of sons due to his lack of control on his wants. He ruined his kingdom as he did not control his attachment. The reason behind this is that though Ravana was highly educated he was infested with evil thoughts, bad feelings. Had there been no attachment, he would have had his kingdom. Had there been no desire he would not have lost his clan. Had there been no thoughts, his brothers would not have been killed. Had there been no desire, his sons would not have died. Therefore, man becomes a demon because of the thoughts, desires and attachments. One must have only one desire and that is the love for God and the fear of sin. With these two one can be great. Rama dedicated himself to truth and righteousness. ‘Sathyam vada, dharmam chara’, meaning speak the truth and follow dharma. Rama spoke the truth and followed the path of righteousness and hence he became good. Even today, after thousands of years, he is still respected because of those qualities. Rama showed divinity in human being. ‘Daiwam maanusha roopena’- ‘God comes in human form’. That is goodness. It is nothing great to see man in God; that is one’s desire, imagination, reflection, reaction and resound. Since one is at human level he sees the same in God. What is the greatness in seeing human in the divine? No, no, one must see the divine in man, that is goodness. Hence one must clearly know the difference between greatness and goodness. One should aspire to be good and not great. What is greatness? One may have lot of wealth, may be highly educated, may be strong, may have strong army, may have great authority but how long will they last? They last until one is in high position and once the position is gone nobody gives any respect. A person who is a prime minister will be flocked by people as long as he continues to be in that position. The moment he retires from the position, even the rickshaw puller will demand money. Nobody recognises him post his retirement. Is this the greatness? This greatness is there today gone tomorrow but goodness is eternal. So, one must dedicate one’s life to goodness. What is goodness? Following the path of righteousness, living justly, loving all, believing in the divine, being compassionate towards the needy, serving the forlorn- these are the qualities of goodness. One should develop sacred thoughts and good actions.   Listen To Full Discourse Youth should never leave ideals Puttaparthi, Poornachandra Auditorium (World youth conference Your browser does not support the audio element. 1997-07-16 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description Embodiments of love, young man and women!! Shri Sathya Sai Baba Chinna Kathas – Faith

Shri Sathya Sai Baba Chinna Kathas – Mahabharata 1.- How to absorb good qualities; Analogy from Mahabharatha Bangalore, SSSIHL-BRN (Summer Course )    Your browser does not support the audio element. 1973-05-26 Document Download Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description There is a small example from the epic Mahabharata to illustrate the aspect of ‘guna grahana’ the ability to absorb the good qualities. In order to test Duryodhana, Lord Krishna called him. This took place much before the war, (for after the war there was no Duryodhana) when they were on friendly terms with each other. Lord Krishna said, “Duryodhana, I intend to perform a great thing and I need a virtuous and good person for the occasion. Please search the world for such a person and bring him to me.” Duryodhana spent several days searching the world for such person and came back to Lord Krishna and said, “O Krishna! I could not find any person with good qualities. Everyone whom I looked at had some defect or the other and had such qualities that they could not be called a good man. The only person who meets your requirement is I and I am here for your service.” Krishna sent away Duryodhana to some place saying that he would use him later and sent for Dharmaja and said, “Dharmaja, you go and search the world for a person who is very bad and wicked and whose qualities are such that there is none who is worse than him. Bring me the worst of beings in terms of qualities.” Dharmaja too searched the world and in the end returned alone to Krishna and said, “O Krishna! I could not find any bad person. I saw only good qualities in whomever I met. If at all there be any bad qualities they lie in me. I am the only person who answers your requirement. I am here.” and saluted Krishna. For Duryodhana to say that good people do not exist in the world or for Dharmaja to say that bad people do not exist in the world, the basis is not the world, the fault is not with the world. It is the innate attributes and qualities of the respective persons that are responsible for their perception. It is the aspect of ‘guna grahana’, the ability to absorb the good qualities, that is the reason for the apparent perception of good or bad. One neither has the capacity to determine the good or the bad nor has the authority to decide. Hence one must sanctify and develop pure and noble thoughts and tread the path of spirituality with strong faith in God and improve on the qualities in oneself to merge with the divine. Swami ends his discourse wishing that devotees tread this path and benefit by it.   Listen To Full Discourse What is the state of Samadhi Bangalore, SSSIHL-BRN (Summer Course ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1973-05-26 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description The path of spirituality can be compared to the game of fire and to the combat with a ferocious tiger! If one is not alert one can be dragged by Maya (illusion) into the web of worldly affairs. Maya makes all efforts to engulf man in the illusionary world and to forget the human qualities. Therefore before man embarks on the path of spirituality it is essential to have the knowledge of ‘pranayamam’and ‘pratyaharam’.     What is the state of Samadhi Bangalore, SSSIHL-BRN (Summer Course ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1973-05-26 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description The path of spirituality can be compared to the game of fire and to the combat with a ferocious tiger! Likewise prakruthi, nature that one sees around, and which is born of Brahman is essentially Brahman and it cannot be anything else. It is an apparent illusory vision, which makes one think that, the nature is different from Brahman. This is the teaching of Vedanta. In order to recognise and realise this truth one must have the ability to comprehend and an aim. A small example to illustrate the aspect of ‘lakshyamu’ or aim: In the epic Mahabharata, Guru Dronacharya while teaching archery to the Pandavas, tied a bird to a tree and asked the Pandavas to shoot the bird one by one. When the Pandavas came forward one by one to aim and shoot the bird, Guru Dronacharya asked them a few questions. When Bheema, the strong man, came to try his hand at aiming and shooting, guru asked him, “Bheema, what do you see?” Bheema, fully aware of his enormous strength, answered, “I see a tree, I see a bird, I see the rope with which the bird is tied to the tree and I also see the sky behind the bird.” Guru replied,” You see so many things; your concentration is not up to the mark, sit aside.” Likewise all the four brothers were called and three of them answered similarly as they saw many more objects around than Bheema. When it was Arjuna’s turn, he answered, “Guruji, I see only the bird and nothing else.” A person with an intense desire to learn a particular thing must concentrate and devote his mind to the task; that is the proof of dedication. Shri Sathya Sai Baba Chinna Kathas – Devotion 1.- Gopikas devotion is unparallel: Vyasa says to Parikshit Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (1996 Special Discourses ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1996-06-23   Document Download Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description At one time, emperor Parikshit said to Suka about his impending death in seven days. He has to leave his body in seven days. It is a curse given by a saint. Why should he waste these seven days precious time? He wanted to sanctify his life by praying the divine. He summoned sage Vyasa and started listening to his discourses. Both Vyasa and Suka are powerful Brahmcharis. Yet they were describing the powerful devotion of Gopikas with authority. Parikshit got a doubt and asked Vyasa- “Swami! how come the Gopikas who had no knowledge or literacy or any spiritual coaching could get into the fold of the divine and win His blessings? Divine was pleased with their devotion and made them experience God. The saint replied, “Oh-mad cap, you are wrong if you think you can see God by reading the scriptures. No- No. The scriptures are ment only for reading and not to see God”.   Listen To Full Discourse If man is right, world will be right Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (1996 Special Discourses ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1996-06-23 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description WHAT happiness did the demon Somakasura attain by stealing the Vedas and hurling abuses at God? What was the fate of the ten-headed Ravana who abducted the consort of Rama? What did Duryodhana, who refused to give the Pandavas even as much land as would a needlepoint occupy, take with him at the end? What happened to the wicked Kamsa ultimately who indulged in the gruesome act of slaying infants? The same will be the fate of the wicked today. If not today, at least tomorrow, they are bound to meet their doom. Oh man! Do not entertain excessive desires. Better that you lead a life of moderation.     If man is right, world will be right Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (1996 Special Discourses ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1996-06-23 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description WHAT happiness did the demon Somakasura attain by stealing the Vedas and hurling abuses at God? Without faith how can one demand the Lord? God is not one’s servant! But if one has the true devotion then the Lord is verily the servant of His devotees!! So God is servant of all. A small example to illustrate this: Servant stands in waiting at the threshold of the Lord’s shrine; similarly the Lord too stands alert and in waiting, like a servant, for His devotees to hear their pleas and to grant their wishes!! God becomes a master if one is not devoted or if one does not foster any divine feelings. People here know the story of Hanuman. Hanuman is virtuous and strong. In the presence of Lord Rama Hanuman stood humbly and in front of Ravana he stood in all his valour. What is the reason? In front of an egoistic person the devotee stood like a warrior. And he stood humbly in presence of the Lord who is the embodiment of love. Hence life must be carried on based on the circumstances. Therefore God always submits Himself to His devotees. The Lord is extolled as ‘bhakta paradheenaya namaha!’ meaning that the Lord is always submissive to those who are devoted. God is always devoted to His devotees when one has pure and sacred devotion.   Listen To Full Discourse Spiritualise The Bhajans With Heart Felt Devotion Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (Shiva Rathri ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1997-03-08 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description The bhajans this time were done in a ritualistic fashion. Greater attention was paid to raga, tala, laya and shruti (the melody, the beat, the rhythm and the tone). All these are vyavahaarika (conventional qualities). To elevate the bhajans to a spiritual level what are required are true feeling and ecstasy of devotion. The songs should flow nor from the lips but from the heart. When the songs come out of the heart they will be blissful for the ears.     Spiritualise The Bhajans With Heart Felt Devotion Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (Shiva Rathri ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 1997-03-08 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description The bhajans this time were done in a ritualistic fashion. Shri Sathya Sai Baba Chinna Kathas – Sacrifice

Shri Sathya Sai Baba Chinna Kathas – Sacrifice 1.- Sacrifice of Emperor Bali Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (Onam ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 2001-08-31   Document Download Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description Emperor Bali was the personification of charity. He sacrificed everything during yagnas (sacrificial offerings). To uphold the principle of truth, he was prepared to sacrifice everything. Vamana came forward and asked for 3 feet of land. Bali, without a second thought, promised that he will give. Preceptor Sukracharya objected. ‘Emperor Bali, this is no ordinary boy. He is highly powerful. The very embodiment of Vishnu is here. If you promise him anything, you cannot go back. It is better that you don’t promise him anything at all’. Then Emperor Bali said, ‘Can there be a greater sin than going back on a word once given?’ He disobeyed the command of his guru, and gave his promise to Vamana. Bali strived to uphold truth. God granted him all happiness and pleasure and sent him to Pathala. Pathala means that you will never be born again, birth-less. And Emperor Bali begged Vishnu to grant him a wish. ‘Just as you conversed with me today, just as you entered Kerala now, every year you should visit this Kerala and take care of all the people of Kerala’ – that was his request. People of Kerala celebrate this festival of Onam which signifies the visit of Vamana to this planet Earth. Bali was highly virtuous, highly meritorious, though born in a demonic family he had all the noble qualities. Because of the meritorious deeds of Emperor Bali, the people of Kerala are blessed with this opportunity of celebrating Onam.    Listen To Full Discourse Happiness is union with God Puttaparthi, Sai Kulwanth Hall (Onam ) Your browser does not support the audio element. 2001-08-31 Document Download this Audio Social Share Facebook Twitter Youtube Instagram Description WHAT happiness did the demon Somakasura attain by stealing the Vedas and hurling abuses at God?
